I can understand playing against Diamonds in Emerald. I can understand playing against "Smurfs" in Emerald. That's completely fine. But why am I as an Emerald III being put against people that have only twice finished a season below Diamond in three years and [in one season finished 117 LP *Master?*](https://i.imgur.com/QqzztlJ.png). How is my MMR as someone that fell from Emerald I to Plat and back to Emerald III-II in any way the same MMR as this player, or the other diamond peak player in the support role?

I have a 45% winrate over the past 20 games, so surely I'd have lost enough for my MMR to be nowhere near where a former master player should ever be able to touch my game. I am not that good of a player. I don't even belong in *emerald* meanwhile, so why the hell am I against players that have reached the literal top .01% of the game at any point in time? You can pretty clearly see an average bronze/silver performance from me over the past 20-40 games and it's reflected in the winrate.

EDIT: For reference. https://i.imgur.com/NcQlxof.png This was my LP gains in 2020 with a significantly higher winrate and I lost like 20-25 LP. At the moment, I gain +19/-21 which I just flat out should not have after losing nearly 60 of my last 100 games. So this is solidly an instance of ranked inflation ruining lower skilled player experiences.

The game was emerald but the Rengar and Sivir in this clip were diamond and the enemy team had two gold accs somehow. We later won the game 4v5 (our Karma gave up)

For reference, I'm a bronze average player who hasn't ever seen higher than plat III in the past. This season, I started in iron and finished like bronze III or so and had nothing but +19/-21 or so games for a while which was to be expected. But then suddenly it jumped up to +/- 20 and skyrocketed me to like Emerald I 13 LP which I very much don't deserve. The games are absolutely disgusting here and I went on close to a 20 game loss streak save for a few wins here and there. I very much don't deserve this rank and I actively hate being in emerald and kind of wish I was back in gold/plat. I've been hand-leveling an account on the side to work on off-role champs like Ahri (since Zeri/Akali are the only champs i really consistently play) and now I'm running into emeralds on that account too when it's only level 20.

It's just obnoxious because I know I'm probably not going to hit diamond this season (possibly ever), but I'm apparently not even bad enough to demote back into plat anymore either. So I'm just stuck in this miserable ass ELO and I hate it. Riot sincerely needs to fix their LP gains because there's absolutely zero reason for why a player like me needs to be in this ELO. I'm a gold player at best.
