Type or Handwrite Observation/Shadowing

This may be a silly question but is it preferred when filling out shadowing forms to write them by hand or to type them out. I find adding all the texts to the PDF sheets many schools provide a little annoying and would prefer to write it out. However, I do not want to come off as unprofessional. I know they will eventually be needed to be printed to obtain the perfusionists signature I just didnt know if the additionally information should be typed. Thank you!

Pharmacology class online

Does anyone know of a pharmacology class I could take online, only need it to be one credit. Would prefer if it’s flexible start so I can start earlier and self paced. One school requires it and the school I graduated from doesn’t even offer pharmacology.

Thomas Jefferson’s shadowing form - what is the blank after operating room supposed to be?

The only thing I could think of is it’s supposed to be the operating room number but I don’t understand why that would be relevant. Just wanted other opinions. Also what if I don’t know what operating room number I was in?

USC Perfusion Program Tuition

Just saw that USC raised their tuition by almost 8%. It went from $149,000 to $161,499. That’s outrageous.

Emory current/future students

I have been given early acceptance into the Emory program for 2027, wondering if any current or entering students could give me some info on schedule, tuition, program layout so that I can better plan for next year. I have a wife and 2 kids and we all currently live out of state, so trying to see next best steps if I am to go there in 2027. Feel free to DM me as well-Thanks!

High school student exploring Perfusionist as an alternative to vet school

High School Student Exploring Perfusion as an Alternative to Vet School

I’m an upcoming senior in high school who has been planning to become a veterinarian since I was a little kid, but the amount of student debt really worries me. One of my biggest goals is to be able to move out of Florida or at least Miami because I hate it here and live independently in state that snows soon after I finish school, but the debt from vet school could make that difficult for 5–10 years or even more, depending on where I attend(since all the cheaper schools are the one where everyone wants to attend)

Earlier this year, I heard about cardiovascular perfusion as a career, but I forgot about it because I assumed it required the same amount of schooling as medical school. After doing some research recently, I was surprised to learn that it usually takes around six years total (including undergrad), has excellent pay, and can offer a better work-life balance than many other healthcare careers, depending on where you work.

I’m now considering it as a possible alternative, and I have a few questions:
\-Are the undergraduate prerequisites for perfusion school similar to those for veterinary school?
\-Which colleges in Florida offer a perfusion program? If Florida doesn’t have many options, what other states have accredited perfusion programs?
\-What undergraduate degree is best if I want to apply to perfusion school?
\-What do perfusion programs look for in applicants (GPA, healthcare experience, shadowing, etc.)?
I’d really appreciate hearing from any perfusionists, current students, or anyone familiar with the application process. Thank you!

I’m still planning on applying to veterinary school. However, if I decide veterinary medicine isn’t the right career for me, or if I don’t get accepted, and by then I’ve shadowed a perfusionist and found that I genuinely enjoy the work, then I plan to apply to perfusion school as well.

Also does anyone know of any shadowing opportunities in or at least near Miami, Florida?
