Finally built my new sim rig after moving out
After a year of debate and not knowing if it was even possible to fit a rig with my small space I finally pulled the trigger and built my new rig.
Im still cable managing I just got excited and wanted to share.
The only 2 things that are missing for me is a Pimax Dream Air and the Moza motion set up. At least thats what my goal is but might not be for a while. I’ve been having the gear for a long time but had to take down my old rig since I moved out of my moms house and didnt know if it would be a smart move to fit a rig in my small space. Now I know anything is possible if you put your head into it.
My only regret is the seat in the picture I got from the junkyard, while its really nice its a bit too tall and I already went and bought a replacement just waiting for it to dry from the wash which is also from the junkyard.
As far as the frame itself goes TrakRacer T160s v5, its solid but definitely not necessary I just know I will use motion in the future so wanted to future prep for anything.
My PC is actually on the other side of this room (my bedroom) into my little living room, I drilled a hole and passed cables through it. This layout decision alone made the remodel project last me 3 days. Had to move a lot of stuff that was heavy/electrical/sensitive. Im still adjusting some stuff to make it feel nicer to live in but overall im happy. But the reason I even did this is because I did not want my computer to overheat my bedroom since I had that issue last year at my moms house and that made me use an external AC just to combat that and the bill came out way higher than usual.
I only really use VR but I did install the single monitor for desktop use and easier settings tinkering, yes I just used a desk clamp arm which I dont understand why WAYYY more people dont do that instead of buying a super expensive sim racing monitor stand when you will only use a single screen anyways. Save some bucks people.
And yes your eyes are not lying those are dispensable bowls underneath the feet of the rig, its on carpet so it makes it easy to move if needed but it wont budge when in use.
But to answer the dying question, did this make me a better driver?
Nah I still lose to people using a logitech G29 and go straight to American Truck Sim to calm my nerves.
If there is any questions please feel free to ask.
