Chase mountain sunsets through the charm of Shimla

Shimla feels magical during sunset, with golden skies falling over pine-covered hills and colonial streets. Evening walks on Mall Road, peaceful viewpoints near Kufri, and cool mountain air create the perfect escape. The charm of toy train views, cozy cafés, and misty weather makes Shimla one of the most relaxing hill destinations in Himachal.

Summer internship in shimla

I am a third-year Information Technology student currently enrolled at an out-of-state university. I am spending my summer vacation in this area and am actively seeking a suitable internship opportunity. My preference is for a government-based role, as I am not inclined towards coding. I am open to both paid and unpaid internships, as my primary objective is to gain valuable experience.

If anyone has any knowledge or experience regarding this, please inform me as soon as possible.

Thanks

Where pine trees meet endless Shimla skies

the hill station feels like a timeless escape wrapped in mist and calm. Walking through Mall Road, soaking in Ridge views, and breathing crisp mountain air makes every moment peaceful. My stay at Silvana by ELIVAAS added to the charm, offering cozy comfort, scenic views, and a serene atmosphere that perfectly complemented Shimla’s natural beauty and relaxed, dreamy mountain vibe throughout the journey.

Mall Road must-visit places recommendations? Please suggest some great places to eat, or shop, or even stop at.

What all do you recommend as must-check-outs on Mall Road?

Cafe Shimla Times, Wake and Bake, Indian Coffee House, and Heritage Trail Cafe are some of the popular names that I have made a note of (opinions on them appreciated?), but I am more interested in experiencing the not-necessarily-touristy but great small local loved places ( or which you loved as a tourist).

Is lakkar bazaar worth going to?
What about the Gaiety Theatre?

I will be staying near the head post office. Is one night enough, or should I extend my stay by another night?

Looking for a Fully Furnished 2BHK in Shimla for 2–3 Months (for Family Stay)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a fully furnished 2BHK apartment in Shimla for a stay of around 2–3 months.

It will be for my family:

Me

My mother

My father

We’re looking for a comfortable place with all basic amenities, including:

Beds and wardrobes

Functional kitchen with stove and utensils

Refrigerator

Washing machine (not necessary)

Wi-Fi

Geyser/hot water

Reliable electricity and water supply

Parking would be a bonus (not at all needed .. Will be renting a bike for commute)

A semi-furnished apartment would also work as long as it has the essentials needed for cooking and day-to-day living.

Preferred areas:

Peaceful and scenic locations

Good road connectivity

Easy access to markets, hospitals, and basic necessities

Our goal is to spend a couple of months in the mountains and enjoy a quiet family stay.

If anyone has recommendations, leads, or contacts for owners/property managers, please feel free to comment or DM me.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Currently Stuck in Shimla — Looking for travel suggestions

Missed my Dharamshala bus from Delhi and accidentally spawned in Shimla instead 💀

Now my entire travel plan has collapsed and I’m trying to recover.

Shimla is pretty but feels too family-tourism coded for my mood right now. I wanna go somewhere colder, scenic, backpacker-heavy, youthful, café/hostel/social vibe type place.

Thinking about Kasol/Tosh/Bir/Jibhi but I have NO idea:
- how to get there from Shimla
- which one has the best crowd right now
- where solo travellers usually go
- which one is easiest without spending a fortune on taxis

Please help me redirect my life choices 🙏
