Need advice for ABC trek from Pokhara — guide recommendations & current weather?

Hey everyone,

Me and my friends are planning to do the ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) trek. We’ll be reaching Pokhara on the 25th and are planning to start the hike on the 26th.

Wanted to get some advice from locals or people who recently did the trek:

- Do we absolutely need a guide for ABC right now?

- If yes, do you have any good guide/agency recommendations?

- How’s the real-time weather and visibility in the mountains these days?

We’re really hoping to get some clear mountain views and enjoy the scenery. Any tips or suggestions would be super helpful. Thanks!

Looking for cofounders for an already established Airbnb business venture in Pokhara

Hello everyone, this is a repost cause we didn't get enough submissions in our last post.

TL;DR - We are looking for an energetic person to team up with us as a cofounder-level partner in our already-running Airbnb business venture.

Fill up this form

I'm one of the co-founders of Tapas Stays and we are opening for anyone who wants to invest in an already running AirBnB business venture, we have just been open for a year and the feedback has been great, what started as a side project experiment from a group of 3 friends has now turned into a real business, and we know the direction that we want to head towards.

So we are looking for someone energetic who wants to get involved in hospitality business in pokhara and sees their long term future in our own country Nepal.

Hotel recommendations in Pokhara (Lakeside)

Hi everyone,
A group of us are planning a trip to Pokhara soon. We are looking for a reliable, comfortable, and affordable hotel to stay at near the Lakeside area.

Ideally, we are looking for a place that offers:
Good Views: Decent views of the lake or mountains if possible.
Meal Packages (MAP/CP): Base pricing options that include both breakfast and dinner (or at least a very good breakfast package).
Budget-Friendly: Clean, nice aesthetics, but won't break the bank.

I recently heard about a hotel booking platform called Basiyo, but I am not entirely sure how reliable they are for booking hotels or if their listed prices are accurate. Has anyone here used them before? How was your experience?

If you have any specific hotel recommendations near Lakeside that fit this description, could you please drop the names along with their estimated price per night?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Moving to Pokhara as a digital nomad — what's the real scene like? (video editor transitioning into SaaS)

Hey Pokhara folks 👋

I'm planning to shift to Pokhara in the coming months as a digital nomad and trying to figure out the logistics before I make the move.

A bit about me: I'm a freelance video editor (short-form, YouTube content) and I'm slowly transitioning into building SaaS products on the side. Video editing is currently paying the bills (barely lol), so I'm not rolling in money but I'm not broke either. Pokhara feels like the right move; lower cost of living, good vibes, and ideally a community of people working on similar stuff.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

  • 1 BHK cost — What's a decent 1BHK running for, within 1–3km from Lakeside/city center? Furnished vs unfurnished difference? Any areas to target or avoid?
  • Hostel dorms — Is this a smarter short-term option while I get settled? Any nomad-friendly hostels with good wifi and a work-friendly vibe?
  • Shared flats — Are there any digital nomads already based there looking for a flatmate? Open to this if the setup makes sense.
  • General expenses — Rough monthly budget for a simple lifestyle? (rent + food + internet + misc)
  • Internet reliability — How's the fiber situation? Any ISPs worth recommending?

Also genuinely curious: Is there much of a remote work / indie hacker scene in Pokhara? Or is it mostly tourists passing through? Would love to know if there are co-working spots, or even just cafes where people actually sit and grind.

If you're already based in Pokhara as a digital nomad, freelancer, or are building something online — would love to connect. Especially if you're into video content, SaaS, or just the indie maker lifestyle in general.

Drop a comment or DM. Appreciate any help 🙏
