Can You Keep Reusing MCT Oil for Multiple Flower Infusions?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping some of you lovely people can help me. I’m trying to make a very concentrated MCT oil using only flower.

I have 41g of decarbed flower in total.

My idea is, for example - to infuse 5g into 100ml of MCT oil, strain it, then reuse that same oil with another fresh 5g batch, repeating the process until the full 41g has been infused into the same 100ml of oil over multiple cycles.

In theory this seems like it should steadily increase the concentration each time, but I’m wondering if there’s a practical limit where repeated infusions stop being effective, or if the repeated heating/processing starts degrading cannabinoids or causing other issues.

Would this method work well, or is there a better approach for achieving a very high potency oil from flower alone?

Ideas for edible

Okay, so I do make edibles sometimes, but they usually have a bitter, herbal taste from the oil, and the cocoa always masks it. That’s why I mostly opt for foods like chocolate cake or chocolate crepes, but what else can I use to mask that bitter taste? Any ideas? Cause I literally hate the bitter taste of it but also love cooking edibles

Medical Grade Tincture

Friend of mine gave me the last little bit of his prescription THC tincture. The label says 10 mg per milliliter. According to my mental math, this is only 1% THC which sounds pretty weak compared to flower and hash. Should I even bother trying to make edibles with this?

Melting gummy bears

  • ~4.9 lb Haribo Bears
  • ~1 fluid ounce Delta 9 distillate
  • ~1/2 cup Coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons Liquid lecithin
  • ~1 1/8 cup Water

I heat up the gummy bears, and heat up the d9. Mix it together. Put the coconut oil, lecithin and water in afterwards. Mix it together for 5-10 mins.

Put it in molds. Wait til dry, and coat them in fine sugar.

Works really good, and people like them too.

You experts have any tips for the recipe, or the procedure to make them better?

Thanks 🫡🇩🇰

Homemade tincture for the summer

Second time making some Green Dragon tincture.

This time I made a bigger batch to refill my dropper bottle and decided to store it in an old small bottle of whiskey.

20g of shake decarbed and in the freezer for 24hrs, then mixed with 250mL for about 3 full days

Strained it twice with coffee filters and a cheese cloth.

Need THC butter recipe for baking

I have around an ounce of flower dust and was thinking of making it into, hopefully a very potent, Canabutter I could chuck into a brownie or cake.

I’ve been doing some research but all I’m getting is very mixed things on the process, temperatures during decarb. Etc.

Does anyone have a good Cana butter recipe that maxes on strength for the amount of flower.

Any tips and things to watch out for also be appreciated

Weed tincture ideas

I made some amazing Green Dragon 151 rum many years ago that got anyone blasted after a few shots or in a cocktail with a coke despite being made out of terrible Caribbean weed. An acquired taste for sure, but that cocktail really grew on me despite not everyone agreeing.

After realizing tinctures = bitters with the help of some condescending redditors at a culinary subreddit, I decided next time I made some I was gonna try to elevate the experience for anyone else who tried it.

That said, has anyone tried this endeavor before? I’ll experiment from scratch if I have to (compiled ingredients to consider so far included in the image), but It’d be awesome if I can stand om the shoulders of any giants on here.

Thoughts, anyone? Thanks in advance

Just made my first batch of cannasugar!

It was actually a lot easier than I expected!

I made my tincture from 14g of flower at 26% THC with 2 cups of everclear. That took about 4 hours. I then combined it with 4 cups of sugar and threw it in the VENTED oven. Don't want to blow up lol

Checked and stirred every 10 mins for about 50-60 mins. In total it should be about 3600mg.

I'm so excited thinking of recipes i can use it with ☺️

Need some help from some fellow nerds

I've been looking at the bioavailability of sublingual tinctures and how they compare to inhalation in order to take a cautious dose because every time I've made edibles before they've been:

A- orally ingested, meaning that I experienced a high from 10 hydroxy instead of delta 9

B- decarboxylated and infused with suboptimal equipment (shitty oven, infusing with heat instead of without), compared to the proper decarboxylator I have now and the cold extraction that occurs with green dragon/gold dragon tinctures.

I looked around for a bit, and I found one pubmed article but it seems to just mention the bioavailability of inhalation vs oral (no % for sublingual) offhandedly in the abstract without citing a source. If anyone could offer some solid evidence that'd be greatly appreciated because I don't wanna see demons as a nice treat after 7 days of cold sweats and insomnia.

Thanks!

RSO Kool-Aid

Made these for a camping trip. I have stopped smoking bud by about 90% these days due to asthma. Edibles are the way.

Decarb in oven bag question

Hi all, first time edible maker as of today... I've just decarbed in an oven bag for 40 mins at 230°F/110°C (accurate temp, used thermometer).. I was expecting the weed to go much more golden/yellow colour, but it came back out almost the same colour as it went in (as far as I can tell). Maybe a fraction more yellow, but very little (pic is after decarb). Do we think this will still be fully decarbed, even though little/no colour change? TIA!

Urgent. First timer

Me and my friends have decided to try weed for the first time. Half of my friends don't smoke but they're willing to try it in brownies or cookies. The other half is in for smoking but I'll still try to keep it ingestion friendly

How should I go about it?

What should I use?

Edible tolerance estimation

A few days ago I took around 30mg, then redosed ~45mg about 3 hours later (total ~75mg) and I got absolutely blasted.

Since then I’ve been using daily for a few days.

Today over around 4 hours I took something like:
40mg + 30mg + 40mg + 30mg
(total around 140mg)

And honestly I barely feel much. The effects I felt is significantly much less than the first day.

It’s a high potency THC extract/oil (supposedly around 95% THC) and I take it sublingually.

So I’m wondering:

  • Can edible tolerance really build THIS fast?
  • Is there a way to know how much tolerance builds up so I can redose correctly?
  • Is this a standard effect of THC edibles?

Would appreciate hearing from people with experience.

Does infusion time matter less when you don't strain the flower out of the oil at the end?

I'm very new to this, and am using high CBD Type 3 hemp and coconut oil. I've made rice krispie treats twice thus far and they're effective for me and my low tolerance!

But I haven't performed very long infusions: my first batch I infused for just 30 mins because I was short on time, but I was still very pleased with my results. This second go round I infused for 1 hour, and can't speak on the final product yet. In neither case did I strain the flower out of the coconut oil before mixing into the rice krispies.

My question is whether the fact that I'm consuming the flower material could be offsetting the low infusion time, at least partly? Thanks!

Questions about cannasugar

I'll be making cannasugar for the first time today with a tincture i made last night but i have some questions

I used 2 cups of everclear for the tincture but now its like 1.75 cups, did some of it evaporate?

Is it better to start out with 2 or 4 cups of sugar to infuse? I have a slightly high tolerance so I'd be fine with 2 cups but i also want to stretch it out.

Lastly, how would I calculate the potency of the sugar? I know there are potency calculators but if i wanted to use 1.5 cup of cannasugar in 2 qts of koolaid/lemonade how can i dose it?

Thanks for any help!!

EDIT i probably should have included how many mg it should be huh

I used 14g flower, 26% thc, and 2 cups of everclear so it should be around 3600mg
