What do you do with box set obis?

Individual cases are easy to keep the obi under the case’s exterior plastic sheath. In fact, they come that way. What do you do with the obi from a box set once you take it out of the shrink? Leaving them on the outside of the box seems like they’ll just get bent up

Where are the commentaries recorded? Round the bins?

I recently bought a couple of Radiance doubles and god I loved the actual films.

I don't really do bts features/commentaries (just my preference) but I figured I'd give them a go last night.

I heard audio peaking (sp?) throughout the commentary and also I swear I heard an email notification come through for one of the commenters.

I don't want to name the film/commenters but, like, are they all homemade like this?

Radiance have announced their upcoming release of NADJA will be upgraded to UHD

Kind of annoying as someone who preordered the Arbelos BD after Radiance/Transmission initially confirmed they won't release a UHD, yet at the same time, I prefer the Transmission artwork while also maintaining the Arbelos has the stronger set of extras with those short films, so I'll likely get the Transmission and swap the BDs. (Hopefully, someone out there will only want the Transmission BD and I can sell it to them.)

For those interested in MIAMI BLUES 4K: I implore you to email Radiance ASAP and request that the included Blu-Ray be sourced from the 4K remaster as well, rather than the same disc they previously released

UPDATE: Fran confirmed the included Blu-Ray IS remastered! https://criterionforum.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=873872#p873872

Bruno @ Radiance has previously said that whether or not UHD upgrades of pre-existing Radiance titles will include remastered BDs will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Judging by the wording in the description, this won't have a remastered Blu-Ray as it looks like that of The Hot Spot 4K before Radiance accommodated the change, and why did Radiance accommodate that change in the end? Because we asked them to. I understand not remastering the included Blu-Ray of Planet in the Vampires as it was already sourced from the same 4K scan despite being a 2K master, but the current Blu-Ray of Miami Blues that exists is sourced from an extremely dated master, and including a newly remastered BD would be beneficial for sales as it would make this release appeal to collectors who do not have an intention of going the 4K route but want a remastered Blu-Ray of the film.

So, if you're interested in Miami Blues 4K and/or don't own a 4K setup but want a 4K-remastered Blu-Ray of it, I implore you to email Radiance ASAP and make your voice heard.

November 2026 Release: Miami Blues (UHD + BD LE) [UK/US]

Pre-Order Here

George Armitage (Grosse Pointe Blank) adapted celebrated noir author Charles Willeford’s novel Miami Blues for the screen with new star Alec Baldwin in the lead role as sociopathic criminal Frederick J. Frenger, Jr. Arriving in Miami fresh out of jail he commits one crime after another when he meets young hooker Susie (Jennifer Jason Leigh, Single White Female) who he starts to build a pseudo married life with, including the home cooking and the white picket fence. As Frederick tries to juggle domesticity with his mounting crimes, dogged cop Hoke Moseley (Fred Ward, Tremors) threatens to put his freedom in jeopardy. Baldwin is brilliant as the unhinged criminal tearing through Miami while Armitage perfectly balances the humour and violence in this singular crime comedy that betrays the quirky influence of producer Jonathan Demme (Something Wild, Married to the Mob).

November 2026 Release: Simone Barbès or Virtue (LE) [UK/US]

Pre-Order Here

Working as an usherette at a porn cinema, Simone (Ingrid Bourgoin) squabbles with her colleague as they welcome their peculiar clientele. After her shift, she waits for her girlfriend at a lesbian nightclub full of eccentric characters, before sharing a slow drive home with a stranger. Produced by Paul Vecchiali’s Diagonale (Rosa la rose, fille publique), Marie-Claude Treilhou’s mercurial triptych is rich in style, funny detail, and heady atmosphere. Queer for the marginal stories it tells and for its offbeat, aesthetic blend of irony and sincerity, Simone Barbès or Virtue is a gem of the post-post-New Wave, capturing both the thrilling possibilities and compelling absurdities of nighttime Paris.

  • 4K scan and restoration by Cosmodigital

November 2026 Release: A Free Woman (LE) [UK/US]

Pre-Order Here

On the cusp of marriage, Liana becomes convinced she shouldn't live a life in service of a man. Instead, she leaves for Amalfi, where she embarks on an affair. From there she makes for Paris, but each new adventure is compromised by some kind of emotional constraint, culminating in a final act of tragedy. Vittorio Cottafavi's emotionally complex story exhibits the melodramatic finesse of Douglas Sirk with a style reminiscent of Max Ophuls. A remarkably modern exploration of female autonomy, A Free Woman has been newly restored by Radiance and is presented on home video for the first time outside of Italy.

BLU-RAY LIMITED EDITION SPECIAL FEATURES

  • 2K restoration from the original negative by Radiance Films
