I wore my biker jacket, tucked Ramones shirt, and loosened black necktie. In the summer heat. I also visited Rockaway Beach, but not much there.
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, I’ve noticed something strange: the Ramones are almost never mentioned in articles or YouTube videos about the music that shaped America.
They were one of the most influential bands of the 20th century and helped create punk rock one of America’s biggest musical exports. Whether you like them or not, it’s hard to deny their impact.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Adopted this little punk about 4 years ago she came from the shelter as Eloise. She is infact not a dainty little kit and before I moved put four 15 pound male cats in their places. My 7 pound gargoyle.
I don’t wanna
I snagged this shirt at an estate sale and from what I can tell, it’s from the early 90s? I can’t find anything even close online, any ideas if this was actual merch or an old bootleg? Either way, interesting find! (Collar tag is missing)
I've just looked the band's official website and it seems abandoned:
Completely empty except for the classic logo. The band deserved better. For how long has it been that way?
This is a good set, in spite of it being 100+ degrees, and Joey's mic troubles.
Interview with Johnny about it:

This week's post on the Ramones' official profile:
Next month, two Ramones releases are hitting local retailers through Rhino's "Spirit of '76" campaign, celebrating classic albums from America's bicentennial.
‘Ramones’ The debut album picture disc featuring the iconic cover photo by Roberta Bayley available in US & CA Only.
‘Ramones: Live at The Roxy 1976’ Two legendary sets from the band’s first US tour, recorded during their first show in Los Angeles on August 12, 1976. This is the first time both sets are on LP in their entirety.
I personally like that Roxy recording a lot. Which do you think is the best live recording without overdubs?
Does anyone know the relationship between them early on? I’m fascinated that the Ramones didn’t really seem to associate with them or at least I haven’t read much. Given they both were around NY,loved horror and were inspired by 50’s music, I’d think the Ramones would have maybe highlighted them in some way. Never saw Joey wear a shirt or Johnny mention them at all given how much he loved horror and Elvis. They seemed to just not coexist in the punk scene.
3CD compilation from 2014. 2 discs of Ramones members solo or moonlighting with other acts, and 1 disc of oldies that were covered by the boys. A fun listen all around, possibly the best volume in this series of budget line compilations.
