Day 25 off Suboxone after using SR-17 — struggling with these lingering symptoms!

I’m really hoping to hear from anyone who’s been through something similar because I’m so frustrated and starting to lose hope a little.
Quick background: I was using /“7’s” for about 8 mo (4/25-12/25) and was put on Suboxone to get off of them. I recently used SR-17 to finally get off the Subs. I tapered the SR down and have now been completely off SR for about 5 days and today is day 25 with NO Suboxone.
I REALLY want to stay off Subs, but I’m still having some incredibly uncomfortable symptoms and I’m assuming this is still lingering Sub withdrawal or maybe PAWS, I’m still not clear on how PAWS presents.
The biggest things right now are:
Severe skin sensitivity — probably the weirdest and most uncomfortable symptom. My skin feels raw/extremely sensitive to touch, almost like a bad sunburn without actually being burned.
Extreme fatigue — I can do a couple normal chores and then feel like I desperately need a nap. I’m taking a couple naps some days AND sleeping a lot at night. I can usually push through feeling crappy, but this fatigue is kicking my ass.
Constant adrenaline/drop feeling — the best way I can describe it is that feeling you get standing at the edge of a really high building and looking down, except my body feels like that for HOURS. It’s not necessarily that I’m mentally anxious about something; my body just has that constant adrenaline/falling feeling.
Restless legs were pretty uncomfortable too, although my doctor gave me clonidine and that actually seems to be helping quite a bit.
One other strange thing: the skin sensitivity and adrenaline feeling tend to ramp up in the evening and get worse into the night, then they’re MUCH milder in the morning.
I worked nights when I was taking 7’s and typically took them between roughly 6 PM–4 AM, so I can’t help wondering if my body somehow still associates that time of day with when it was used to getting its fix. I have no idea if there’s actually anything to that, but the timing is remarkably consistent.
For anyone who has come off Suboxone/buprenorphine especially after 7-OH or using SR-17 did you experience anything like this around weeks 3–4? Particularly the raw/sensitive skin, crushing fatigue, or that awful adrenaline/drop sensation?
When did you finally start feeling noticeably better?
And if anything helped you get through this stage — medication, supplements, exercise, sleep, literally ANYTHING — I would love to hear it.
I’m just desperate to feel a little bit normal again and could really use some hope that there’s a light at the end of this. ❤️

Since quitting Suboxone!

I’m back to waking up at 5am getting my mornings started, rather it’s working out or taking my son for a bike ride!

It’s been years since I did stuff like this, it all abruptly stopped after I got on subs.

I just wake up feeling so much better now days and also don’t have to take sleep meds! On my come down off subs I couldn’t sleep for jack so I took plenty otc sleep medicine.

Quitting subs was the best journey of my life so far!

I’m so proud i actually hung in there, i still remember laying in bed feeling too tired to do anything and saying im just gone hold this off skip it, then still not letting myself take extra pieces!

Im literally so happy right now i want to cry, i just cannot believe im off that medicine, it felt impossible to come off one point but thats just your mind tricking you.

I go to the bathroom every morning now a healthy stool and I haven’t been like this in over 3 years, it would always be days apart along with constipation even after taking stool softeners.

No more dosing or worries about forgetting my dose when I leave the house, hopeful no more dentist appointments, I’m actually getting real sleep 😴 sleep cause they say subs stops that the whole time your on, no more cutting up doses or tasting that nasty stuff in my mouth I mean the list goes on for days!

Even all the friends I lost while on subs I got half of them back already which is amazing, I’m opening back up more and my real personality coming back!

I just want to encourage anyone I can so they can feel what I feel right now, the world just feels so much better off subs, I feel mentally balanced again all sorts of stuff!

Tapering Partner

If anyone is looking for a tapering partner for Suboxone, I’d be happy to help. I’m a pharmacist and have personal experience supporting a partner through tapering—from 8 mg film to 0.75 mg over about a year.

I’m looking for someone who’s been on Suboxone 3–5 years and is genuinely ready to get off. No judgment—just consistency, encouragement, and accountability.

Anyone want to be my tapering accountability partner?

I’ve been on Suboxone for eight years now and I’m to the point where I’d like to really get off of it. I am on 12 mg a day and want to start tapering in September. I was curious if anyone else would like to be my tapering partner? I know this journey won’t be easy. I thought there might be somebody in my same situation and we could make sure that we are following a schedule together.

Tapered slowly over about 2-3months from 16mg/day to my last dose was 2mg 3 days ago.

Finally! First time in almost 6 years I’m off subs. I know 2mgs might sound like a lot to some
but the last 2 weeks I would skip doses for 1-2 days just seeing what would happen and nothing. No major irritability, only real physical symptoms I feel is a little cold sometimes (Usually keep
ac at 73, bump it up to 75-77 and i’m good) or just step outside for awhile in this lovely Texas weather 🤣.

Major thing that helped with symptoms for me was a nice warm bath. Just sit and soak-watch something comedic on Yt. I can’t tell yall how many times that itself did the trick- anxiety and the shivers gone.

I have nerve damage in my back so already have a gabapentin subscription- that helps also. I personally didn’t want to resort to using any benzos to help with the withdrawal because I was addicted to those also.
Sorry for rambling I’m just happy.

Hey new here! Needed some feedback on how to move forward.

I’ve been 6 months clean off of H and just recently moved to New York and has been a hassle to get my suboxone but I have it now! Been taking 7oh sporadically to stay right. How much longer should I wait to take my sub it’s been 32 hours, and I feel super uncomfortable.

Help please

Was on suboxone for 3-4 years. I always heard the nightmare stories of getting off. Well I tapered down and have been off for a little over a month. Week 1 and 2 I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I thought I saw the light, got sleep and the restless legs calmed down after week 2.

Now a little over a month out, it feels like I’m dying. I work outside all day and have for years I can barely make it through the day. I got really sick today, my skin is crawling, I can’t get comfortable, I’m exhausted and can’t sleep.

Anyone else experience this? Are second waves of withdrawal normal? I didn’t expect to sleep for six months or so but I did not expect to feel like I’m dying worse than when I initially dropped it.

Is there anything I can do? Or supplements I can take? Taking it easy is not an option I’m the sole provider for a family of three, soon to be four. I just need to make it but today scared me. I overheated despite all the electrolytes and water I consume. My body seems like it is refusing to hold water. I’m back soaking the bed at night and all day just pouring sweat.

Rescue Dosing Anyone know?

Ok hello and hi!! I am really wanting off subs, been taking them 4.5 years. First year I went from 12-4mg, and stayed at 4mg with occasional months at 2mg, then back to 4. When I stopped taking them consistently a month ago, I was taking 4mg. Interestingly , my symptoms are fairly manageable for the most part. Around the between the 8-12 day mark, my symptoms peak, it’s bad…shivers, crawly skin, foggy thinking. I am schooling and working full time, so I can’t really slow down. I take about .25-.5 mg and it takes the edge off. Then the cycle repeats.

Does anyone know if I’m just resetting the clock? Nearly every other medication can be tapered this way with the window between dosing getting longer and symptoms growing milder. I cannot find any info online and just want to be sure I’m not fooling myself and stuck in a cycle of mild crappy, then bad crappy, dose, then back at it all over again.

Thank you for any answers, even if you’re not sure…I just appreciate this thread and anyone willing to chat.

All Tips/Advice Would Be Appreciated

Hi, I’m a 21 year old woman and I started using fentanyl when I was 15. My mother, father, and sister were all using fentanyl at certain points in my life. My family moved from California to Seattle and my addiction spiraled due to personal shit along with the availability of blues and powder up here. Anyways, while I was in treatment at the age of 18 I found out I was pregnant, since then I have stayed sober but have been on suboxone on and off throughout the years since around when I was 16. Now I’m 21 my baby is now an amazing 2 year old boy, I recently went back to school and got my high school diploma, am soon going to college for marine deck technology, and hopefully am going to get a job as a ferry operator in the future. Although I want/need to get off of suboxone for my MCC (merchant mariners credential). I’m not entirely sure if suboxone will be a problem for me in order to get the credential, I think it would be best to just get off of it now. My regular dose was 16 mg (2 strips) and I’ve already got myself down to 8 mg. Basically I’m just looking for advice or any tips please, thank you!
