Tomorrow you wake up in the Star Wars galaxy. You *can’t* be an established character, but you *can* be friends with 0-3. Everything else about you is yours to choose. Who is your ideal Star Wars self (planet, species, era, community, etc.)?Who are your besties? And what draws you to your character?

Things to consider:

- What era do you hail from? Old republic? Pre, during, or post original trilogy?

- What planet are you from?

- Are you associated in some way with an existing SW crew? Maybe you’re the enemy of the Rebels crew. Or a therapist for the Bad Batch. Or an ally to Luthen’s band of rebels.

- Are you a Jedi? A Sith? A janitor at the Senate building? A secret separatist? A zen monk just meditating all day?

- What species are you? Maybe you’re Grogu’s long-lost cousin. Or the newest Mon Calamari?

- And most importantly, what draws you to the character you’ve created?

I’m excited to see how differently we approach the SW galaxy. Can’t wait to read your replies.

Trying to design my ideal saber, based on my go-to Survivor saber (usually red + yellow blade). Which do you think is the best color combo with the yellow blade?

I fear my go-to looks a little too much like ketchup and mustard. Though I think the red and chromium look the best. I think my second option might be the teal. Then the emerald. I’d love your hot takes though. Penny for your thoughts?

I’m in my 30s and had never watched an anime before…

…so I decided I would watch whatever AI told me was its #1 suggestion for me, based on everything it knew about me. (Gross, I know. Sorry. Forgive me.).

At any rate, Frieren was the #1 recommendation and I watched all 38 episodes in just a few days. It has a very cool premise and I especially liked the 1st class mage exam storyline. The magic system was cool, as well. My favorite characters were probably Heiter and Frieren.

It was very wholesome. Heartbreaking in some ways, but very deep. I appreciated the themes around death and loss, and found it to be very thought-provoking.

I can’t say that it’s turned me onto the genre of anime in a substantial way. It might be a one and done for me, and that’s okay. But I am glad I can now officially say I’ve watched at least one anime, and from what I can tell a very good one at that!

Cheers. :)

[Star Wars] The Sequel Trilogy is better than the Original Trilogy.

Not a shit post. I know my opinion is highly unpopular. But I just rewatched the sequel trilogy back-to-back-to back and it’s not bad at all.

My conclusions:

- The ST is good, on its own. It gives us a big dose of Star Wars. Some great battles. Some great bad guys. And some cool new characters. All with more modern special FX and a story that takes itself seriously.

- The ST is more enjoyable to watch than the OT. The OT doesn’t take itself as seriously, the acting (especially Luke, sorry) is not that great. I have no desire to rewatch them — but I respect that they were the starting point, extremely innovative and groundbreaking at the time they were made, and were extremely impactful to those who grew up watching them. (I did not.)

I respect that the OT is untouchable for some. And that’s all good and well. But I literally cannot understand where the sequel hate comes from.

Yoda was a dick, got everything wrong — and went to live in isolation. All hail Yoda.

Luke makes some mistakes, and goes to live in isolation, just like Yoda — HoW dArE yOu DiSrEsPeCt Luke.

I don’t get it. Star Wars is both the tragedy of the loss of the Jedi order, with many amazing Jedi in their ranks throughout time — and also tons of evidence that a lot of the Jedi order kind of sucks and leads itself to its own demise. They kicked out Ahsoka (and I’ll never forgive them for it), the let themselves get sucked into politics, were totally blindsided by Palpatine, a few Jedis killed a coven on Brendok, Jedi Anakin slaughtered the sand people. And had a secret marriage. Like, I’m team Jedi, but let’s not pretend they were infallible gods. Many great individual Jedis with noble goals, but horrible at the institution level.

I like Rey much more than Luke. And I think an Anakin-focused Star Wars is much more enjoyable than a Luke-focused Star Wars.

Again, I know many of those opinions aren’t gonna go over well. I consider myself a Star Wars fan. I just don’t understand how folks can be so not-critical of the original trilogy and simultaneous sh*t on the sequels, the acolyte, Obi wan-Kenobi, and a bunch of other recent Star Wars projects that are pretty enjoyable and of super high production value.

What is it about the sequels that is rubbing folks the wrong way? I truly don’t get it.

Well…that’s one way to make an exit, I guess. 😅

No need to drag me for how badly I was defending myself in that fight. I already know. Haha. :P

The Empire might have stood a chance against Cal Kestis, if they only had this simple weapon in their arsenal.

😅

I wish I’d taken more photos, but I really enjoy exploring Koboh at night.

Spoilers ahead: If you want to explore Koboh at night, stick around after saving Zee from the Lucrehulk but before heading to the Shattered Moon.
