BOY! Shortest names 3-4 letters and one syllable!

Ash, Cal, Rett, Ren, Dax etc

I need more ideas, I don’t LOVE anything yet.

I know boy names are hard. Maybe I just need to let things grow on me. Any ideas for how I can pick a name and start practicing it to see if I like it or not? I heard one person saying that she gives the name at Starbucks as her coffee order so she can hear other people calling it out to see how she likes it. I thought that was cute. Any other ideas ?

Edit: wow!!! Thank you all so so much! I want everyone to know that I am going through every single post and adding to my list as I go along. I appreciate you all, love this community!

My baby is coming from Russia by courier … what to expect?

She left Russia today, then to New York, then to my City. So it’s a very long ride. The courier sent me a video of her in her crate. She was fixed in the back, looked absolutely terrified. There is food and water but no litter box, just pee pads on the ground.

It just makes me sad. All of the videos of her from the breeder show her happy curled up with her mom or siblings. Or playing with a toy. Or relaxing in the sun. Seeing her like that, just breaks my heart.

I’m also worried about whether it will traumatize her permanently. Has anyone else received a kitten that they got shipped from outside the country? What can I expect when I bring her home? How can I make the transition easier for her?

Thank you all!!

Anyone else love it when Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer says "Nurse Paul" in reference to Julie Paul, a nurse practitioner at the South Shore Health Perinatal Behavioral Health program.

Anyone use a co-sleeper item on the bed?

My mattress is too soft and I have major back and hip issues that would get worse if I switched to safer mattress. Rather than give up on cosleeping altogether, I did some research.

Have anyone used something like this? It lays on top of the bed.

What would the pros/cons of something like this be?

I also considered a bedside bassinet but the room is very small.

Peterbald breeders with chamois cats near Arizona?

I had to put down my Sphynx girl not long ago and it has gutted me. I’m starting to do my research for the next kitten and have been very interested in peterbalds for a while now, I prefer the chamois coat and love the hairless look and the big ears and the long slender bodies.

I also have a dog who misses her sister ever since I had to put her down. She would be great with a kitten.

I’m willing to drive pretty far for the right breeder. My research has not really brought up much… southern CA, NV, NM, UT would all work for me… but I just can’t find much. I know it’s a very rare breed.

If I have to get from Europe I can, what does it cost to ship a kitten and isn’t that traumatic for them?

I’m also open to getting two kittens or even adopting a retired King or Queen with the right temperament.

Thanks so much for the help!!

Shopping, different OBs—an insurance billing question

I’m 8 +5 today and I have an us scheduled with a new OBGYn at 9+5. I want to meet him and see how he practices but then I also have another appointment scheduled at 10+6 with a completely different doctor (also new to me). I think that the second doctor is the one that I will like more but I’m not sure. I also want the 9+5 one to check on how the pregnant is going because I have had 2 MMC and I’m scared there’s no heartbeat in there…

I’m worried about how insurance might bill this situation. Are both visits going to be covered or is my insurance going to deny one?

Renting out to three roommates?

I’m renting out a 3BR 2 ba $3000 fully furnished home (doesn’t include utilities) as an LTR. Getting tenant applications, so far going well.

I was expecting a well off family to come in, maybe one in medicine as we are very close to a major hospital, but had three roommates apply. They are in their mid/late 20s.

What are the pros/cons to this situation?

Water softener people coming today… what do I need to know about the Phoenix area options?

I have a Home Depot Affiliate (select source water) coming to do free testing and to give me a quote on whole home water softener and getting an RO system set up in my kitchen sink. I was hoping to pay for some kind of regular service to keep RO filters/salt tank topped off etc so I don’t need to worry about it. looks like Home Depot has a good guarantee which is why I wanted to work with them.

I get nervous about these kinds of things because it feels very “salesman” and I know literally nothing about this stuff so I get worried I will be taken advantage of.

What questions should I ask?
What kind of deals can I request?
What things should I be thinking about?

Thanks all!
