Questions about restoring this ‘71 406 Supra…

I scored this used 406 ‘71 Supra from Guitar Center for $149 ($50 off because the P85 throw off is broken) and they also listed it as an Acrolite. 😎

My questions are:

  1. What could I use to get the white stain off of the COB plating? Is it oxidation?

2)Should I just replace the P85 or try and find the broken clip to keep it original?

  1. Anyone have any idea what the stamp “RELIAB…ANTI-GALV” means?

1958 WFL Oyster Blue Pearl 5.5x14 (and kit)

Snare is 1958 WFL. The kit is 1963. For the wraps to be 5 years apart they match really well. Hardly any fade.

Need advice on which cheap snare to buy!

Working on a student budget and at the whims of my local music shops' stock. Unfortunately I'm in NZ and we don't have much variety or options on or off marketplace.

Eyeing up these options for a cheap gig snare as they're in my budget. I play shoegaze / indie rock / punk primarily. Ranked them in order of price highest to lowest. Would really appreciate some advice!

  1. Mapex Saturn Series Heavy Duty Snare (Used) 480
  2. TAMA Metalworks Limited Edition 14x6.5 Snare, Black Nickel (New) 449
  3. Pearl Custom Alloy Sensitone Steel (Used) 399
  4. Yamaha 14x6.5 Stage Custom Steel Snare (New) 399
  5. Pearl 13x5 Modern Utility Snare, 6ply Maple Shell (New) 329
  6. Tama Metalworks Steel Snare 14x6.5 (New) 289
  7. Yamaha 14x5.5 Stage Custom Birch 249 (New)

First choice would've been a Pork Pie Little Squealer but they're out of stock for the forseeable future ;w;
