I’m trying to build a triple monitor sim racing / gaming setup and I’m stuck between going with curved or flat screens.

The two monitors I’m considering are:
Samsung 32” Odyssey G5 G50F (QHD, 180Hz, Fast IPS, flat)
Samsung 32” Odyssey G55C (QHD, 165Hz, VA panel, 1000R curved)

I keep seeing people say curved monitors are better for immersion, especially for sim racing, but others say flat is better because “curved causes image distortion.” I’m honestly confused because I don’t really understand what that means or if it’s even true in real use.

For context:
I’m running a Podium 1 / ASR 1 freestanding triple monitor mount

Space and budget aren’t really an issue

I just want to know what’s actually better for a triple monitor setup: flat or curved? And if curved really causes any real image distortion or if that’s just something people say online.

Any real experience or advice would help a lot.

What is actually better for a triple monitor sim racing setup flat screens or curved monitors and how do they compare in terms of immersion, image accuracy, and ease of setup? Also, is 32 inches really the ideal or “perfect” size for a triple monitor racing rig, or are there better sizes depending on how far you sit from the screens, and also what’s better integrated mount or free standing

I am in the process of opening a commercial VR sim racing experience center here in Europe. To figure out our cockpit ecosystem, I wanted to test the waters first before committing to a massive bulk order, so I placed two trial orders to see which frame is best:

To test the waters and evaluate the logistics of both brands in Europe, I placed two simultaneous trial orders for cockpits:

The Fanatec ClubSport Cockpit (in stock)

The Trak Racer TR8 Pro (in stock)

Fanatec: The experience was incredibly smooth. I received fast tracking details almost immediately, and their customer support team was quick to respond to my logistics inquiries. Their European supply chain seems really dialed in right now. I’ve ordered from them before with no major issues.

Trak Racer: Complete radio silence. It has been 14 days total since payment, and I have absolutely zero shipping updates, no tracking information, and zero communication outside of the automated invoice.

When you are projecting concrete opening dates for a brick-and-mortar business, a 2-week logistical blackout on a single test frame is a massive red flag. If they struggle to ship or communicate regarding one rig, I can't imagine trying to coordinate a freight shipment of 20 -25 setups with them, plus seats. Which is weird because they have warehouse in Europe (Netherlands and Spain)

Is this total lack of shipping updates and tracking standard behavior for Trak Racer EU right now, or did I just hit a bad warehouse bottleneck?

Ps. I’ve only gotten confirmation of the trak racer order, nothing else.

​Keeping this short and sweet: Trak Racer is an absolute nightmare to deal with. They will happily take your money, place you on backorder, and string you along with fake timelines (e.g., "You're 7th in line, stock arrives in 4 days"). Weeks go by, and nothing changes.

​After months of waiting for my TRX-160, they offered to ship me a TRX-120 right away. When I checked their site, the 120 was also listed as backordered. It felt like they were just trying to give me someone else's delayed order to quiet me down. (To the guy/gal getting your 120 enjoy it!)

​I finally canceled my 160 order. Don't let the fancy website fool you—their customer service and inventory management are awful. Save yourself the headache.

Monday I ordered a GT Omega PRIME 160 I put it in the cart, paid and the following morning it was shipped...no bullshit,no excuses just tracking number and a simple "enjoy it"

After seeing all the negative reviews about Trak Racer, I really want to cancel my preorder for a Large Freestanding Triple Monitor Mount, but here’s the catch…

I’ve been waiting for a response from "customer service" on my ticket for 4 business days now. Not a single reply whatsoever.

What should I do ? Dispute it through paypal ? What are my odds of winning a dispute for a non-shipped order ?

Hi I'm very new to sim racing and am looking to order my first cockpit and liked the look of Trak Racers products but then came here and saw a lot of rough experiences. Am I botched if I buy or do they still provide a quality product?

Hi everyone,

I’m honestly at a loss and wanted to ask if anyone here had a similar experience with Trak Racer or has any advice.

I ordered a TR120S V2 rig almost 2 months ago (april 9th), with products advertised as “ready to ship”.

After several weeks, I received only part of the order. The main hardware box arrived, but:

• 2 packages containing the longer aluminium profiles and pedal support never arrived and are stuck on "label created"
• some connector plates were missing from the hardware box (these were eventually shipped separately from China and have now arrived)

The problem is that after all this time, I still cannot assemble or use the simulator.

I’ve sent multiple follow-ups, opened tickets, contacted them on Instagram, and even requested return instructions, but communication has become very limited and recent messages have gone unanswered.

At this point, I’ve also opened a chargeback with my bank because I genuinely did not know what else to do.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the products still appear to be in stock / ready to ship, so I struggle to understand why the missing packages have not simply been resent.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Trak Racer? Did it eventually get resolved? Any advice would be really appreciated because this situation feels surreal at this point.

During these last few days, Trak Racer shared with us a full explanation on what happened with the subreddit and how it fell into being abandoned. They were actively trying to recover it when it got posted on r/RedditRequest

They also shared a few of the things they're actively trying to improve. And while, they still aren't perfect, they are working on it. u/TrakRacer-Thomas is leading the socials and he's doing an awesome job. Him and the founder, Matt have been our main point of contact. No corporate email chains, no support tickets, their direct emails.

We all came to a mutual agreement that I believe is for the betterment of the entire community. I'm glad we can finally put all this behind us, and like Matt said in one of his emails to me, we can all move on to what we love doing, sim racing. 

So I acquired this subreddit recently via Reddit request. Trak Racer claims they've been trying to get if back for 16 months, because apparently only 1 employee had the login information.

Trak Racer messages me trying to get it back, and even threatens legal action if I don't cooperate. So I remove all trak racer logos in attempt to null any copyright infringement claims.

I continue to try and run the reddit page as I have been a fan for a while. Even bought the f1 movie limited edition trx. I got 11/100.

Not long after, one of you psychopaths finds my personal Snapchat, sends me death threats, then my home address.

Due to that, I pass the subreddit onto someone else who wants to help get it back to trak racer.

As I'm talking to the guy I gave it to, even after all that trouble, trak racer basically tells the guy they aren't interested, that they shouldve never lost it in the first place.

It's a been a little over a week now since the Sim Racing Expo in Charlotte!
