Somebody needs to ban the OEM knees guy

I’ve been seeing him before I moved out here. He waits for any vail resorts post and brings limitless negativity to those posts and any posts in here.

He seems like a grumpy lonely old man, who derives human connection from Reddit. I see him on ANY POST that mentions vail.

Every post I made mentioning vail he was there with nothing nice to say. Very negative guy

Sweet pocket sized husky looking for his forever home 💕

I'll be in Edwards visiting my dad this weekend (July 3-6) and bringing my foster -- if anyone is looking to adopt, or knows someone! This boy would be a great mountain dog!

Meet Jonah!

This handsome goofball has been with us for about a month and a half weeks, and he fit right in from day one.

🐾 About Jonah:

- Approx. 9-10 months old

- 45 lbs

- Husky mix (the sass gives it away 😆)

- Potty trained

- Crate trained

- Great in the car

- Walks nicely on leash

- Knows sit and shake

- Working on stay and release

🐾 Jonah's favorite things:

- Playing with other dogs

- Belly rubs

- Toys

- Ice cubes (his favorite "treat")

- Zoomies

He's incredibly friendly, loves meeting new people, and has done wonderfully with our young kiddos (2 and 5). He'd do great with dog-savvy kids and would absolutely love a canine sibling to help burn off some of that young-dog energy.

Jonah is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle bug. One minute he's showing off his impressive vertical hops, the next he's flopped upside down asking for belly rubs.

This sweet boy was saved from the euthanasia list at an overcrowded Los Angeles County shelter. Now he's looking for the forever family he deserves.

If you're looking for a medium-sized, playful, affectionate companion who's guaranteed to keep you laughing, Jonah would love to meet you.

Available for adoption through Wild Willow Sanctuary ❤️

(Sanctuary is in Kersey, I'm fostering in Castle Rock, but we'll be up in Edwards/Vail Valley for the holiday weekend to see my dad)

July 4th Visit

My family was going to drive from the Denver area to visit this weekend but the fires have us concerned. Any insights someone from the area could provide would be helpful.

What is this horrific project?

Saw this enormous wall to the north of I70 across from Lionshead. Is this more housing? What an eyesore.

Uber didn’t show

Are there any repercussions when uber doesn’t show up after booking in advance? Ride was confirmed yesterday to arrive at 620a today to take us to the airport. No driver, no communication. Uber text chat just says sorry.
How do you ensure this doesn’t happen again?
The ride was requested in a popular tourist area in the mountains and calling another would have been another 40 min.

What to do in Summit County over the Fourth of July? Thanks!

Hi everyone! My family is heading up to Summit County for the long 4th of July weekend, and we’re staying in Dillon. It’ll be me, my husband, and our 2-year-old.

We really want to experience the mountain holiday magic, but having a toddler means we have to be smart. We are trying to balance seeing some fun events in Dillon, Breck, Frisco, or Vail while strictly avoiding nightmare parking situations, massive bottleneck crowds, or breaking the bank.

Locals and high-country veterans, what are your best tips for us? A few specific questions:

  • Parades: I know Breck and Frisco both have big Main Street parades. Is one of them easier to navigate with a stroller, or significantly less chaotic for parking?
  • Toddler-friendly activities: Are there any quieter, low-key morning events (pancake breakfasts, parks, or light walks) where a 2-year-old can run around without getting trampled by crowds?
  • Evening Plans & Logistics: Since we are staying right in Dillon, is it easier to just stay put for the evening? I heard rumors about a drone show in Breck, is that worth attending? What's the scene usually like around the Dillon Marina or Amphitheater on the 4th?
  • Vail? Is it worth driving over the pass for the day, or should we just stick to Summit County?

Any insider strategies on where to park, what times to completely avoid the roads, or hidden gem spots to watch festivities would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Edwards is now home to a 5-story parking garage tower

The new West End complex in Edwards has gone vertical, and it's started with a massive, five-story parking garage largely left out of all the website's renderings.

Let me start by saying I 100% support more and more dense housing in ski country. I have zero objections to this many bedrooms (or many, many more bedrooms) getting added to Edwards, Colorado. I really wish they came in a layout more similar to Miller Ranch (street grid, trees and pocket parks, walkability), but a single developer's massive complex is fine too, i guess.

My problem is this is giant a giant fucking parking garage. It's far bigger than anything else in town, vertically. It's on a hillside down to the Eagle River, near a beautiful open space park. And it's now Edwards' single defining architectural feature. Some towns reserve that for, IDK, a clocktower or like, a handful of church spires. But no. the building way taller than anything else in Edwards now? A concrete parking garage, abruptly rising above an open field. Brilliant design.

What is it like being a physician in Eagle County?

I used to live in the Valley doing seasonal work a while back, but had to leave for medical school. I am currently in the thick of it with exams and want to see if there's a light at the end of the tunnel here; what is it like being a physician in Eagle County? How's the job market for say, anesthesia or interventional pain management? General surgery? How realistic is coming back permanently and potentially raising a family? I am not inheriting any housing in the area and I am DEFINITELY familiar with how hard it is to find it, but beyond the obvious, I want to know if there are any people in healthcare who can speak to this.

Yeah I can google some of this, but firsthand knowledge is always so much better when it comes to healthcare work. Like, yes there's medical care in the area, but can early career physicians move out, or is it mostly just mid to late career, etc. I'd love to hear any thoughts.

Edit: specifically referring to work environments and job market.

Ein prosit staff in avon are racist

(RACIST ESTABLISHMENT )Today a heavy employee of yours named Nick (which I believe he gave me the wrong name. But he has a full grown beard and had on a red colorful shirt on the night of June 26th 2019 at 11:20pm

Nick(if that’s even his name)

Was extremely disrespectful and came off extremely racist. I had a beer I hadn’t finished I paid 10 dollars for after not coming out of the house for 4 months.

I finally come out and I meet someone so unprofessional and disgusting that I remembered why I don’t go out in Avon Colorado.

Because of your employee I will NEVER go to EIN PROSIT and I will use this message to make other messages on Reddit, yelp, and every other website I can share my experience with.

This experience felt EXTREMELY RACIALLY CHARGED and I don’t want ANY OTHER PERSON OF COLOR to experience this coming to an area that is PREDOMINANTLY WHITE. This is UNACCEPTABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I promise I will do all in my power to keep people from this RACIST ESTABLISHMENT. This experience was extremely racially charged and I’m not going to stay quiet about it.

Disgusting food and disgusting people.

Vail: Grand Hyatt or Sonnealp in summertime

Hi! I’m am looking to go on a vacation this summer (August) with my 9 and 11 year old children. I am thinking of doing 3 nights in Vail and then 3 nights in Breckenridge. A nice hotel pool and hot tub, nice views, and a good location are important (and a nice resort feel). Right now I’m between Sonnealp and Grand Hyatt. Any opinions? We are looking to swim, hike, explore, ride a gondola, my son is a thrill seeker and would love to do some zip lines, ropes course, etc. I’m the only adult so would love a nice place where I can relax a bit and go on some good adventures but also return at the end of the day and treat myself to a nice place to stay and some R&R! Any recs for a place in Breckenridge would be appreciated too!! Thanks so much!
