Comforters!!

I’ve been seeking out a comforter that meets the following criteria and its feeling impossible to find:

*cool to the touch
*fluffy
*machine wash
*machine dry
*NO duvet cover
*healthier materials

My husband sleeps very hot. We currently have the buffy comforter with the duvet cover and we enjoy it a lot but we are sick of dealing with duvets and want just one fluffy comforter i can wash and dry on a gentle cycle easily that keeps us cool. The buffy comforter itself is dry clean only and not practical for us with a dog and young kids.

Is this normal?

Is it normal for the circular vent leading outside to be so much higher than the hood? This is in the exact space it is going to get installed.

Edit: i’m not asking for cabinet/aesthetic reasons, I’m asking for vent function reasons! (:

I am gutting a home right now and planning on carpeting the upstairs. The bedroom furniture shown in the picture will stay the same. Walls will be Benjamin Moore Cloud White. what color carpet is your favorite based on that?!
