There are currently no pandas at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo.

This enclosure in the East Garden was built for Japan’s first giant pandas.

It’s set to be demolished soon, so the zoo is displaying it so visitors can reflect on how the pandas once lived there.

The Asian small‑clawed otters were also given ice with fish inside as a way to help them cope with the heat at Chiba zoo.
