Fonterra makes more staff redundant

And it’s not even in any news but I noticed the carpark empty today at the research centre in palmy and I heard it was many people’s last day yesterday.

Saw these posters on the other side of Downtown Shopping Centre.

Yes, I admit it's good they're advocating against the AI centre being built down in Bunnythorpe, but did they really have to use AI to make the damn posters? Seems like it would cancel each other out, no?

Oi, owner of the house with no one living in it in kelvin grove!!

The fucking smoke alarm in the house down Motuoapa Place in Kelvin Grove is going off - the owner is someone who works at Westpac (i've seen him in his westpac car the few times hes been to the property). The last tenants moved out like last week, so its empty. There's no fire happening so I cant call the fire brigade to come around and do anything about it.

If you work at westpac and know who owns that damn house, tell them to get the hell around there and turn it off.

Dogs are going nuts at it, you can hear it almost 2 streets away!

Bike rack

So I tried to use the bike rack outside the mall today and it’s around the wrong way I couldn’t get the wheel over the bar. Who does this?! Puts a bike stand out front then has it back to front??!!

House/roof painting estimates?

Hi everyone I have a 175ish square meter weatherboard house that needs exterior painting and the roof painted.
I’m interested to know if anyone has had their house painted in the region within the last couple of years and how much it roughly cost you or what the quotes were that you received?
Probably a project for down the line but wanting to know a rough price bracket so I can budget towards it.
Thank you in advance

Stolen bike

Hi everyone, I hope it's okay to put this here. My bike was stolen while I was at work on Monday 10th, with the padlock cut through. I filed a report with police, and now I'm gonna ask around online to see if it shows up anywhere. It's my only mode of transportation so the theft is quite hard-hitting as I need it to get to work.

Bike rack located outside the shops on Vogel Street, Roslyn. First pic is of the bike located in the same place it was stolen from (pic is after a previous incident in 2023 which is why the wheel looks bent). Second pic is the theft site as discovered on Monday at 5.30pm: padlock pieces on ground + curly cable placed on the rack before I picked them up.

Model: 2019 Liv Rove 2 (Dark Magenta)

It has a red water-bottle holder (not pictured, as it was replaced after the photo was taken), mudguards over front and rear wheels, kickstand on non-visible side of back wheel, and a wire mount for a bike basket on the handlebars (not present at time of photo).

If anyone knows anything or happens to see it around, I'd appreciate the help in finding it!

Does anyone know what the loud explosion/bang was from the Massey/Fonterra area was?

Was walking the river walk and there was this massive bang or explosion noise coming roughly from the Fonterra area. Pretty sure it wasn’t coming from the Linton army camp.

Police on He Ara Kotahi bridge

Lots of police in the area. I was turned away and told there was someone along the path with an axe. Whilst waiting for a ride home, more police and dog squad arrived. Hope they catch this guy and there’s no casualties
