Maxwell 2 Headband Options

Has anyone tried both the Capra head strap vs the Wicked Cushions Silicone V2 on the Maxwell 2 and have a preference for which to go with?

iTunes Store Can’t read Album Reviews

Going into the iTunes Store and when I go to any artists albums section I can see albums and easily buy. However I can’t read any reviews or even see the individual songs. It shows there are reviews but tapping on the album does nothing. What is the point of showing there are reviews if I can’t read them. On Windows 11 pc I can go read them through the old iTunes app.
Running iOS 26.5.2 on both my phone and iPad.

A50 Gen 5 with Linux

I’ve narrowed down getting a new headset to the a50 gen 5, Maxwell 2 and the fractal scape.

I’m mostly wondering if there is any newer feedback from anyone using it in Linux.

I know I can update it from my phone or win 11 drive but just wondering about functionality in use.

I did find something called headsetcontrol that seems to have support for the a50 if anyone has used it and can recommend?

Fiio BR15

Looking at the BR15 as a dac / pre amp between my pc and some active speakers I have. It seems like a really solid unit and is 299 cdn where I am located. I haven’t seen many reviews but I don’t really need the headphone out the k13 has.

Beyond the wave theory review has anyone had it compared to a Schiit Mimir which is my other option. I’ve liked the Schiit dacs in the past but yeah for the mimir and a pre amp it’s quite a bit more.

Also any feedback using it in Linux as I’m looking to move from win 11.

Wireless Gaming Options

Wireless Gaming Headset
I think I have narrowed my picks down to 3 at this point (perhaps 4). I do want wireless, I know I can get better if I go cabled. I am coming from a Sennheiser Game One which has worked fine for me overall for a decade roughly.

In no particular order

Maxwell 2 or Astro A50 gen 5 (would really be interested in someone who has feedback on both with the stealthz pads from GadgetryTech)
Fractal Scape (Web based Eq and customization interests me moving to linux possibly although I think the Audeze and Astro can be changed on my iOS device anyways)
Possibly Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2 since they seem to be getting good reviews

I 90% play single player games and the rest is music. I might 1% play something like War Thunder but I do not care about competitive. I did try the Maxwell 1 at one point and really liked the sound but had some weird issue with hearing my pulse while wearing them.

I also have a physically demanding job and I guess I didn't look forward to wearing them when I got home. I only play a hour or so a day and I didn't pursue the aftermarket headbands at the time.

I do like a detailed sound but I am a bit sensitive sometimes to too much from a bunch of head injuries when I was younger.
I think most of these don’t have a native Linux app but most have an app or web based client, I do have Win 11 for now to adjust settings anyways but would like feedback in Linux if it matters.

All of them fall within my budget CDN.

Schiit Kara/Mimir

I’ve been needing to get a new DAC for my office and active speakers. The Mimir seems to be getting great reviews and with forkbeard could be a digital preamp. I like the idea though of the Kara with its volume control and a headphone output.
I’m trying to really justify why going with this over something like the Fiio k13 to my partner though beyond I like Schiit stuff. What else am I going to notice about a much higher end pre amp?

Network Install Advice

Was looking at having my home wired with cat6a and had a couple quotes. I currently have 1.5GB fiber but the area should be getting up to 5GB at some point for internet. There are a few things I am unsure on though.

  1. I wanted a few wireless AP installed in the house with wired backhaul for the 3 AP and then 6 devices currently wired with an additional computer and NAS at some point in the future. I also would like 2.5gb file transferring capability at minimum long term.
One quote I have has the Alta Labs Route 10 and a Alta Labs S24-POE switch which has more then enough capacity for me but am I wrong in that all the ports are 1GB?

  2. What is a Rack Data Package 24 - 6A Shielded 24 port CAT6 data punch down package for? Basic searching is that it is for blocking EMI/RFI but again is it something to consider in a home enviroment.

  3. I am being recommended to get a Wattbox battery backup and conditioner which is taking the project over what I really had budgeted for. Is a regular APC or Cyberpower UPS enough really for a home network?

Thanks for any advice.

Small Home Mesh Network Options

I am looking at upgrading my home network from an older Asus RT AC-86U I have had since I lived in a basement suite. The house I am in now is about 3400 sqft and 2 levels. I will be getting the house wired with a few drops where I have a home theater and a kids media room. We mainly do PC gaming, streaming shows and music but I am considering getting my own plex or own NAS with bluray rips at some point. Our wireless is ok right now but it does terrible with video calls and at times streaming movies. I have fiber 1.5 GB internet but already am being offered to go up to 5 at some point.
I am considering the Dream Router 7 and additional gear vs an Asus BE-98 and a couple similar switches and Access points to make a mesh network with wired backhaul.

My basic question is mostly around the Unifi Express 7. My thought was to use them to expand the wireless network in a mesh at a couple points in the house where I have media rooms and will need to put switches in those areas. Do i Connect the switches to the Dream Router, or can i change the Express 7 WAN port to LAN for a switch to connect to and use it in a mesh setup. The Design Centre seemed to want me to connect the Express 7 into the switch and the switch to the Dream Router.

Is there something different to consider from Ubiquiti instead of the Express 7 as access points in the house? The u7 Pro xg in the ceiling were the other options I could understand but I'd prefer not to put something in the ceiling in some ways to cut down on any labor.

Equipment in house.
3 PC Wired
2-4 Mobile Phones/Tablets wifi
2-3 AVR Wired
2 Apple TV/NVidia Shield Wired
Printer (could just stay wireless)
NAS for PLEX or something similar long term

Sorry I don't have floor plans to put up.
Thanks for any advice.
