Ep 246 is lowkey a classic.

The murder mystery episode is never really talked about a lot even though I believe it’s a classic. Tons of laughs. Tons of Ming bashing . Tons of Mike and Ming jokes. No idea what amount of effort it was to write and record something like this but I think they should bring the format back. I loved it. Would love to see a Halloween special done as a murder mystery I think there’s a lot of material for them to do that especially if Git ‘em is the victim.

Sunday Jeff on this week's Reviewing History Podcast

Sunday Jeff is on this week's Reviewing History discussing the film Apollo 13, available on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.

The first 20 minutes or so are all about Jeff's background in aviation. After that, they discuss Apollo 13, what parts are historically accurate, and what's not. It's a fun listen, especially if you're a fan of Sunday.

If you like what you hear, they have nearly 200 episodes available. Most are covering movies based on history, but every four weeks they do a Pick Episode which is more of a hangout where they decide what the next three movies will be. There's also very occasionally a pod where Rupp joins TESD Town resident Chuck Staten to talk about fictional movies, in a show called Popcorn Colonels. They also have a Patreon if you really like what you hear.

Trying to find which episode from TESD has this in it at the start.

it would have been around 2015 i think. the episode had Walt saying "do you hear that? can you hear the roar of the ants? they're calling to me." then had Sunday Jeff coming in saying "tallest dwarf in the circus". its been bugging me for ages and i still cant find the episode.

Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable with messages like this?

I doubt it was their intention but it feels like guilt tripping and maybe even a bit like an ultimatum. My tips are always fair and proportionate to the cost of my meal, I never order from restaurants farther than 5 miles away from my home, and I don’t add any extra delivery instructions or anything that would warrant a tip over 30%. My entire order was only $25. A $20 tip on top of that seems excessive

Can anyone fill me in on the Mike situation?

I stopped listening for about a year and a half and have been dipping back in recently by listening to random episodes. What episode do they talk about the falling out, or whatever happened between them and Mike, or can anyone just tell me? I’m too nosey to wait until I’m all caught up.

Feeling isolated and ostracized as an international TESD fan

Hey fellow Ants,

I’m throwing this out there because I need to vent, and honestly, I’m hoping to find out if anyone else in the global TESD community feels the same way.

I’ve been a massive fan of Tell 'em Steve-Dave! since SModcast. I love the show and the world the guys have built. But lately, I’ve been feeling incredibly isolated and, frankly, ostracized by a massive portion of the American fanbase.

It feels like there is a huge cultural divide. So much of the discourse, the inside jokes, and the general vibe in the wider community can feel aggressively US-centric. When you aren't living in the States, it’s easy to feel left out of the loop. But what hurts more is the pushback or indifference when you try to participate. It feels like if you aren't part of that American core, you're treated like an outsider looking in.

It’s exhausting to want to connect over a show you love, only to feel unseen or dismissed by the loudest segment of the fandom just because of where you live.

Are there any other international Ants out there who feel this way? How do you deal with the US-centric bubble of the fandom?

TL;DR: Love the guys and the show, but feeling incredibly alienated by the American side of the TESD fanbase lately.
