New stomach skin rash.. help!?

50 yrs old, Female, Immunocompromised, Been battling 7 months in bed, 3 dermatologists that broke me down. Started with dry eyes, demodex blepharitis, full blown demodicosis, to now hair loss, things biting me bad, go through different rash/mite phases. These pictures are most concerning. They are new on my stomach ( entire body's broken out) but these bumps are new. Im in a flare up now so my big bag dance parry hairs are going off, my ears are burning and bright red, my eyes and mouth so dry. I checked for bed bugs. Could this be something else... ive researched a lot about scabies but dont think k so??? Morgallons 1000% and on fire because of the flare up kicking in. My scalp has malezzia and ive tried everything. Everything ive read about shingles well the newer stomach rash doesn't hurt. My entire body is on fire in pain, head itching like crazy, fibers are breaking out, my face is absolutely wrecked with inflammation and mass break out.

Coming out of my eyes, ears, bellybutton, completely covered head to toe inside and out. Don't sleep.average 3 nights a week. I will NOT go back to a dermatologist- unbelievable, gaslighting, demeaning, never even used a derma scope, all but psychiatric... They're awful, just to save face.... while laid up in bed 7 months in horror.

Please will anyone weigh in on thus new stomach rash? Thank you!

tacrolimus 0.1% ointment.

okay so this is gonna be pretty long but please share opinions and experiences.

starting off i am extremely new to sebderm. like a couple of days new. but here is my story:

early june i developed a red rash that kinda looked like eczema on my forehead. i thought it was a broken skin barrier because of dryness and flakes so i started using cerave hydrating facial cleanser and aquaphor as an occlusive at night. ( i had been already using cerave daily facial moisturizer and aquaphor on my eyebrows everyday for years.) some days it was bad and some days it looked way better. until it started to spread to my cheeks and it got supppper infected ( honey colored crust and weeping) it was bad so i went to the ER and got prescribed doxycycline (1 week course) and prednisone (5day course). after my course was up ofc the redness came back but very minor to my forehead as this was the start of it coming back but i went to a dermatologist and she thought it was contact dermatitis (after showing her pictures and videos over the course of weeks) so she prescribed me hydrocortisone ( not the 1% otc but the dermatologist %, sorry i dont exactly remember lol) but i used that for a week and my skin was FLAWLESS. i applied that to my forehead twice a day for a week. so once that was up it took a total of 4 days for redness to come back. but this time it came back on my forehead AND eyebrows so she told me it was okay to use the hydrocortisone where needed for an additional week. so i did just that and my face was FLAWLESS once again so im thinking yay my contact dermatitis is gone. but wow was i in for a ride. okay so a few days later i was all in the clear and then over night i started to have some minor redness to my eyebrows and small patches on my forehead. BUT i also started developing these bumps and redness all around my mouth and inner cheeks. then came the (now diagnosed by johns hopkins derm) perioral bumps on my inner cheeks/ around mouth so i went back to see her and she diagnosed me with ONLY sebderm , but i felt so rushed in her office and felt as though it wasn’t what i had because it just didn’t make sense to me at the time bc it didn’t look as close to what seb derm looked like. but she prescribed me ketoconazole cream for my face , ketoconazole shampoo for my scalp. and the romuliflast (zoryve) foam. so i go home and i start the ketoconazole cream which was once a day and i used that for about 3 days. but i still just felt like i didn’t have sebderm so i got a new dermatologist with johns hopkins (yay bc they’re top rated in my state). i seen my derm and he was very patient and listened to my whole story and even checked my body and scalp and i got to show him pictures / vids of my progression. well there he diagnosed me with sebderm and periorfiscial dermatitis ( perioral dermatitis that spread a little) so he prescribed me the tacrolimus ointment and clindamycin : tacrolimus for my forehead , outer cheeks and eyebrows and then clindamycin for around my mouth and inner cheeks. i also switched my moisturizer to vanicream facial moisturizer (and wow. it is so hydrating. cerave has never felt like this lol) and i also have just started using there cleanser. today is my first day using vanicream and also applying the tacrolimus to my forehead and eyebrows and a little on my outer cheeks. my clindamycin has not been verified yet and is still pending but the sebderm is what is really being shown on my face the most since it is directly on my forehead and eyebrows. so i started that early , but ive also been doing some research because i am a hypochondriac and let me just say this here. i have crohn’s disease and i am on humira. and the drug interaction between humira and tacrolimus is NOT GOOD. so i’ve messaged my derm just to see where to go with that. also i did not experience any burning / tingling sensation when applying the ointment lol. but i just wanted to ask about anyone’s experience with this ointment in general and if anyone else is using this while also being on humira (adalimumab).

Thanks to whoever read all of this im so sorry it was a lot. just a hypochondriac looking for anyone in my similar boat lol. this is all new to me as i’ve always had clear skin all my life but i am so lucky to have found a group on here with sebderm :)

Struggling with a severe, spreading facial rash (triggered by antibiotics/metformin?), plus ADHD/OCD sensory nightmare. Looking for advice or similar experiences.

(I apologise if this is not the right sub for this)

Hi everyone, I am at my absolute breaking point and could really use some shared experiences or advice.

For about 7–8 years, I’ve had a chronic, weird fungus-like/eczema rash popping up in random places (body, intims, scalp, face). I have seen countless doctors over the years, but they never really wanted to do anything proactive or find a real solution—they just hand over random creams and brush it off or say that taking a sample just gives me a scar.

Recently, it absolutely locked onto my forehead and scalp. Doctors gave me Elidel and Ciclopirox (Elidel helps temporarily, but it always comes back). Interestingly, they found it weird that it appears on oily skin, and Ketoconazole actually makes it much worse instead of better.

Three weeks ago, after taking a 10-day course of antibiotics and starting Metformin (for my Insulin Resistance), my face completely exploded. It is spreading rapidly: it moved from my forehead down next to my nose, onto my cheeks, right under my eyes, and connected with my eyebrow. It's like a huge, red, raw, painful half-circle with an oily yet scaly border. It looks like a map at this point.

To make things so much worse, I have ADHD and OCD. The texture and sensory feeling of the scales and the intense itching are driving me completely insane. My brain treats the uneven texture like an emergency, and the presence of flakes triggers severe anxiety because it feels "unhygienic." I am fighting every fiber of my being not to scratch or scrub it off.

I am currently doing nothing (just basic care, like a cerave creme, la roche posay cleanser) but it keeps expanding toward my mouth and eyes. I already tried no skin care or no cremes at all, but it made it even worse.

Has anyone experienced a flare-up triggered by antibiotics or Metformin like this? How do you cope with the texture/sensory nightmare of facial flakes when you have OCD/ADHD without destroying your skin barrier? Or what could this even be? Any advice or sub recommendations would mean the world to me.

Distilled water for flare up relief on scalp.

Hello all, I have been lurking for a while and taking some suggestions from this sub, this is my first time posting.

tldr; Try using distilled water to reduce flare ups/irritation.

For background I am from South Florida. I have had seb derm since I was in my teens. I believe my it is due to my PCOS. While living in Florida I always kept it at bay by going to the beach at least 2x a month and rinsing my scalp in the saltwater. Yes it dried out my hair, but it also helped reduce the flare ups so I didn’t mind.

Fast forward to 2021, I moved to Central Texas and within the year the flare ups became harder to control. I have tried several things from shampoos to solutions, dyeing my hair with dye containing ammonia, cutting carbs out etc. I can say I’ve tried most things.

In Texas, on a random day, I realized when I washed dishes that the water droplets caused scaling on the counter. I started looking into the water hardness in my area in Texas and found that it could reach up to 320 PPM and has a lot of contaminants. Coincidentally, whenever I visit my parents in Florida or leave the country, my seb derm flare ups reduce significantly. I mean almost completely gone. To confirm my suspicions, I went on a cruise in February and cruise water is filtered through RO systems and my seb derm also reduced significantly while on the cruise.

So currently, I live in an apartment and the water filters do not last even 2 months because the water is so hard. I simply cannot afford to keep purchasing filters. As an alternative, I started using distilled water. (Shout out to r/distilledwaterhair)

While distilled water is NOT the solution, I still wanted to share this on here for anyone who has not tried this yet. Distilled water is around $1.50/gallon and does not have any minerals or contaminants that will sit on your scalp and further irritate it. To me, it has been worth the cost and the time. Although it has not changed the oiliness yet, it has reduced the scales and the itchiness for me.

I simply rinse with distilled water, shampoo, and remove the shampoo with the distilled water. I have not let any shower water touch my scalp. I also do not use conditioner because if it even touches my scalp it will cause a flare up, and the conditioner may be hard to rinse out with the distilled water. I use leave in conditioner instead while my hair is still wet.

Some people use a squirt bottle, but since I have long hair I purchased a portable camping shower head (about $30USD) and a bucket. I fill the bucket with distilled water 1 gallon at a time and wash it well once a week. I have yet to add a tablespoon of vinegar but feel free to do that as well if it’s already part of your routine. Hope this helps! 💗

NEED HELP

im at my wit's end. nothing is helping my 2 year old clear his staph/eczema on his face. he literally screams bloody murder, runs, kicks, etc whenever I try and apply anything. I'll get it close to clear then he'll scratch, rub and tear his skin off again in the night. I try my best to stay awake to prevent him but there is only so much I can do :( weve been battling staph/eczema for at least a year. his face just wont get better. tried hypochlorus spray, Probiotic sprays, used mupirocin ointment for far too long. ive read some parents have applied hibiclens but idk if thats safe for his face. hoping someone has a solution i haven't tried yet. 💙

UPDATE: I just received his stool test results and i have no idea if this plays a role in his eczema but in the Dysbiotic Flora column, they're are these bacteria listed: -Enterobacter Cloacae Complex -Klebsiella Oxytoca -Klebsiella Pneumoniae

In the Commensal (imbalanced) Flora:

  • Rothia Dentocariosa -Rothia Mucilaginosa -Staphylococcus Aureus -Staphylococcus Epidermidis -Streptococcus Salivarius/vestibularis

if anyone has additional info on these while I wait for doctor appointment and do my own pubmed research id appreciate it 💙💙

Ringworm? Or Contact Dermatitis or something else?

My son had ringworm on the side of his arm (1st Photo). He then had a spot in his armpit that I thought was ringworm, so I put Lamasil on that as well (last 3 photos). He now has all these tiny bumps. I’m thinking this is some type of contact dermatitis, since his underarm skin is more sensitive. Just curious what this looks like to everyone else. Are all these tiny spots ringworm spreading or do you think it’s just a skin sensitivity to the lamasil?

How I finally fixed my dry itchy scalp with a once a week treatment (and why auditing product ingredients saved me)

If you're like me and only wash your hair once a week, finding a routine that actually hydrates your scalp without triggering irritation is exhausting. I finally had to hit reset, drop all the random products I was using, and strictly audit my ingredient labels to make sure nothing was feeding Malassezia (the yeast living on the scalp that causes flare-ups, redness, and itch when it feeds on the wrong ingredients).

Cutting out harsh chemical exfoliants and stripping products made all the difference. Here is the simple, soothing routine that finally worked:

My Once-A-Week Wash Day Routine:

  1. Aloe Treatment: On dry hair, apply pure aloe vera to my scalp, let it dry completely, and rinse. It’s a super gentle way to hydrate and soften without harsh acids and helps lift flakes.
  2. Oil Soak: Once my scalp is dry again, I apply MCT oil directly to my skin and let it sit (a few hours or overnight) If i do overnight i put my hair in a hair towel when its time for bed. this helps to lock in moisture.
  3. Cleanse: I apply my shampoo straight to my dry, oiled roots to break down the grease, then rinse. (I use SEEN Scalp Clarifying Shampoo for a hyper-gentle reset).
  4. Post-Shower: Right out of the shower while my scalp is still damp, I apply Living Proof Dry Scalp Treatment to trap moisture and stop post-wash itch before it starts. Then apply SEEN Leave-in conditioner strictly on mid-lengths and ends only!

Mid-Week Maintenance:

If a random itchy spot pops up, I just dab a single drop of MCT oil on my fingertips to spot-treat.

I just got the Crown Affair Dry Shampoo Powder to help with midweek touch ups and so far so good.

Most importantly, dropping all my old products, being vigilant when checking ingredient lists, and moving to a gentle aloe/MCT combo has made a major difference. Hope this helps someone else!

Don’t know what to do… skin is so messed up and can’t tolerate anything. Diagnosed as as Seb derm and rosacea

I have severe facial symptoms affecting my beard, eyebrows, and the rest of my face, diagnosed as rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis. Symptoms include skin barrier disruptions, dryness, tightness, burning, flaking, sensitivity, oiliness, buildup, and frequent red acne like papules under skin flaking, watery burning eyes (ocular rosacea).
These symptoms interfere with showering, tolerating cleansers, moisturizers, shampoos, and topical medications. Been to several dermatologists with no help.. tried antibiotics too many times and now she wants to try low dose accutane 20mg twice a week for two months to start but I’m scared because my skin barrier is so screwed up and can’t tolerate plain water and already affects my eyes with dryness. Pictures are at different stages of my skin the picture with acne like pustules after trying anything topical like cleansers, moisturizers or prescribed creams from the derm. Very dry picture is after a shower which comes with skin flaking build up and tightness then later oiliness and flakes. After physical activity it flares up and turns red/oily/flakes. Always building up in eyebrows and beard aswell.. just at a loss because right now I just rinse with water and even that is drying and I can’t tolerate anything. It’s really been affecting my life. Been going on for a long time and got progressively worse over the last two years. Tried changing diets and all that but nothing has made a lasting difference. Thankyou for your time.

Does this look like sub derm

This is what my eyebrows look like when I'm not moisturizing

I've tried antifungal and all kinds of stuff but the only thing that seems to help a little bit is keeping it moisturized

But even when I'm moisturizing the area still remains red

Does this look like typical sub derm?
