The kiwis and aussies are loving this game

Isonzo barely had 10 people on during an evening at most. This many players at 10am in the morning (Melbourne time) and on a work day is pretty nuts

Are St George tattoos offensive in the UK?

Might be a lame question but: I'm a white guy, not in the UK but will travel there, and am thinking of getting a tattoo like the attached done in a medieval wood etch style. It's St George, and I've only just clicked that his cross (i.e. the English red and white flag) has become an offensive symbol of nationalism recently. Would getting a St George slaying the dragon tattoo be problematic or offensive in the UK? I.e would someone see it, and think I'm a white nationalist etc? It wouldn't have his flag just want to avoid any connotations

In render view, the window/door texture is dark in the sun, but brighter in the shade? The wall texture is separate, and is unaffected

The windows/doors are on planes. The main walls are a hollow cube with the same types of texture files as the windows/doors. But the doors/windows texture has odd shading in render view. They're oddly dark or bright depending on their orientation.

The textures are: Base colour, normal, and roughness. The base colour has opacity around the texture islands (4th pic)

What's causing this and what can I do to solve? Is it an issue with Blender or my textures?

The screenshots are from EEVEE. I also tried in cycles, but the door/windows are completely dark while the walls are perfect.

Should I fill up the rest of the UV map space? This doesn't feel right

I'm modelling a simple street light. I've made seams for the pole and light, and applied the same scale, but their UV islands take up like 1/6th of the UV map. it seems a waste of texture space.

Looking for advice really~ what should I be doing; stretch the islands to make them bigger? The main pole will be a concrete texture and the rest will be metal. I don't want it looking stretched...

Random heavy lines on uniform cladding?

I am modelling this garage for a City Skylines video game mod.

When I bake the textures, some of the lines where the wood cladding meets gets given a heavier line compared to the rest, and makes it look unrealistic. The cladding is uniformly spaced as I used the array modifier to make it. I've merged by distance on them and checked for any double-up of the mesh, and there's no problems there.

I have tried various baking settings including the default. this happens if I reduce the dilation to 0 and apply diffusion as well.

Does anyone have any hints to avoid this issue? I've had it with other wood clad buildings.

Images descriptions:

  1. The baked model with the lines showing. Using the bone texture.
  2. The baked normal of the model showing the lines.
  3. The high poly model in the render viewport, as to show that the cladding is uniform.

Substance Painter incorrectly importing UV map diagonally?

I'm unwrapping my model in Blender and importing it as an fbx. When it loads, the UV is completely different to the one in the model I exported?

Anyone know why, and how to fix it?

Travel to country with same language as you first, to reduce jet lag stress?

I'm wanting to do a euro summer, travelling a long way from NZ. I'm worried about jet lag and how it'd affect me, so I wonder if flying to England first (where they speak my language) would be best so I don't get a double whammy of jet lag + stress from trying to communicate with people with another language.

Is this a strategy people take?? Do you think it's worth doing, or are the effects of jet lag overplayed (i might be fine anyway, and should go straight to Berlin))) Chur cuz

How much legislative knowledge do you need before becoming a Town Planner in the UK?

I am a town planner in NZ wanting to move to the UK for a few years. I have a planning degree and 8 years of NZ experience under my belt.

After I move to the UK, I'll try find a job. But of course I'd be up against candidates who are far more familiar with the local planning system or who have local degrees etc.

Anyone here in a similar position / experience know how much research and understanding of the local system you'd need to have a shot? For this profession or any other?

Edit: I am a duel citizen UK/Kiwi

How did they make the music videos for Don't Panic and Trouble?

Do you think it is all stop motion cut outs, or CGI, or what? (Obviously they imposed videos of their heads on them).

I wish there was a BTS of them; it'd be cool to make my own like it

Every second advert on my timeline is for the same ai porn website. What is going on!??

"haha you know your ads are based off you're searches right 🤓" yes but why is NSFW content being promoted on my feed? It's all from the same ai company which seems to have bought or hijacked several random peoples accounts to post the adverts. This is so stange. Anyone getting this??

How can I make my homemade burgers taste like fish n chip ones?

Every burger I've gotten from a fish n chip shop has tasted the exact same (and has always came in the same paper bag)... why do they taste like that? What can I do to replicate them at home?
