Never before have LMG's been THIS bad in this context. With how many players treat them like submachine guns, maybe the devs should make LMG hipfire wayyy less accurate or even remove that option.

I'd prefer having them way less accurate and make players have to rely on their pistol/ rifle when standing, only reliably using their LMG when it's set up in prone (like how it SHOULD be used).

It's bad enough only Entente has the LMG class as of yet, but I swear to God. Every match I encounter LMG players treating it like they're Rambo, or in some super old black and white WW2 movie with that over-the-top submachine gun hipfire nonsense.

##EDIT

I am genuinely astounded by the sheer amount of people reading this in bad faith. Look:

  • should a Lewis (not even including Hotchkiss) be hipfired with relative ease and comfort compared to other LMG's as per IRL? Absolutely

  • should you be able to hipfire a Lewis or Hotchkiss with the absolute ease of an SMG like a MP18 or tommy gun? Obviously not

Just make hipfiring an LMG like it was in Isonzo and people will switch to their secondary gun and mainly only use their LMG in prone (or otherwise with the bipod) as has majority been the case since Verdun. Simple as.

Officers, LGM's, and Snipers ONLY!! ffs

With the exception of MAYBE pistols for the bomber and/ or stretcher bearer class(es), but only if they're revolvers that you need to cock back before every shot like the reichsrevolver; something that isn't rapid-fire.

Campaign idea: English king POV only.

Either in vanilla or the JLMP Vanilla Kingdoms 2023 mod (the one Pilps uses in his videos) which also gives you Wales and Ireland in the campaign. Play as England using the Generals camera setting, have automatic city management turned on so you need to have generals in settlements in order to enforce your will. Then AR every battle except when using your king, then you fight manually which means the camera stays on your king at all times.

Between fighting the factions in the British Isles, the French, and crusading enemies, you have to strategize who to send. Do you send a captain which may rebel? Do you send a general which could leave a settlement on automatic management? Do you go yourself to fight manually and not rely on AR (but you have to lead as YOU and not as an invisible face in the sky)?

Also, you act as the king. He gains a trait, you act according to that trait. He's insane and makes bad decisions, you do to. Etc.

Could work with other factions of course, but seems extra challenging for England due to having three factions on the Isles and the French to the south. Maybe playing as Papal States, Russia, or Turks would be interesting.

Between Etruria & Samnium in HatG (since pre-Social Wars) & Rome's start position in the GC, this is my guess as to what Rome's historical borders would be at the end of RotR.

  • Pyrrhus conquered Taras and the Iapygians when Epirus invaded Italy

  • makes sense that Agyrion would still be in northern Sicily

  • Aritim is shown as having hegemony over the Etruscan League since their faction banner and colour are the same used for Etruria in the GC

The rest is guesswork but I'm trying to match the GC borders while using some educated guesses. Do you think any changes would make it more accurate?

(obviously in DEI most of these factions aren't playable so I'm mainly looking at Rome's borders but I figured I'd fill out the rest of the RotR map just 'cause)

A future episode intro that's been in my head the last few months or so.

the camera fades out of black, showing a modern coastal city in the northern Atlantic; after about 7-10 seconds, a familiar voice starts narrating

Narrator: A few years ago, in 2041, a reporter from Norway named Ingrid Johansen arrived in the city of Boston.

camera snaps to a shot of the city from street view, then as the narrator continued to speak, it shot to a close-up of some flowers in the park, then to people walking passed one another, then another close-up of a plaque near the top of a government building, worn down over the decades

Narrator: Upon arrival, there was a notable scent of sea breeze by the coast, and the noise of a large city further in. She asked the people she passed by how they felt about living there, to which they all replied in similar fashion.

Person 1: I enjoy living in this community. This city is so old and full of rich history, and I could hardly think of a better people to live in it with.

Person 2: You will hardly find a better place to live here. Well, New York of course if we're strictly talking cities, but if we're talking states then, well, it has to be here, and Boston is naturally the best part of it.

camera snaps to birds flying by the port, then to people sitting outside a cafe smiling as they talk

Narrator: Ingrid also heard the comments she expected to hear.

cuts to people with worried looks on their faces, then someone drinking and smoking on their balcony in scrubs with tired eyes

Person 3: I hate it. I hate living here. Well, I grew up here and loved it before, but things are different now, yes, they're different now.

Person 4: I get - I totally understand how fortunate I am given the circumstances. I'm not from here. I grew up in a trailer park in Fairview, Oklahoma. Believe me, I fully realize how fortunate I am. I have family here and they're the reason I was able to easily move here and remake my life. But I had visited Boston a number of times before, and I know what it was like before. Even here, things are different now, and I just want to move. Hopefully to Spain or Belgium.

Person 5: I'm getting by. I want to be doing a lot better, but I also know I could be doing a lot worse. I'd love to move to your country of Norway, or any of the other Scandinavian countries, or maybe New Zealand, or China.

the camera cuts to the sky, light clouds hanging above as one bird flies past, then cuts back to the city

Narrator: She planned to interview people from coast to coast, from the Great Lakes to the deserts far to the south. Time and time again she was warned by the city dwellers that, for her safety, she should stick to Boston, New York City, Providence, and New Haven within New England. If she wished to travel through to Chicago and Detroit then she should go through Canada, then also via Canada to the Pacific cities. They said if she went too far inland, there was a sizable chance she'd be robbed, killed, or worse. They said it was not just the people, but the lack of resources, the intense heat, and the vast Prion's Disease that is often in the very dirt itself.

as he's saying this, the camera cuts to the Great Plains, the Southwestern deserts, abandoned cheaply made mcmansion towns far from any natural source of water

the camera then cuts to several different areas from the California valleys to Appalachia

Narrator: Ingrid decided to just visit and report on the small handful of large cities in New England she was close to, then to return to Norway and better plan on future trips to places like Chicago and Seattle for future reporting.

cuts back to footage from all across Boston

Narrator: As Ingrid Johansen flew back home, she sat in her seat and endlessly pondered a question that's especially been eating at her after personally witnessing all she had on this trip.

camera cuts to a wide shot of Boston as a whole, slowly zooming out as he continues

Narrator: She thought, "Why are there so few safe places left?" "What does the future look like for these people?" and "How could the absolute wealthiest and most powerful country in all of history have possibly come crashing down?"

que the introduction music that ends the prologue, slowly fades in the title card - 'Fall of Civilizations', music continues, more text fades in - 'Episode 52... The United States... Collapse of Global Hegemony', music plays for five seconds more before the narrator continues and the camera cuts to him observing some ruins

Narrator: My name is Paul Cooper, and you're listening to the 'Fall of Civilizations' podcast. Each episode, I look at a civilization of the past that rose to glory and then collapsed into the ashes of history. I want to ask, "What do they have in commom? What lead to their fall? And what did it feel like to be a person alive at the time to witness the end of their world? In this episode, I want to go back to the very beginning and look at all the factors which lead to the formation, height, and supposedly sudden fall of this truly history-defining and world-altering country, still so recent to us in living memory."

music fades out, screen fades to black

begins a 5 hours episode that's part one of 6 on the US

As an 'Isonzo' engineer main, this hurts so much...

I swear they did this to nerf me since I'm the best defensive engi in *Isonzo* (self proclaimed title but also very much deserved, yada yada yada). This is definitely in the top 3 worst things about *Gallipoli* so far despite it very much being the best game in the series to date (that much is already obvious).

Turkish: "Allahu Akbar!" Urdu: "Allahu Akbar!" English 17 year old who spent his whole life in rural northern England:

Obviously Ottomans are the most fun to play in this game (and Brits + ANZAC I've been playing for years in *Verdun*) but I'm also very much enjoying as Indian and it's nice to hear them say stuff like this so it's not just assumed they're all Hindus or Sikhs (not that it matters much I'm just nerding out at this amazing game overall).

Gonna move in fee months, take my cat with me or keep her with parents?

My cat lives with me and my parents, and we also have two other cats whom she gets along well with. I've had my cat since April of 2016 when she was three months old, so nearly a decade and she and I have bonded soo much. Planning to move from flyover red state to coastal blue state, and I want to take her with me but I currently see pros and cons which I'll list below:

Take Her With Me

- since she's extremely bonded with me and feels immensely comfortable with me, even if everything else chances I'd be that one constant and it's potentially the best constant in her mind

- hopefully it's cool enough in the next three or four months that driving all that ways isn't a problem for her

- my gf (in said coastal blue state) has a cat and potentially they can eventually get along (but upon listing stuff I realize I should check if that's her parent's cat)

- She already has all her shots, is fixed, and is great health and mood (only needing a specific medicine fry food)

If I Leave Her

- she most likely has between 5-10 years left so her obviously not being able to understand me moving and would potentially get somewhat depressed

- even though she'd have me, her whole world (the house she's lived in basically her whole life and my parents she interacts with daily) will be gone and change, to say nothing of being in a cat crate for twelve-ish hours a day for two days might freak her out

- even if only temporarily (be it my gf's cat can move in Sith her or we get a new kitten) my cat will be lonely for a bit, if not a while, and not have the other two cats she's so used to

- studio apartment is smaller than house so less to run around/ explore (especially with fewer things, rooms, and closests to run around/ explore), might end up laying around more

- against my wishes (parents have always partially declawed their cats and made no exception for mine to avoid ruining furniture or injuring other cats that done have them) my cat doesn't have her front set of claws, so even adding another cat could potentially be a problem for her since I would never declaw any cats I adopt but she's not used to playing with cats with front claws, could get hurt

- (this is more selfish on my part) moving from a flyover state to a relatively well-off place, I would wish to go out and explore my new home environment. Between that and any vacations, I would be locked down to being back at my place at certain times to feed her since I possibly wouldn't have anyone (at least for a while) to watch her. Potentially easily solvable and again selfish but figured I'd mention

There may be other things I'm missing right now but I just wanted to put my thoughts to paper and ask here for anyone that may have some expertise on this topic. I guess it boils down to choosing between her having her very bonded to owner but everything else changes and she doesn't know why or everything stays the same for her except her very bonded to owner leave and she doesn't know why, potentially her getting down degree of depression as a result of either.

My take on *approximately* what M3's map could look like at the end of its life cycle with all the land extensions added in. (details below)

Made this some months back but like ummmmmm... the current map has an even smaller scope than in M2 but also they said there would likely be land expansions. So like, hopefully it gets at least as big as Attila's map scope by the end. Wanted to share this anyway because of the timing (obviously I don't expect CA to actually do this exactly, but at the very least was expecting/ am hoping for it to be Attila sized + India).

ALSO - Keep in mind the scale would ideally be at least 1.5x as big as in Attila, so add another 50% to the size of places like France, Italy, Britain, Iberia, etc. That combined with having more regions within Europe than any previous TW would mean this map has all-around more Europe than anything prior. So it's not like this map is anti-Europe or anything. Literally the opposite.

My take on a future *Shogun III* and honestly what I hope CA does (more below).

Instead of just having Japan it has the Ryukyuan Islands, all of Hokkaido, the Kuril Islands, southern Sakhalin, the Manchurian coast, Korea, a tiny bit of China, and the archipelago south of Japan because it fits within the frame of the map. Instead of just the Japanese as the sole people from this part of the world, there are also the Ryukyuans, Ainu, Manchus, Koreans, and Chinese/ Mongols. Not to mention foreigners throughout the main and DLC campaigns. Japan's the primary focus with many more regions than vanilla S2 but not enough to cause siege spam; Korea's no pushover, and the map is as big as in WH3 Immortal Empires.

Just replayed both games' campaigns yesterday for the first time in like eight years. <3

Genuinely both are so good in their own ways. Plus, in the same way people watch ANH immediately after Rogue One, starting 2017 BF2's story right after finishing 2005 BF2's story is quite nice.
