Want to know if this is an original watch or not, It wasn't working when found but once we gave the key, it started working.
After my grandfather no one touched this watch from 2018.
If it's an original, Any idea what kind of Strap will suit with this?
So I had been on the lookout for my first watch and I did a lot of research trying to figure out what would make the best first watch. Pretty quickly, I realized I was really into the diver aesthetic. I felt like a diver watch would be the perfect versatile option since you can wear it almost anywhere and it still looks great. Also, I was completely sold on the rotating bezel on diver watches. There is just something really satisfying about it.
While searching online, I kept seeing the Casio MDV107, or the Casio Duro/Marlin Duro, being recommended as one of the best budget diver watches that punches way above its price range. So naturally I started looking into that. I also checked out the Invicta Pro Diver and eventually came across the Addiesdive AD2513.
My budget was around ₹5000 to ₹6000. The problem was that the original Casio Marlin Duro was not available in India and the MDV107 version was selling for around ₹8000, which was stretching my budget a bit too much. Around the same time, I saw the beautiful blue gradient textured dial on the Addiesdive AD2513 and honestly I was obsessed with it. The dial looked gorgeous and the watch itself was cheaper too, so it felt like the obvious choice.
But right when I was about to buy it, the blue version sold out. So I ended up going for the lava red version instead and honestly... it looks even better. It looks absolutely stunning, gorgeous, and really eye catching in person.
I found it in the local Indian warehouse listing for around ₹6300 and I wanted to use a coupon code to bring the price down. A few days earlier I had made a Reddit post asking if anyone had a coupon code and a really kind Redditor shared one with me. I ended up getting 15% off and bought the watch for around ₹5500.
I placed the order on Sunday and the delivery happened just a couple of days later. The shipping was surprisingly fast and everything arrived perfectly fine. The delivery partner was Delhivery and the whole experience was smooth.
When I unboxed the watch for the first time, I was honestly really excited. My first thought was, wow, this thing is smaller than I expected... but heavy. It felt solid immediately. I had imagined it would be slightly bigger because I am a bigger guy with larger wrists, so I thought a larger watch would suit me better and feel more masculine. But once I wore it, the fit was actually really good.
The watch has a really satisfying heft to it. The engravings are well done, the textured gradient dial looks fantastic, and the lume in the dark actually looks really nice too. Overall, I genuinely feel like this was a solid purchase.
For ₹5500, I honestly do not think there are many better deals out there apart from the Casio MDV107 if it were cheaper in India. So I am really happy with this purchase and genuinely proud of this watch.
I also think Addiesdive is making some really impressive watches for the Indian market. I know they only recently launched in India and are even using a Shopify store, but the value for money is honestly crazy. Yes, they are Chinese made watches, but the quality you get for the price is genuinely impressive.
The only real downside of this exact AD2513 model would probably be the mineral glass instead of sapphire crystal. But at this price point, expecting sapphire would be unrealistic anyway, so I really cannot complain.
Another watch from Addiesdive that I would love to add to my collection someday is the AD2095.
Overall, I would probably rate this watch an 8/10.
What do you guys think? Did I make the right choice for my first watch? And what watch should I get next?
I was thinking about getting the Casio AE1200 next. What do you think?
My wrist size is 7.4 inches but I want to get myself an hmt watch. Which hmt watch will be suitable for my wrist?
One of my very good friends lives in Bangalore for work purposes. He is coming Kolkata so I request him to visit the hmt offline store for me. So, if you guys can suggest a good hmt watch for a bigger hand like me then I'll be thankful.
This is my current watch collection, I will be adding a 25 year old HMT chirag which I got from my grandfather's box and a Time Rene and casio G-Shock g2100 in next 2 months.
Currently I don't have any automatic and I am thinking of adding two good ones in 1-2 years.
Right now I have a Fossil Rhett, DWC Terra, Casio Royale, Timex Analog, Fastrack Analog and Invicta Pro Diver.
Also give suggestions about the next watch I should get?
Baught this slightly used for 4.8k inr Seiko SNKK09K1 if anyone has the same please share your experience.
Hey everyone, I’ve recently hit a major life goal that I’ve been working toward for years, and I wanted to celebrate it in a way that feels meaningful and lasting. Instead of buying one expensive watch, I thought it’d be far more special to build a small 3-watch collection that I can actually wear across different moments of life.
My budget is around ₹50k–60k total maybe a bit more, and I’m completely open to pre-owned watches and any brand. I’d love the collection to feel cohesive overall, but still have each piece bring something different to the table. The only hard rule I’ve set for myself is that I don’t want any single watch to take up more than ~60% of the total budget and NO PRX ( its everyone and their dog has one, its a cool design, I do like intigrated bracelets but I dont want one )
Here’s the rough idea:
• A dressy automatic or manual-wind piece with a simple complication — maybe a day/date, big date, moonphase, or open-heart.
• A solid GADA automatic with sapphire and at least 100m WR. Titanium would be amazing if possible. Divers, GMTs, or chronographs are all on the table.
• A fun/casual watch — preferably a solar quartz or digital that adds some personality and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Right now I’m leaning toward a couple of routes:
Which one to choose?
And how to get maximum discount ?
