-In the image, my **Mapex Black Panther Design Lab Heartbreaker Snare Drum (**8-ply, 8mm mahogany shell with 4-ply, 4mm mahogany reinforcement rings and dual air vents).
I know it’s not the case for everybody, but I’m on the lucky side.
My Ford escape SEL has been a fantastic ride for us with a periodic maintenance oil, change, tires, brakes, etc. it has served on swell. I know I’m not alone with a vehicle like this being a wonderful car, maybe next year time for a new one.

I’ve been experimenting with a violin bow on my cymbals but I think I might need larger one like an upright bass bow size.
Have you tried using a bow on your cymbals? What size has worked best for you?

Regarding your sound exploration, how consistent are you with your setup?
Are you constantly searching for new sounds and changing your setup or simply are very consistent with the basic (shells/positions,etc) and just adding new items to explore?
Personally, I absolutely love exploring the set I have with several different approaches as the music demands. But as a percussionist, my approach can switch completely depending on the music again but also the different sounds a drum set cannot provide.
My students got so excited when we received the ensemble’s new gear at the university.
I loved the wine color but there was no way to shine it anymore and some scratches started to show on the back so, a new finish was due.
