Just saw Vela teasing a “new collection” on TikTok 👀 Does anyone have an inkling of what’s coming for fall or if it’s just a restock?
I have a big cart ready, but every time I order they drop something new right after 😭 Trying to decide if I should buy now or wait.

The new material is making my hijab journey much harder because they’re so plasticy and don’t sit right without pins which I don’t like using. I’ve stopped buying from vela completely even when they restock colors i’ve been wanting for a long time because of this. Like the title says, how do you guys genuinely justify spending $39+ (Canadian) on a single hijab? I have modal hijabs from other places, and the most I’ve spent on one is $16. They get me by, but I really want the Vela prints, especially the leopard, but I just can’t get myself to justify paying that much. I get it’s handmade and everything, but I still think the price is so excessive. I can’t help but feel like I’m just throwing money away or making stupid financial decisions by spending that much on a single hijab. But then the dupes just aren’t as pretty or nice as the original print.
For context, I’m in university and I have a part-time job on the side, but I just can’t convince myself that it’s worth it. Just wondering how you guys get yourself to spend that much, or if you know of people that resell Velas for cheaper or other stores that are similar would be helpful as well.

i was wondering where else i could get good quality modal hijabs online? i want them to be lightweight and sit flat on my head. i own some modals already but they have that bulky look that does not drape well (if that makes sense😭)

Vela team if you’re here lurking (and I know you are) pleaseeee release more cool toned neutrals, blues, greens, and reds. Especially neutrals!! I want to see more drops like pearl stone, truffle mushroom, deep oak, etc. More gray toned, icy cool neutrals that are wearable! Everything is soooo warm or, at best, neutral. I’d love to see more gray browns, gray beiges, icy neutrals. A blue based red, deep wine, or more cool purples would be amazing too. Everything has too much warmth right now. Thank you in advance!

How do you guys tie your hair with the original triangle undercap. Is my hair too long for it? It just covers the top of my bun am I doing this wrong

I bought all my Velas when I lived in the US but now I am based in toronto, so I wanted to figure out how the duties/taxes work.

1. Currently, when purchasing from Vela, they calculate the extra tax and duties we pay at checkout but do we still pay extra duties when it arrives to Canada?

2. How does redeeming rewards work for Canadian orders?

3. Also I think someone mentioned not having to pay shipping** if you spend more than x amount — would someone be able to confirm this?

4. Lastly, minimum purchase where you don’t pay duties? Assuming there are extra fees after shipping.
