Please help me improve my carving

Hey Guys,

What I’m working toward:
More dynamic, flowing turns, better speed control while carving, and eventually carving on steeper terrain.

Problems I noticed:
In the first video in the 4th turn and after that one can see that my turn gets interrupted at the apex. Felt strange.
Overall I am rushing the turns?
In the second video the terrain may be too flat.

In the first video I am on Carving skis and in the second video I am on 90mm all mountain skis.

Please don’t hold back. Tell me everything you see. I highly appreciate your feedback. THANK YOU

(And yes I am nearly crashing into the guy twice in the first video. I deeply apologize for that.)

Where can i improve

I have been skiing for 1 season. I can see and also feel that im not leaning forward enough.

I tried focusing more on my posture but feel that when i make my turns i tend to fall back seat in the middle of the turn.

Thank you!

Carving turns and teaching analysis feedback

I’ve been starting to work on my teaching analysis for my CSIA level 3 by looking at some of my skiing from last season. I’ve watched this video a few times and some feedback I’ve concluded for myself:

  1. I’m not dynamic enough in my ankles and knees, I need to think more about rolling them onto the new edge to increase my edge angle.

  2. I’m lengthening my body too much during transition instead of maintaining a long and short leg, killing momentum and releasing pressure too slow, losing that weightlessness feeling at the end of the turn and I increasing my transition time.

Would love to hear your thoughts on my feedback, if it’s correct and any additional feedback on my turns.

Parallel skiing tips

Hey everyone! Started skiing two years ago and have been mostly self-taught through YouTube and friends, so I’d really appreciate some genuine feedback on my technique.
I initially had boots that were too big, which made ski control and turning with my ankles difficult. I’ve since switched to a smaller size and it feels much better.
My main issues now are keeping both skis in sync through the turn, and controlling my speed on steeper slopes. Sometimes I feel like I pick up speed too quickly and struggle to manage the turns.
What am I doing wrong, and what should I focus on to improve my parallel skiing?

Parallel / Advanced parallel.

Background: been skiing on and off for past couple of years (started around late 20s) Passed level 1 ski examiners course and the ski side of level 2.

I've received feedback that my extension/ vertical movement is often quite sudden, and turn shape can be compressed (round but squished).

From my own POV I feel I don't stay in the fall line enough ,rush some movements and have an overly strong side - I can side slip effortlessly on my right side but my left gets caught often.

Do you guys have any tips / drills or tactical cues? I'm happy to post more videos of some more 'advanced' style turns - looking for a fellow ski nerd to rip it apart 😅. Cheers.

Carving plateau

(In 2nd vid I’m the second person)

Story:
1st video is me “at my peak” during my second season. 2nd video too.
3rd vid is me on vacation this winter. On new skis. I have only skied one week a year after my skiseasons. But I’m finally skiing more next winter and getting the itch now in the summer heat :))

Skiing:
I’m aware that i have some tendencies with my arms out. (I’m anwärter from tiroliean ski School hehe)
Not sure how to fix but my arms can be ugly.

But other than this I’ve for a Long time had the feeling when carving that I get to a point/angle in the turn (around apex or a little before) and just stay there. Where I see better skiers more dynamically working the whole turn. Maybe I just park and ride it in the same position.

Thank you in advance for comments. Don’t hold back.
Excited for skiing next season!!!

Starting to learn better edging

I have a few problems that I notice already like the A frame. Also, from video, it looks like I am back seating a little bit, how bad is it? Need some feedback/drills, cheers.

Speed control while skiing

Hi there! I'm a 30+ year old adult just getting into this sports (it's insanely fun!) and this clip is a compilation of a couple of runs in various blue slopes in New Zealand, on my 2nd day of skiing!

My challenge is feeling out of control as I gain speed during the traverse and I feel like I have to turn very abruptly to kill speed

Is this a psychological barrier and bad technique? Would love some feedback and enlightenment please, thank you all!
