This game fucking rips

Honestly wasn't even on my radar. But with HLL Vietnam being broken at the moment and it being on sale I decided what the hell. That was 8 hours ago. This is one of the best shooters I've ever played. The hand shaking, the screaming, the graphics...wow. Thank you for not only releasing a working game but an all around masterclass.

How is AI in Gallipoli

Havent got the chance to play yet. How is the performance of bots in the game?

Do boy only rounds play out the same as Isonzo where AI try to attack from same direction and attackers almost always lose?

Is it customizable without locking progress?

What are we thinking about gallipoli?

What do we like so far and what not?

I like the maps and the general vibe. Nerfing the Officer might not be a bad idea but maybe they nerfed too much?

Some new classes are very fun, the HMG class for example. I havent tried all new ones so maybe some arent as good. Ammo carrier is probably boring and i dont really know why you need a Medic since anyone can res. But maybe im wrong ill try them, i didnt think the HMG class would be so much fun before i played it so lets see.

The only thing i really dislike atm is the „panic“ mechanic. We already had supression why do we need to shake and not able to reload as quick…. I know realism and all but this game isnt really a milsim i dont think we needed that.

What is your guys opinion? You hyped to play or how do you feel about the game?

Console only servers - can more people turn off crossplay pls

Attacking against PC players is a dreary experience. More console players need to turn off crossplay so we can have more console only servers

3 full Australian servers at 10AM on a Friday: we love an ANZAC game

The kiwis and aussies are loving this game

Isonzo barely had 10 people on during an evening at most. This many players at 10am in the morning (Melbourne time) and on a work day is pretty nuts

The overtime feature in Gallipoli is broken to the attackers advantage.

I know the game came out today and I love it and I do not wanna be that guy who complains but I am still gonna put my 2 cents out, I just find the overtime to be way too favourable to the attacker, it lasts forever and it feels unfair as I feel overtime is suppose to be a short minute at most event as a last hail mary but I keep having overtime lasting 5 plus minutes where the attackers seem to always win.

The roadmap for Gallipoli is live on steam!

Also news is spreading they are adding sub factions so those disappointed with no New Zealand troops just have to wait a bit they are coming

BINOCULARS ARE AWFUL.. (focus mechanism gotta go)

Why do i need to adjust the lens as if i'm studying freakin journalism!? I'm just using a simple pair of binoculars let me see and identify enemy. You've encountered this too, but didn't care cause you never played the officer EVER again...

First impressions

Played for about 5 hours, impressions so far:

- some of the most intuitive and effective suppression mechanics I've seen in a game. Suppression both inhibits the enemy from easily shooting allies, and gives a good chunk of experience while doing so. HMG class can easily support an advance when placed properly. Which leads into

- No smoke, but 5 officers. Each have a build able spawn beacon. Makes attacks less a massive rush after dropping creeping smoke call in, and more a steady advance as officers go pothole to pot hole building beacons

- Gunplay is fine. Bullet velocity seems decreased. Isonzo was decently hitscan mid to close range, this is not

I need to sleep

The Weapon Animations are Top fucking Tier

I am one of those guys that value animation work and graphics over many things in games. I like to be immersed more rather than getting as many kills as possible.

The weapon animations; reloading, chambering a round, aiming... All feels very weighty and realistic. The fact that your weapon reload animation changes when in a panicked state... Dare I say, imMeRsiVe. Thank you for this level of detail. They are also beautifully modeled. Rifles are hard to use but in a fun way. If you held one of those long ass bolt action rifles with average arm muscles and no training before you KNOW that that shit is hard to hold straight and aim with. I absolutely love the weapon animation work in Gallipoli.

The weapons are lacking a little bit in the feel when fired I think, may be a lack of screen shake effect thing. Meh, it's fine. We could maybe do with more explosive (rifle fire) sound in the front line. Trench warfare with no earpro would certainly sound more punchy and explosive.

As Turks, Aussies and Kiwis, we shall never let this game die.

Early tips and tricks for playing the attacker on Gallipoli

  1. Take officer and be aggressive so that players can spawn on you when you push forward and whistle
  2. ANYONE can build beacons/ squad spawns. So please please please push up and build them otherwise your whole squad is just gonna have to leg it all the way from your original spawn

. Attacking game is all about pushing your squad spawns/ beacons as close to the enemy as humanely possible.
3.

  1. Unlike Isonzo there is no creeping smoke. Use the dust clouds generated by arty to push in.
  2. Capping is not enough. You have to either build stuff or blow up stuff. Check the objective. It can be either after capping it

Please feel free to add to this list.

Question Regarding Life Span of WW1 Series Games

Just got the game on Xbox Series X and I’m loving it so far. It’s actually the first game I’ve purchased from the WW1 series, so I wanted to ask anyone who has played a few of the games in the franchise.

One complaint I’ve seen people make about the games in this series is that they have a relatively short lifespan, with player numbers apparently dropping off after 2–3 months and lobbies eventually becoming filled with bots.
My questions are:

1. Why is this such a common occurrence with games in this series?

2. Do you think Gallipoli has the potential to be a game that maintains a healthy player base long-term?

Thanks again, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the game over the weekend.

483 Meter and 331 Meter Machine Gun kills while suppressing on Suez.

Just raking suppressing MG fire at the final cap and got some lucky kills. Highest of the game so far?

Roadmap

Gallipoli only just released, but we’re hitting the ground running! The next free content update is already in its final stages and set to release quite soon: Ali Al Muntar.

Just like with Isonzo it’s our ambition to cover as much of the wider middle eastern and Ottoman fronts as possible. We have an ambitious roadmap planned for the coming years. We have divided this into several “Expeditions”, the first of which goes live at launch. Each Expedition contains multiple free content updates with a map, weapons, and new features.

Each of these has a specific theme. For instance, we look forward to bring you the battle of Chunuk-Bair and the New Zealand involvement in the Third Expedition.

We also look forward to the Caucasus front, and including the significant French Participation in future expeditions.

In these updates and in-between we will also focus on ongoing quality of life features such as engine improvements, bot AI, onboarding, and much more. We are also grateful to incorporate any feedback we receive from the community as we build the Gallipoli campaign and the wider Ottoman fronts together with you.

Interview with Indy Neidell

We invited Indy Neidell to the Gallipoli Press Event at Seddülbahir Fortress on V Beach, and sat down for a talk! Join our conversation about the game, the Ottoman Fronts, and the beautiful location they're at.

Thank you

It’s a true privilege to be able to work on the ww1 game series for our fourth game already. We want to especially thank the players who been with us since the 2012 early beta days. We’ve spent the past 14 years building the franchise and trying to do justice to World War I.

Gallipoli is an important step for the WW1 Game Series, allowing us to explore a lesser-known front of the war and bring the Gallipoli beach landings to life in multiplayer. We’ve also taken the graphical fidelity and gunplay to the next level, while staying true to what defines our series, with its authenticity and intense close quarters combat dialed up to 11. We can’t wait to see players experience the Gallipoli campaign and the wider Ottoman Fronts together.

Just like with Isonzo we’re looking forward to our extensive roadmap and exploring the Ottoman fronts!

---

Now, it’s about time you jump into Gallipoli. For King and Country! Zafer Bizim Olacak!

So it’s been an hour what are your first impressions?

Now for me personally it’s a blast and the objectives feel like you need to actually strategize. The guns on the other hand are way bulkier and feel less like small sticks with no punch and the suppression system with the guy panicking is really good

Yet one complaint I have is that the maps feel like they could fit more people and leaving it at 50 is rather empty sometimes

So in my opinion they went above and beyond with this one

What do you think about optimization?

I’m only getting around 60–80 FPS on my laptop with an i7-13650HX, 24 GB RAM, and an RTX 5070, even with DLSS set to Performance and medium-high settings. It’s really frustrating. What kind of performance are you guys getting?
