Love that Zuko is in rebels.

Love hearing voices of voice from different shows like hearing almight and others from different meadi in other shows and hearing them makes them feel like there own characters are in that universe too.

Could Maul have beat Obi-Wan in Rebels?

I’ve been thinking about this, we see maul kill 2 inquisitors so clearly he’s still capable, but do you think he could have beat Obi-Wan on Tatooine if he had simply ignored Kenobi switching to Qui-Gon’s form and just tried to fight him as is?

Was rewatching Rebels and noticed this

In s3e11 we see Maul using a Kom`rk class fighter, which is a mandalorial ship, but according to Shadow lord >!all his mandalorian squad and a ship of the same class were destroyed, where did he get a new one if he was picked up by Crimson Dawn!<? Probably just a writing mistake but i`m still curious

Ezra

I just started to watch Rebels again, because its been a few years. And just now I’ve sawn, that Ezra in Ashoka looks like the picture of his father which we saw in episode 9 of season 1.

Rewatched Twin Suns last night

I remember that the first time I watched this episode, I felt it was a lame ending for Maul. However, rewatching it again, plus having seen a lot more material about Maul that led up to this moment made me appreciate it much more. It's a perfect closure for a battle that began that fateful day on Naboo, and ended almost thirty years later on Tatooine. There's no need for a flashy and spectacular duel, just a sure strike to end the pain of someone who knew nothing but hatred his entire life, so it's more an act of mercy than revenge, despite the fact Maul took so much from Obi-Wan.

Anybody else felt the same?

Did anyone else feel like the Thrawn kalikori stuff was a bit gimmicky?

Kind of a rant but it kinda annoys me when people talk like Thrawn is somehow more moral or less of a villain because he respects other cultures and art so much. Now I haven't read the Thrawn novels so I can't talk about anything other than his portrayal in Rebels. While it's true he knows a lot about art and culture it doesn't really change much for me. The kalikori stuff just seems like a gimmick to make him stand out compared to other imperial villains. I know how he uses his knowledge of culture strategically but the whole 'respect' is what feels gimmicky.

I feel like 'respect' isn't the best description for Thrawn. Like he's taken over Ryloth and is killing the people but, he likes their art. I feel like he doesn't truly respect them. Specifically with Hera's kalikori it makes it even worse because he knows how much Twilek's value their kalikori yet he still decides to take it because he thinks it's cool (Like Hera said, she'd rather he destroy it).

I know Thrawn's more fleshed out in the novels but in my opinion in Rebels he's no less evil than Slavin is.

Shadow Lord alters Maul’s characterization, and I have questions about its implications.

Rebels is my favourite depiction of Maul. He’s the slightest bit sympathetic, while still being an absolute monster.

Until now, it was his most sympathetic portrayal.

But Shadow Lord has painted him as someone who is willing to work with Jedi to achieve his goals, and seems to not outright hate them anymore.

He causes Daki’s death, and you could say that he was planning on doing that the other time. But he picks a moment where Devon won’t see him.

This leads me to my main question.

Why does he blind/try to kill Kanan in Twilight of the Apprentice?

It’s honesty a pretty similar situation. He wants to recruit Ezra to the dark side, but Kanan stands in his way. Ahsoka likely would, too. Ezra trusts them both too much, and neither of them would EVER trust Maul.

And Maul is in a position where he could genuinely use their help. He even says as much to them.

“I cannot defeat Vader alone.”

I feel like he should’ve stuck it out and tried to escape with all of them, and maybe trip Kanan on the way out like he did with Daki if he has the opportunity.

But he just jumps him. Even if he expected to kill him in one hit, he still has a battle-ready Ahsoka there, who (if I have my power-scaling right) would absolutely give him a run for his money.

Why would he risk Ahsoka telling Ezra what happened, and losing out on a chance to recruit him?

Before Shadow Lord, this wasn’t as much of an issue. In rebels I could still buy that Maul absolutely despised the Jedi, maybe to the same extent as the Sith.

His line right after blinding him seems to imply as much.

“(I will use the holocron) to exact my revenge on ALL my enemies!”

So in this version I assume that he hated and really wanted to kill any surviving Jedi, nearly as much as he wanted Ezra as his apprentice. Here, he’s still very much a villain.

But in Shadow Lord, he seems to see the Jedi more as just gullible idiots, maybe even deserving of some pity, after they were genocided.

It’s like he sees that they were all victims of Palpatine, just as he was. Which I always thought was a clarity he didn’t reach until his final moments in Obi-Wan’s arms.

“He…will…avenge…US.”

But what do you guys think? What’s the in-world explanation of his actions in Rebels? Is his characterization consistent? And did Shadow Lord go a step too far in making him sympathetic?

Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren are leading a group of Rebel troopers to take over a Imperial Star Destroyer for the Rebellion by eliminating Stromtroopers along the way. (Made by NinjaGhostDragon)

Favorite vehicle and why?

For me personally I like this walker a lot it just has a more sleek unorthodox design which I like and also It’s based off of concept art for the AT-ST which is interesting and although it may have one gun I like to imagine so much power has to be put into it to create a powerful blast, what’s more impressive about is that in the Star Wars Rebels episode The Honorable Ones it was seen capable of fighting in outer space which seems like a huge advantage over the AT-ST.

Rory McCann

I’ve never watched GOT or any of Rory McCann’s work. Will he do Ray Stevenson justice as he takes over as Baylan Skoll?

It was just a vision, but imagine how terrifying this would be to the inquisitors in the moment. Pursuing a couple of surviving Jedi only to find yourself in what looks to be a temple full of 10+ Jedi led by your former leader.

I imagine the reason they fell so far behind the heroes after that is because it'd take them a while to recover from the shock of seeing that.
