New to VNs and looking for entry hooks

Hey. I finished my first VN recently (that I actively identified as a VN) with Fate Samurai/Remnant a few months back and found it to be perfect for low energy days. So I started Zero Escape 999 recently and planning on getting Baldr Sky as it is currently on sale at GOG. But after that I'm kinda lost where to go from there I got recommended Muv-Luv so maybe that? And I have the Danganronpa Games in my steam libary. So if someone wanna give me their "An Idiots Guide for getting to know Visual Novels" or "If you only play 10 Visual Novels in your life than it better be..." suggestions I would appreciate it.

Visual Novel review: Analyzing School Days by Character criticism

Guess there might be some people here who like the

School Days franchise, so it's judged it as fairly as

possible by some character traits.

Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a Huge Disappointment — Spoiler-Free Review

Steins;Gate Re:Boot is a huge disappointment that adds remarkably little of value as a remake.

With heaps of cut content, and pathetically insignificant new content, it is simply not worth the money over the original.

I'm New to VNs and Need Help Choosing My Next VNs to Buy and Play!

Mornin, everyone! I need some suggestions for what to play next and also what to buy and play later! I'm still really new into the VN space and have only played DDLC, The Shell Part 1, and the common and one character route of Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche. I really enjoyed DDLC for what it was and The Shell has become one of my all-time favorite games. I do have Part 2 and 3 but am planning on playing those more towards the end of the year. As for Kinkoi, I thought the common route was great at first, then got kind of okay towards the end. After playing the Elle character route, I just felt like the game wasn't really my style. I'll probably pick it back up at some point, but for right now I just wasn't really feeling it. The current VNs I own are below.

- Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
- If My Heart Had Wings
- Katawa Shoujo
- YOU and ME and HER: A Love Story
- The Shell Part II: Purgatorio

Any recommendations on new VNs I should pick up that y'all think I would like based on the games I have played would be much appreciated. Also, what game should I try out next? I will probably review the game here on Reddit once I finish it as well.

What VNs would you recommend me based on my taste?

Okay, so I've been playing VNs for about three years now. (And was into anime and manga back when you got bullied for it). I have a little more time off than I usually do at work, and have almost finished all the routes for Slow Damage (Which is right up my alley). I'm hungering for more. I usually prefer things that are dark, well-written, have H-scenes (but I love it when they tie into the plot, or the plot is intelligent) and really draw me in. I am open to all genres. As you'll see I usually read BL titles, but I'm bisexual so I wouldn't mind titles with a guy and a girl, either. Or even Yuri. But Like my anime, I prefer grounded-in-reality H-scenes, if that makes sense? Like, it may be rough but it has to make sense. Not much into things like fetishes that are impossible such as inflation or gender-change (except for things like cannibalism, violence, etc. But those are technically possible, so I'll admit I'm into some aspects, but only with consent or dubcon)

My favourites/What I've played:

  1. The House in Fata Morgana
  2. All Danganronpa Games (1 and 2 were my favourites)
  3. DRAMAtical Murder
  4. Hashihime of the Old Book Town - one of my absolute favourites
  5. Fata Morgana: Requiem for Innocence
  6. Ace Attorney Series
  7. Saya No Uta
  8. Sweet Pool
  9. Steins;Gate (Although I've only read the first one).
  10. Togainu no Chi
  11. Full Service (although this was more about the horny than anything tbh)

A non-Japanese visual novel I enjoyed was the Divine Speaker.

I love well-written stories with well-written characters, especially longer ones with a beautifully layered story like Fata Morgana. That is definitely my favourite, because it helped me realise I was a trans guy (for those who have read it you know why I say that)

I love dark things, I love H-scenes, but if anyone recommends anything with a straight couple (which I don't mind), I really don't like it when the woman is over-sexualised (she can be sexy, don't get me wrong!), her intelligence is underestimated or she is basically r*ped. I can't do that. I like my kinks grounded in realism. Like the way Slow Damage might do it - possible but not a good idea, necessarily.

TL;DR My taste is NSFW stuff with a plot, preferably queer, but if not straight couples are just fine. I st don't like the women being sexualised in that "typical High School of the Dead Way" if I can compare (nothing wrong with liking this! It's just something I don't have a preference for. I prefer small breasts, could also be why).

Anyway, thanks. I really like Nitro+Chiral and I have JAST and Steam, so bonus points if I can get it there, or get something with a fan translation into English.

Mobile based visual novel??

Hello! What's your take on mobile based visual novels? In a world where you see high quality visual novels mostly on PC, do you think a mobile based one will be a good difference?

There are visual novels for mobile but we all know the experience you get there is entirely different from what you get on a PC. From the craftsmanship of the story, the characters, the immersive experience, everything changes.

Would you ever consider such a good quality game in a mobile based version?

If yes, please do provide any more context or pointers you have in mind. My friend and I are coming up with a new project and definitely would love to have everybody's words heard :)
