Anyone who worked 7 days a week to pay their debts?

May malaki akong utang and I wanna pay it off as soon as I can.. Right now I juggle between 2 jobs. 1 full time and the other is casual. If I keep going at this phase I'll pay my debt in 2 years time.

Any advice?

I need your input May utang sakin ang friend ko ang hirap siya magbayad. Ano dapat kong gawin? Can anyone give me their take on this?

I have a friend and dating kawork. Last February 2025, she asked if she could use my credit card to buy an iphone 14, 6 mos installment. And since close kami I let her. She promised to pay every month. Amounting to almost 50K, 7K a month.

First month: Nabayad, may delay

2nd month, 5K out of 7K and ibinayad.

3rd month: Nawalan ng work, nakiusap so walang bayad ulit, ako nag shoulder

4th month: Nagkawork, wala pang sweldo, walang bayad ulit

5th month, 6th month until natapos ang taon, ako nagbayad.

Come 2026, naningil ako, and I'm not exaggerating, everytime na naniningil ako may medical emergency siya, and yes totoo kasi nakita ko yung proof na nasa hospital siya.

Last June nagbigay ako ng ultimatum, sabi niya July. Come July, guess what?

Now I wonder what to do? Iniisip ko kaya nagkakanda ganun buhay niya because may utang siyang hindi niya binabayaran.

Almost 1 Year Since My OLA Default and I’m Still Here 😅

Hi, 26F and as the title suggest almost one year na since I officially became an “OD girly” sa mga OLAs. At one point, I had around 10 unpaid OLAs. Most of them were sketchy, some may be registered, but apparently walang proper secondary license/authority to lend. And regardless kung registered sila or hindi, one thing was common “HARASSMENT”. Calls, messages, threats, intimidating emails, and those copy paste templates na parang ginawa ng iisang taong galit sa buong mundo. Thankfully, I never experienced a home visit or an actual physical demand letter. Mostly, I just received the usual template emails na ang laman ay pananakot, pressure, and “pay now or else” energy. But honestly, behind the jokes, this whole experience messed me up mentally. Just like many people who got trapped in predatory lending apps, I fell into depression. I was constantly anxious. Every notification felt like bad news. Every unknown number looked like another collector. I reached a point where I felt ashamed of myself and thought I had ruined my life financially.
But here’s the part I want to share “I survived it”. I was able to pay my debts with banks both traditional and digital. I paid what I genuinely owed to people. I settled the debts that I could reasonably settle.
And for the OLAs? I eventually made a decision. I decided that I was not going to pay unreasonable, high interest amounts that came with harassment, intimidation, and questionable lending practices. Not because I don't believe in paying debts.
I do. But I also learned that being in debt doesn't mean you have to surrender your peace, dignity, and mental health to people who use fear as a collection strategy. I learned the hard way that borrowing money when you're desperate can put you in a much deeper hole. And sometimes, the best financial lesson comes with the most expensive tuition fee. If you're currently in the same situation, please remember this “Your debt is a problem. It is NOT your identity” .
-You are not a bad person because you made a bad financial decision.
-You are not a failure because you got trapped.
-And you are definitely not the amount written on an OLA's screen.
One year ago, I was scared of every notification. Today, I can look back and say:
“Grabe, na survived ko yun?.”
And honestly? That's something worth celebrating. To everyone currently trying to get out of the OLA cycle ang masasabi ko lang ay “one step at a time.” Stop borrowing from one app to pay another if you can. Prioritize legitimate debts and essential expenses. Learn your rights. Document harassment. Ask for help when you need it.
And most importantly, don't let shame isolate you. Money problems can be fixed. Slowly, painfully, sometimes embarrassingly but they can be fixed. Your life is bigger than your balance due. Almost one year OD, but still alive, still rebuilding, and definitely wiser. Cheers to financial peace, better decisions, and never downloading an OLA out of desperation ever again.

kaya kami, natakot talaga.

ang naiisip naming solution ngayon is bukas, kapag nakipagkita kami sa collector, maghahanda kami ng written letter/acknowledgment of payment na parang formal proof na natanggap nila yung ₱15k and that the debt has been fully paid/settled. gusto sana namin papirmahan sa collector para may katunayan na nakapagbayad na si papa and wala nang remaining balance.

kung ayaw nilang pumirma sa sarili naming letter, ang naiisip namin is at least ipa-document yung payment and humingi ng written receipt or any proof na natanggap nila yung pera.

is this the best and right thing to do? or may iba pa ba kaming dapat gawin before namin ibigay yung pera?

please don't judge us po. honestly, natatakot lang talaga kami and hindi namin alam kung ano ang tamang approach. any advice, especially from someone who actually knows the law, would really help us. thank you po.

30F, around ₱500k in debt. Ilang days pa lang akong overdue sa OLAs and they’re already posting me publicly and threatening to contact our barangay

30F here. I work remotely, I have multiple clients, and breadwinner din ako sa bahay. Ako mostly ang nagbabayad ng groceries, electricity, internet, insurance, and other household expenses.

On paper, okay naman talaga income ko.

So if you're wondering paano ako umabot sa around ₱500k worth of debt, trust me, ako rin.

Hindi siya nagsimula because I was living some extravagant lifestyle.

Earlier this year, may project kami sa rental property namin na akala ko around ₱50k lang ang magagastos. Eventually, umabot siya ng almost ₱200k. May ibang expenses pa on top of that, and somewhere along the way, I started using online lending apps para punan yung shortfalls.

At first, manageable pa.

Then eventually:

May due today → borrow para mabayaran.

Pay one OLA → reloan immediately.

Use the reloan → pambayad sa next OLA.

Then another.

Then another.

Tapal system.

Hanggang sa halos dumadaan na lang yung sweldo ko sa account ko before going straight back to lenders.

One day, nilista ko lahat.

Doon ko narealize how bad it had become.

Around ₱500k all in all.

And ang frustrating part is hindi naman ako nakabili ng ₱500k worth of things.

A huge portion of that money basically just circulated between lenders—plus interest, fees, and repeated borrowing—while I desperately tried to keep every account from becoming overdue.

Eventually, narealize ko:

If I keep doing this just because takot akong ma-overdue, hindi talaga ako makakaahon.

So I stopped the tapal system.

And yes, because I can no longer magically keep everything current at the same time, may mga accounts na ngayon na overdue.

But here's what I really want to emphasize:

Ilang DAYS pa lang akong overdue.

Not months.

Hindi pa nga weeks yung iba.

And I am NOT ignoring the lenders.

I've already communicated with them.

I've reached out regarding repayment options, restructuring, and possible payment arrangements because I want to find something sustainable that I can actually follow.

I'm working.

I have income.

I'm not saying I won't pay.

I'm not disappearing.

I'm literally trying to negotiate a way to pay them without going back into the same tapal system that created this mess.

Pero despite that, grabe yung escalation ng harassment.

First, they started commenting on my friends' Facebook posts.

May nagla-like ng posts.

May nagme-message sa ibang people connected to me.

Then today, may Facebook page where I had previously been invited as a guest.

They were having a CURRENT livestream today.

I wasn't part of the livestream.

Wala ako doon.

Wala akong connection sa topic nila.

And yet somehow, may collector na nakahanap ng page and started spamming their current live comments about me.

At first natawa pa ako.

Like…

How did you even end up THERE?

😭

But now it escalated again.

I received an email containing a photo showing that I had already been posted in a Facebook group.

And in the same situation, they're now saying they'll contact our barangay captain.

And honestly?

Doon medyo napagod na talaga ako.

Because again:

I have already communicated with them about repayment and restructuring.

I'm not refusing to pay.

I'm not telling them, “Wala akong pakialam, bahala kayo.”

I'm actively trying to resolve my debts.

So I don't understand why involving my friends, unrelated Facebook pages, public groups, and potentially our barangay is somehow necessary to discuss a private financial obligation.

I know I owe money.

I acknowledge that.

I made bad financial decisions.

I got trapped in the tapal system and let things snowball way beyond what I could sustainably handle.

That's on me.

But I genuinely don't think acknowledging my mistakes means I also have to accept being publicly humiliated.

And if I'm being completely honest, this whole thing is really starting to affect me.

Most of the time I joke about it.

“Hahahaha grabe sila.”

“Hahahaha pati diyan?”

“Hahahaha ngayon barangay naman?”

That's how I cope.

Pero I'd be lying if I said okay lang talaga ako.

Every time may bagong notification or email, there's that split second na naiisip ko:

“Saan na naman nila ako pinost?”

“Sino na naman kinontact nila?”

“Sino na naman nakakita?”

People keep telling me to screenshot everything and document everything.

And I understand why.

Pero minsan ayoko na ngang makita.

Sometimes taking screenshots makes it feel even more real.

Yung email ngayon, sila na mismo nag-send sakin ng picture showing that I was posted somewhere.

Part of me just wants to stop looking altogether.

And probably the hardest part?

Most people in my real life don't know the full extent of what I'm going through.

My mom knows about the financial situation.

But there are still people very close to me who don't know.

So I still go to work.

I talk normally.

I joke around.

I play games.

I laugh.

I say I'm okay.

And somewhere in between all of that, I'm trying to figure out how to clean up almost half a million pesos worth of financial mistakes while collectors are showing up in random corners of my online life.

I think that's really why I'm posting here.

I just need somebody else to know.

And I really want to hear from people who have actually gone through something similar—especially those who reached ₱400k, ₱500k, ₱600k+ because of OLAs and the tapal system.

Ganito rin ba kalala during your first few days/weeks overdue?

Did they contact your friends?

Did they comment on other people's posts?

Did they post you in Facebook groups?

Did they threaten to contact your barangay?

Did anyone actually contact your barangay, and what happened?

How long did the worst harassment last?

Humupa rin ba eventually?

And pinakaimportante:

Nakalabas ba kayo?

I don't need anyone to tell me:

“Eh bakit ka kasi umutang?”

“Kasalanan mo yan.”

“Bayaran mo kasi.”

I know I need to pay.

I already know I messed up.

And believe me, I've already been much harsher on myself than any random Reddit comment could ever be.

What I'm trying to do now is different.

No more tapal.

Keep working.

Protect my source of income and basic necessities.

Communicate with lenders about restructuring/payment arrangements.

Pay accounts down strategically.

Close them one by one.

Once closed, never reloan.

And somehow continue living my life while I slowly fix this.

Maybe I just need to hear from somebody who's already been on the other side and can tell me:

“Oo. Naranasan ko rin yan. Kinontact din nila ibang tao. Pinost din ako. Natakot din ako. Pero humupa rin. Nakabayad din ako. Nakaahon din ako.”

Because right now, ilang araw pa lang akong overdue and I already feel exhausted.

I'm trying really hard to be strong.

But I'd be lying if I said this isn't bothering me.

DELETE ATOME

Yes, you read that right. Delete Atome, Sirain nyo na yung physical credit card nyo, and settle your dues immediately if kaya and delete your account, sabay uninstall the app.

If you wanna do credit and loan cash, best advice—never do it with Atome. Kakapal ng mukha ng mga collectors Nila.

One day before the due, incessant calls na, to the point of harassment na—umaga Hanggang gabi.

On the day of the due, haharassin ka ng mga calls and text—na para bang 1 week ka nang overdue.

Missed 1 day?

I am a good payer, I pay even weeks/days before the due date, and even settle the dues once makuha ko na sweldo ko every 15th.

Wala masyado ako paghihinayang sa credit kasi I find the interest and fees reasonable naman compared to other OLAs I tried before na Kupal at ungas talaga.

Here’s the thing, once I got the access na pwede nako mang Hiram ng ₱20k, I used it agad to basically consolidate and pseudo-restructure ko yung credit dues ko.

At that time, may work pa ako noon, but I find it hard to pay 6k for two months straight, then 4k for another two months. So I took out ₱20k and what I liked during that time is walang bawas due to fees and ₱3.5k+ per month for 6 months was something doable for me.

I was able to pay ₱3.5k+ for 2 months. But I got laid off. All I have is my part time job as a VA, and 3.5k was completely out of my range and unreasonable for me cuz of utilities and other expenses. All I can pay is ₱2.5k maximum.

So I contacted them thru the app, asking for a restructure with proper documents supporting na I was laid off work. I even gave them a promissory note, and a formal request for a restructuring, accompanied with a suggestion na I’ll pay ₱2.5k per month for 7 months na, kahit dapat 6 months lang to pay off the rest of my balance (principal and original interest) + late fees na rin for “good will” sana.

Pero Kupal talaga ng support, sabi 2\~3 days mag rereply daw sa email ko I had more than a week to wait for a proper response. Nung the day of the due date pa sila nag reply, king Ina talaga, tas sabi lang:

> We understand that this may be a difficult time, and we wish to support you as best we can. In order for us to better understand your circumstances and explore suitable options, we kindly ask that you provide relevant and official supporting documents.

> Once we receive the complete documents, we will share your request with the relevant team. They will review your case and reach out to you to discuss your payment options.

Oh diba? Nanghihingi ng supporting documents kahit may nabigay nako, and even if may need pa na documents, ba’t walang sinabi kung anong kailangan na documents? At Bakit Ang tagal ng reply?

So alam nyo anong ginawa ko? The more time they spent calling me, the less time and attention they have to contact other OD peeps HAHAHA.

Then, kumuha ako ng Gloan. I know, I know, yung “pseudo-restructure” method ko is walang pinag-iba sa tapal system. But my rebut is yung balance ko sa ATOME CASH na ₱14k+ na dapat Kong Bayaran ng ₱3.5k+ per month for 4 more months? Ginawa ko syang ₱2.6k+ per month for 6 months sa Gloan.

A bit higher than I wanted, kasi I had to loan mga ₱14.7k due to Gloan having a service fee na mga almost ₱700 din—which is something I don’t like with Gloan. Pero I had to do what I had to do to survive and SACRIFICE lang talaga sa mga wants and needs.

So it’s getting a bit long and I’ll conclude it here… after 3.5 months (I took the liberty to pay in advance whenever I have extra) since the Atome Cash fiasco, I only need to pay ₱2.6k+ next month para wala na talaga akong utang. And luckily, Pa tapos na rin probation ko sa new job ko, and I’ll finally have my financial freedom back.

NO TO ATOME!! PERIOD!

I RECEIVED DEMAND LETTER FROM BDO CC

Hi, Good day.

Ask lang sana ako anong magandang gagawin kasi I received a demand letter from BDO Credit Card.

I wasn't able to pay since June 2025.

For the context, I was diagnosed with Cancer on June 2025, had to undergo several treatments including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, adding here lots of lots of lab tests in between.

It drained my financial capacity. I have to stopped at work for my treatment. I had no work from July 2025-March 2026, so I have no salary.

I skipped and forgotten this card. Actually I still have other credit cards (EW and BPI) but I managed to pay them off, little by little, so accounts are active.

The credit grew From 55k+ to 89k+

What to do? Can I negotiate to them?

100k Billed on Atome

May bill ako sa atome card which in total umabot na ng 100k.

Paid and deleted some of my OLAS

Hi. 44/F here. January ‘26, I have 20+ OLAS. Kakatapal, I kept on borrowing since feeling ko nababawasan yung utang ko. But it was totally wrong until nabaon ako sa utang.
Maya, Atome, Pesoloan, Megapeso, Mocasa, Fidoph, Cashify, Ft Lending, pesosph, Xlkash, OlpS, Easypeso(Pesomoo), Mr. Cash, Mabilis Cash, Digido, Pesovault, PJF, VPlus, P T, Tala fake from ios, Tonik, Maya Cash/Credit, Spaylater/Sloan, Cash Express and Billease.

Sobrang harassment natanggap ko April of this year and dun nagstart anxiety ko. I reported many of them sa Sec and CICC. Nag DnD din ako sa phone, and stop reading texts from them para lang sa peace of mind ko. I decided to stop patching this July lang and somehow medyo nakaka move on na ako. I am paying them ng paunti-onti. So far, pag may nadedelete akong ola, gumiginhawa talaga pakiramdam ko. As what many people say, malayo pa pero malayo na. Let’s keep on going mga ka-ola!

Atome Cash Loan Reversal

Hi,

So I mistakenly applied for Atome Cash loan amounting to 48k and it was immediately disbursed to my bank account.

I already contacted Atome Support via email for reversal and they told me to follow the repayment instructions in the system. Their support really sucks.

May naka experience po ba ng ganito? How should I handle this? The interest is so high amounting to 68k for 6 months.

Thanks

DEBT FREE!

After years of staying in debt and irresponsibly using my credit cards, I can finally say I’m debt-free. 🥺
From ₱700K to ₱0.

Avalanche method, discipline, better planning, and career growth really helped me get here.
One payment at a time, one good decision at a time. Sana ma-experience niyo rin yung ganitong feeling balang araw. Worth it lahat ng sacrifice. ❤️

Debt

30 | M | College Professor

I’m currently going through one of the most difficult seasons of my life. I have around ₱800k in debt because of the things that have happened in my life. I’m the youngest in my family, and it so happens that I’m the only one working, together with my two nephews.

₱500k loan from my workplace
₱150k loan from a friend
₱150k credit card debt

My family has been facing financial difficulties since my two brothers were diagnosed with serious illnesses and admitted to the hospital last January. Our hospital bill reached around ₱1.5M, but thankfully, around ₱300k was covered through SSS, Pag-IBIG, and other donations.

During that time, since I was the one who had the capacity to help, I borrowed money from my friends and my company to help pay for their hospital bills. My salary is around ₱40k per month, paid every 15th and 30th. I also do overtime and part-time work, but those payments are often delayed.

Now, my sister has also been hospitalized, and I honestly don’t know where I can borrow money anymore. I really want to help her, but I don’t know what to do.

My brothers are still recovering from their operations, and I’m also trying to manage my existing debts and family responsibilities.

I’m hoping that someone can give me some advice or guidance on what I can do. Please be kind in the comments, as I’m currently having a really difficult time making decisions and dealing with everything emotionally. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Need advice: Personal Loan for Debt Consolidation with Low TU Score / HH Risk Grade

Need advice: Personal Loan for Debt Consolidation with Low TU Score / HH Risk Grade

Hi everyone! 😊 Baka may makapag-share po ng experience or advice.

Currently looking po ako for a personal loan of around ₱200,000–₱250,000 for debt consolidation, para ma-consolidate ko sana yung existing financial obligations ko into one more manageable monthly payment.

Currently employed po ako and may stable income. However, my current TransUnion Risk Grade is HH, so medyo nahihirapan po ako ma-approve.

Nakapag-try na rin po ako sa RCBC, CTBC Bank, and Security Bank Finance, pero unfortunately na-decline po yung applications ko due to my credit score/risk grade.

For those who have been in a similar situation:

• May naka-experience na po ba dito na ma-approve for a ₱200K–₱250K personal loan despite having an HH/low TU risk grade?

• Ano pong factors ang nakatulong sa approval?

• Mas okay po ba mag-apply through the bank directly or through an authorized bank sales agent?

• May mga banks po ba na known to consider applications based on income and overall profile kahit mababa ang TU score?

Not looking for fixers or guaranteed approval. I just want to learn from other people's experiences and hopefully find a legitimate option for debt consolidation.

Thank you po sa mga makakapag-share ng experience or advice! 🙏

337k in debt

Hi, 23M! Need advice. I believe my debt isn't as bad as most since there is virtually no interest on my debt as the bulk of these loans are from my parents and my partner.
Parents - 105k
Partner - 220k
office cash adv. 4k
gcash 8k

I currently make about 32k net per month, though i should be due for an increase soon. at the moment, my expenses aren't a lot as I still live w my parents so most of my expenses are wants or needs that won't be covered by parents (such as new clothes for work or food/transpo when I'm working).

Any advice how much I should pay per payroll (bi-weekly). my pay every 2 weeks is roughly 11,000. (the excess is part of a bonus i get per month)
