I strugling to see the difference between 4k and 1080p on Xgimi Titan Noir max.

My movies are on 4k and downscaled in my Dune HD Pro Vision 4k media player.

Tried Super resolution on/off.

A little difference, but not mutch.

Is it the source, projector or screen? Or Just me 😊

106" Matt hvite tentiontab.

Dark room

Yamaha RX-A3070 amplifier.

8k 48gbit hdmi cables.

I am very happy with the projector. Picture quality is Great.

Horizon 20 Base Brightness

Would I have any issues with brightness using the Horizon 20 Base at its lowest brightness setting in a completely dark room on a 90" matte white screen? Or would it still be uncomfortably bright? Or should I get the Elfin Flip 4K instead?

Titan noir max, dble issues

Hey, my slider does nothing, currently on latest version, and something strange happens many many times when I am watching movies with dble on, a green tint comes into play, then come back to normal after a few seconds, possibly after the color switches to something a bit more bright, anyone experienced this?

Thanks a lot

Horizon 20 Dlp update newest edition

I have an H20 pro checking in to see if I’m safe to do the newest DLP firm more update. I’m aware that people have gotten bricked devices from doing the update however I’ve been told to not change the file name and also make sure you follow the instructions for the specific model of people still been doing the update and has your results been successful?

I have done the latest software update via OTA and I’ve noticed an increase in RBE for some reason.

Thanks!

Need help/verification from TITAN Noir owners regarding anti-RBE issue (Magenta tint)

Could anyone who owns the TITAN Noir Max please help me out with a quick test?

I backed the TITAN Noir Max via Kickstarter, but I've encountered a strange issue with my unit

When I turn the anti-RBE feature ON, areas with a specific brightness level show a noticeable magenta tint/line. When I turn the feature OFF, it is barely visible. While someone less sensitive might miss it, it is definitely visible to the naked eye if you are sensitive to color accuracy.

I reached out to XGIMI support, but their response was: "This is a normal optical characteristic when anti-RBE is turned ON, so it is not a defect and cannot be exchanged."

I find this explanation unacceptable. I’ve been using various projector brands for over 10 years and have never experienced an issue like this. If XGIMI claims this isn't a defect, then to me, every unit affected this way is defective. Having skin tones?the most common element in video content?distorted in a specific brightness range when a key feature is ON feels like a design flaw, not a normal characteristic.

I’d really appreciate it if fellow TITAN Noir owners could help me verify this:

Could you please download the image from the link above, play it in full screen with anti-RBE turned ON, and check if the issue occurs? Whether it shows up or not, sharing a picture of your screen would be extremely helpful.

I want to know whether this is an isolated defect on my specific unit or a widespread design flaw affecting the entire TITAN Noir lineup.

Thank you so much for your help!

Avoid XGIMI — terrible after-sales support after their own firmware update broke my autofocus

I seriously regret buying an XGIMI projector, and after this experience I would not recommend the brand to anyone.

I own a MoGo 3 Pro that was working perfectly until I installed an official XGIMI firmware update. Immediately after the update, the autofocus stopped working properly. Every time I turn the projector on, the image can be completely out of focus. Manual focus still works, so the projector is physically capable of producing a sharp image.

I contacted XGIMI support and went through their troubleshooting process. I provided the serial number, purchase invoice, video of the problem, performed the requested tests, and explained multiple times that the issue started immediately after their firmware update.

Their technical team eventually suggested that I downgrade the firmware myself using a USB drive.

The problem? XGIMI's own instructions explicitly warn that this procedure carries risks, including the projector potentially failing to boot after flashing.

I was not comfortable risking turning a projector that still works into a completely unusable device just to troubleshoot a problem that appeared after their own software update.

XGIMI then offered after-sales service, but here's their solution:

I currently live in Brazil, while the projector was purchased in Europe. XGIMI told me they cannot provide after-sales shipping from Brazil.

Their proposed "solution" is:

1. I pay to ship the projector internationally from Brazil to my sister in France.

2. My sister then ships it again from France to XGIMI's warehouse in Germany.

3. Only after they receive and process the projector will they send a replacement to my sister in France.

XGIMI will only cover the final shipment from Germany to France.

So for a problem that appeared immediately after an official XGIMI firmware update, I am expected to pay for international shipping, assume the risk of sending an expensive projector across multiple countries, involve another person in the process, and potentially spend a long time without my projector.

I even asked them to arrange shipping from Brazil, cover the international shipping, or provide another reasonable alternative. Their response was essentially that this is the maximum support they are willing to provide.

This experience completely changed my opinion of XGIMI.

A premium electronics brand isn't just about producing good hardware. After-sales support matters enormously when something goes wrong — especially when the problem appears right after the manufacturer's own software update.

Before buying an XGIMI projector, understand that if you ever move to a country outside their supported shipping regions, you may find yourself in a situation like mine: your warranty may technically exist, but actually using it can become expensive, complicated, and impractical.

I bought XGIMI expecting the level of support you'd expect from a serious international electronics brand. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience at all.

Based on how this case has been handled, I would not buy another XGIMI product, and I cannot recommend the brand.

TNM HDMI + Anthem issues

So the TNM does not play well with Anthem Processors. All sorts of handshake issue, pretty much unusable. The problem is pretty much both Anthem and XGIMI. Just be prepared for HDMI issues if you own an Anthem Processor. My TNM came with a dust blob in the middle of the screen, and yes XGIMI support sucks.

Titan Noir Max How to exit dolby picture mode

Doing some testing with my Titan Noir Max (TNM) and do not have options for film maker or other modes. Seems like I am stuck in Dolby Vision mode. Anyone know how to exit this?

Also , anyone have issues with their projector clicking when adjusting the zoom and shift? was having a ton of issues with light spilling but I think it was just the auto calibration not working right out of the box and crushing image with keystone correction. This is fixed now but the sounds were not great.

TNM HDMI/CEC handshake with PS5

What are the settings that work best for the Titan Noir Max and PS5? I seem to have handshake issues with the PS5 plugged into an AVR.

It could be HDMI or CEC issues.

TNM Fan Abnormal within minutes of first power on

Super disappointed with the experience so far. TNM arrived this evening, brand new unit and within minutes it throws Fan Abnormal. Shutting down in 15 seconds. Of course support is not available, how does such a well packaged device miss something like this in QA, horrible first impression to say the least.

XGIMI HORIZON 20 Max vs XGIMI TITAN Noir Max — which one should I buy?

I’m planning to upgrade my projector and have narrowed it down to two XGIMI models: the HORIZON 20 Max and the TITAN Noir Max.
On paper, the TITAN Noir Max looks like a significant step up, especially with its much higher native contrast, brighter output, dual-iris system and improved optics. But the HORIZON 20 Max seems more practical and considerably easier to live with.
For those who have used either/both:
Is the TITAN Noir Max’s better contrast and black levels really noticeable in real-world movie watching?
How much better is the picture quality compared with the HORIZON 20 Max?
Is the extra brightness actually useful, or is it overkill for a typical living room?
How is the TITAN’s image quality with HDR and dark scenes?
Any issues with firmware/software on the TITAN?
How significant is the difference in gaming performance/input lag?
Is the TITAN worth paying a substantial premium over the HORIZON 20 Max?
If you had the money to buy either today, which one would you choose and why?
My primary use will be movies and TV shows, with some gaming. I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually compared these two rather than just looking at the specifications.
Would love to hear your real-world experiences and whether you think the TITAN Noir Max justifies the extra cost.

Xgimi elfin flip dead on first start up

Bought an Elfin flip today, plugged it in and the indicator started flashing. I can hear the fan turn on and off, but nothing else happens. I've tried several different sockets.

Very dissappointed. Is there anyone that has experienced something similar with the Elfin Flip?

So TNM was supposed to have a retail price of $6k but is now selling retail for $4.5k

We all know XGIMI supposedly gave us a ‘fantastic’ discount of 50% off retail when we ordered through kickstarter, but now it’s being sold retail at projectorscreen.com for $4.5k? Where is this imaginary 6k rrp coming from? No doubt, once the holiday sales start coming in, we can pick it up for less than the 3k we paid through kickstarter. Shame

Titan Noir Max eARC AVR Input Select

i'm a bit surprised/disappointed that there is no built in input switching in the tnm for HDMI CEC devices(devices plugged into the AVR like ps5, Apple TV etc). this works great on my sony bravia tv, but with the TNM i have to use the AVR remote to change inputs. the input button on the xgimi remote is a little puzzling as well, i end up having to use the settings button to get to the input selection. just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same with not being able to select input devices coming over that CEC connection to the AVR in the projector or if there’s an issue on my end.

3D video content

I got the Titan Noir Max and I'm loving it so far — watching Criterion UHD discs is amazing!

Some 3D glasses showed up and I have no idea what to do with them. How do I load 3D content onto this projector? Does my Apple TV box support that somehow? I can't figure out a way to do it.

Or is there a sample file I can download? Why on earth does the projector only support USB-A, isn't everything in the world USB-C at this point? Do I have to go find a USB-A memory stick? I threw all mine away ages ago.

Or is pretty much the only way to watch 3D content to buy 3D blu-rays?

Lot of time powering off unit (until fans stops) and back on fixes issue but sometimes I got to reboot unit to fix issue. Unit up to date with latest firmware via OS and USB.
(unsure why i cannot add pictures on original post)

XGIMI Horizon 20 (base model) DBLE disengaging on bright scenes

Base Horizon 20, ~100" onto a wall, table placement, auto keystone and autofocus disabled.

With DBLE on I get a visible step where it seems to disengage during bright scenes and come back.

I'm aware of the documented DBLE color shift (blue in dark scenes, green on dark-to-bright transitions) and the ProjectorScreen review noting green/pink flashing in bright scenes specifically. XGIMI's help article says they're working with TI on the color temperature shift.

Has anyone gotten a straight answer from XGIMI support on a timeline?

Elfin Flip 4K - upside down when the stand is the right way up?

This might be a dumb question, but I couldn't find a clear answer.

I have a room where I intend to have a projector set up which is 3m from wall to wall, front to back. The desire was to have the projector on a shelf on the wall above the sofa, beaming straight onto the opposite wall.

The Elfin Flip 4K ticks a lot of boxes for me. At this range, it looks like if the shelf is around 2.4m off the ground and the projector is projecting the image upside down it would get me a good sized screen (around 100") at the height that I want it to be (around 1m off the ground), with no need to use any adjustments or keystone and keeping the projector well above the heads of people sitting on the sofa.

The question is then, does this set up work with the Elfin Flip 4K? Can the stand be set up in the correct orientation on a shelf, with the projector turned upside down in it, or do both the stand and projector need to be upside down?
