Reccs for fan who hasn't followed the Stillers for a few years and wants to catch up on the good and bad before the season?

I used to follow the Steelers pretty closely but fell off over the last 5 years due to competing life priorities -- now with Tomlin and a bunch of players gone and esp. with a new QB, I'm looking for recommendations for a great explainer to get caught up. What are our strengths, our weaknesses, players to watch, coaching patterns to expect... Maybe this is a YouTube video, maybe a good fan article? I've got my eyes peeled for Defector's rundown but that's not out yet. 😅 Ideally looking for just a one-and-done to get me dialed in before the season starts. Thanks all!

Forever thankful we didn’t trade for Aiyuk

It would’ve cemented our legacy in stone as the ultimate crashout team. And on top of that, we would’ve signed him to a long term extension. He and Pickens would’ve killed each other over targets and Russell Wilson’s qb play.

So we all know our defense will be different with Tomlin out and Patrick graham in, but how so?

Just looking for everyone’s perspective, I have only seen little on Patrick grahams style and I’m curious!

The Terrible Tele in all of its finished glory 🖤💛🎸

Well, I finished my baby and I love it. Waiting for parts, stickers, the logo was the hardest part. Getting to know this thing inside and out has been a wonderful little project and I had a blast. It sounds incredible and I’ll have to do a little vid of Steelers tribute with it!

Edit: now with sound demo!

Pre-Merger Era Autographs?

I've been collecting Steelers autographs for 10 years. I own over 1200 Steelers autographs from 750 unique Steelers in franchise history. Throughout my collecting I've taken an interest in the pre-merger era of the Steelers. I've been intentional about looking for particular players and

I've found it's very challenging to find some older autographs, especially autographs from the 30s and 40s. The main place I look is eBay, but if it's not there, I probably can't find it.

Are there any knowledgeable collectors or sports historians who know of any collections, websites, hobby locations, etc, where older autographs might be available? Any tips on how to make it so I can get notified when they appear on the market?

Kenneth Gainwell Jersey?

I have a friend that was a huge fan of Kenneth Gainwell and wants his jersey. Is there anywhere I can buy it at this point? The official sites won't let me customize his jersey since he's an active player on another team. Any advice?

Steelers Rookie Drew Allar Embracing Understudy Role Behind Aaron Rodgers. Phenomenal article folks.

Going to post some of the quotes not all of them cause it's a very long article and an excellent read.

"The West Coast offense in general was something I studied a lot in the offseasons at Penn State," Allar told me during a conversation this offseason at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere. "Kind of the newer versions like the [Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean] McVay and [San Francisco 49ers head coach] Mike Shanahan. I was on that trend for the last four years.

"But it’s now kind of a full circle moment for me, going back and seeing how everything really started. Why the drops are a certain way and how they match up with the progressions. And where the concepts originated from. It’s really cool to be a part of that. It’s a lot of information, but it’s starting to slow down for me."

Allar said he’s privileged to share a quarterback room with the future Hall of Famer. "I’m really excited to learn from him," Allar told me. "With him being in Coach McCarthy’s system in Green Bay, it’s beneficial because he knows the system inside and out, even though he hasn’t played in it in five or six years at this point. And just everything he’s going through in his career, playing in tens of thousands of snaps, how much experience and knowledge he has — the nuances of playing the position of quarterback, reading coverages, the defensive tendencies — any little thing I can pick up to help me process faster and be more accurate, I’m all in for it."

"I believe in first impressions," McCarthy said about Allar in Pittsburgh’s post-draft press conference with reporters. I had a chance to not only watch him play but meet him at the combine. … I like everything about him. I think he’s got room for growth. He’s a young man that can throw the ball with the best of them, and that’s a great starting point to have."

For the past year, Allar’s worked with John Beck and 3DQB here in Southern California during the offseason to prepare him for the league. Beck also worked with another former McCarthy quarterback in Dak Prescott. Allar said Beck helped to improve his footwork, getting him in better throwing positions.

"It’s really just taking it a day at a time," Allar told me. "They do a great job of building it out throughout practice with the quarterback in individual drills. They do a great job of emphasizing things throughout each day, just so I can get that foundation, because the footwork is a little different than what I’m used to.

"We were under center a little bit at Penn State, but not in the drop-back game. It was more run game and play-action game. So, just getting cleaner with under-center drops and drop-back footwork. And just really trying to pick up on the nuances of it. Just some different teaching, and it’s really cool to be a part of that. And kind of have another chapter to learn from and grow from. I already feel a lot more comfortable in it, and I know I’ve just got to keep my head down and keep working at it."

I just read about the 1987 Station Wagon incident at Three Rivers Stadium. If you haven't heard, here is that story.

On December 3, 1987, Tony Morelli, a Steelers fan who was frustrated with QB Mark Malone's performance, plowed through the front gates of Three Rivers Stadium with his station wagon, narrowly missing stadium workers. Once inside, he ran over eight 10-gallon vats of nacho cheese sauce, then raced around the stadium's walkways and ramps at speeds of up to 50 mph. Stadium officials later found him on the field kicking field goals without a football.

Morelli underwent a psychiatric examination before being released to police, who charged him with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass. The charges were dropped when he paid $1,345 in restitution, of which $685 went towards the cost of the nacho cheese.
