2027 Corolla (Sedan) announced, including a 60th Anniversary Edition

2027 Corolla Sedan announced, essentially another carry over model from the current generation. Changes include Inked replacing Midnight Black Metallic. There is also a new limited edition, 60th Anniversary Edition model. The 60th includes special badging, the Hybrid powertrain, distinct wheels (appears to be the SE/XSE wheels of the 2020-2022 Corolla), and red seats.

Another noise ID request please

2019 Corolla LE 70k miles, just bought yesterday. Test drive was great. Drove home no issues. A couple hours later drove from parking garage to store and heard this grinding noise at low speeds. No noise this morning when brought to dealer (of course). Any ideas please?

Title: Is $2,250 reasonable for replacing struts + $700 for sway bar links on a Toyota Corolla 2019 ?

I took my Toyota Corolla 2019 in for service and also asked the service consultant to evaluate the vehicle because I’m considering its appraisal/trade-in value. They recommended replacing the struts because they said they are leaking, and also recommended replacing the sway bar links.

The estimate is:

  • Struts: $2,250
  • Sway bar links: $700
  • Total: about $2,950

They provided these pictures showing the struts.

For those of you who are mechanics or have experience with Toyota suspension work:

  1. Is $2,250 realistic for replacing struts on a Corolla, or does that seem unusually high?
  2. Is $700 for sway bar links reasonable?
  3. Based on the pictures, do the struts actually look like they need immediate replacement?
  4. Would you recommend getting a second opinion from an independent mechanic?
  5. If money is tight and I don’t have $3,000 to spend right now, what would you prioritize and what could safely wait?

I’m mainly trying to avoid unnecessary work, but I also don’t want to ignore something that could be a safety issue.

Thanks in advance!

Just bought a 2008 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 VL Automatic — what should I know as a new owner?

I finally bought a 2008 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 VL Petrol Automatic. It's the older 4-speed automatic model.

Now that I've actually bought it, I'd love to learn as much as possible from people who have owned this generation of Corolla/Altis.

I'm looking for long-term ownership and maintenance advice, especially things that aren't obvious to a first-time owner.

I'd love advice on:

- How should I properly drive and treat the 4-speed automatic gearbox?

- How often should I change the ATF, and what should I use?

- What engine oil do you recommend?

- What regular maintenance should I do because the car is now almost 18 years old?

- What are the common problems I should proactively check?

- Which parts are difficult or expensive to source?

- What should I keep an eye on regarding the suspension, steering and brakes?

- Any specific advice for the 1.8 petrol engine?

- How can I keep the engine and gearbox healthy for another 5–10 years?

- What mileage should I realistically expect in city and highway driving?

- Are there any features on the VL that I should know how to use properly?

- Any tips for maintaining the HID headlights, power seat, AC, electrical systems, etc.?

- What should I do if the car sits unused for several days/weeks?

- Are there any mistakes new owners commonly make with this car?

I'd also appreciate advice on what fluids, filters, belts, hoses, rubber parts and other age-related components I should replace/check preventively.

I'm not looking to modify the car. My goal is to keep it as original as possible and maintain it properly.

If you've owned one of these for years, please share your experience — even small tips are welcome.

Basically, if you could go back to the day you bought your Altis, what would you tell yourself?

What services are actually needed here?

2019 Toyota Corolla SE. Has 86,000 miles. Going to learn to do most of these myself but which ones NEED done asap. Not too keen on paying 1400 for brake pads when I can most likely do them myself.

Shop recommending transmission service at 70k miles

2021 Corolla. I went in for an oil change at 70k and they told me toyota recommends "transmission service" at 70k miles.

I declined it for now, but I also don't really know what that entails, so I was hoping to get someones thoughts on here. It would be about $325

My family love our 2026 Toyota Corolla SE Hybrid AWD. Thanks Koons Toyota Tyson’s especially our dude who took care of us Mr. Muhammad Ali.

A calculated investment as we understand more that the parking spaces and maneuvering around the DMV/NOVA/NCR are a bit challenging with a bigger vehicle. This SE is cool and I’ll give a deep review of what I think at the end of the month.

2024 Toyota Corolla Dashboard Removal

Hello!

I have a 2024 toyota corlla that IU am trying to suede wrap. I have found many videos decribing the removal of the lower dashboard and the head unit but no videos that go on to explaint he removal of the panels closest to the windshield. All I really need to know is if I get as far the head unit, and lower dash, where are all the clips and the fasteners that hodl the upper dash panel together.

I would love some advice on this as I have been searching the youtubes for nearly two weeks and can not find anything for this issue.

1 - Remove the side panels

2 - Remove the head unit panels

3 - Remove the lower dash panels

4 - This is where I am stuck, where are the clips? Is there anything else that needs to remopval before this point??

HELP!!

Check Engine light still on after going to mechanic

I drive Toyota Corolla 2015, mileage around 200400, had constantly been getting check engine light with codes P0441 and P2420. I changed the purge valve myself and it didn't work. Then I went to mechanic and explained it and also said I already changed the purge valve and it didn't work, he said they will replace it with OEM part (I bought Dorman part). They put the new part and after driving for whole the check engine light is back on. Now how to approach this situation? I don't have lots of money to pay. Now if I go there and he comes up with new issue, how do I approach that? If the purge valve I bought was working fine then he wasted my $250 replacing it for nothing

Toyota Corolla Servicing

My Toyota dealer quoted a full service for £465 which is from an authorised dealer. Is it really worth getting serviced there? 72 reg with 23,000 miles on it. Or is it okay to get it serviced with a trusted Toyota independent garages?

Should I get extended warranty for my 26 CCH XSE?

Hi, I have deposit on a corolla cross hybrid xse 2026 that will be coming in next few weeks. We did a purchase agreement for the selling price and trade in offer. Im sure once we finalize, they'll try to sell me on extended warranties. Are any of them worth it? And what would a good deal look like? Just want to know what to look for and what to consider. Thanks!

I recently was gifted a 2024 Carolla S. Is it just me or does it have terrible blindspots on both sides?

Out with the old, in with the new!

Had to junk my well loved 1994 Toyota Corolla after constant breakdowns. I couldn't keep up the repairs and taking the bus for 2 weeks. I got myself a 2026 Toyota Corolla SE and I'm absolutely in love with it!!
