Just now realising this was probably medical assault

When I was a kid, maybe 7 years old, I went to the doctor because I probably had a uti. I remember my parents telling me I was gonna have to pee into a cup and that alone felt terrifying to me, so when this male doctor performs a pelvic exam on me I was shocked to say the least. I honestly can’t remember much from this experience but what I do remember is him shoving a q-tip into my urethra to gather a sample.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve just constructed this whole scenario in my head, it feels so incredibly unlikely for it to have actually happened. Idk that’s the whole post I guess, it’s crazy to be 25 years old and finally grasping the severity of this. Or is this common? Is this just the way to check for uti’s in young girls? It’s not like I can get access to my journal entries from almost 20 years ago, so I guess I’ll never know

I'm so sick of having female anatomy, everything feels invasive, violating, and violent

I was researching the different kinds of pelvic pain that I experience, and stumbled upon a study where they scanned couples in an MRI during sex to get a picture of what happens internally. It seems that this study has done so much for understanding what happens to the female anatomy during sex and arousal, but the video left me physically gagging. It looked so violent, her organs were being pushed up and around her entire gut. I showed my boyfriend and with little reaction he said "it looks like she's being murdered" before abandoning the subject. It felt violating to watch, and the thought of my internal organs being "massacred" like this is enough to make me feel like I never want to be intimate again. When having had sex for a longer time I often get a dull ache above my belly button, I feel like crying after now having realised why.

Why is having sex as a woman so violent? I'm sure that a lot of these feelings stem from having been mildly sexually assaulted but I'm so incredibly sick of having to be split open and for my internal organs to be pounded. Just thinking of what it feels like to have your cervix hit during penetration makes me recoil in disgust. The thought of just having a cervix makes me disgusted for some reason actually. (My boyfriend is so sweet and gentle, he's not doing anything wrong)

"Sex shouldn't be painful, seek medical help", and so I did. Poked and prodded, everything has to be shoved up into the most fragile parts of your body all the time. Medical tools that were used to extract bullets from soldiers are deemed appropriate to pierce your internal organs without numbing, metal devices that feel like they split you in half and tear you up are used to just have a little look. After all this they say that there's nothing wrong and it's just anxiety, and you're sent home with no solution in sight.

Me and my boyfriend just ordered standardised STD-tests in case an infection has laid dormant and has activated. The same tests for the same infections, but he's being sent test tubes for urine samples and I'm being sent a bunch of swabs to shove into myself and dig around. These tests are issued by my country's official healthcare services, why couldn't I get the luxury of peeing in a cup?I'm so god damn sick of it, at this point I would rather not have any reproductive organs at all if I have to feel so violated all the time.

This is probably neither coherent or cohesive, but I just needed to get it off my chest.

Edit: Some of y'all probably need to read up on rule number 6 about invalidation xoxo

Edit: y’all are really hung up on telling me I don’t understand basic human anatomy and less on the fact that this is a vent post where I express being sick of the pain and discomfort of vaginal sex and medical examinations. Reading comprehension of a wet sock I stg. Thanks to the ones who have left really nice comments<3

Terrified of reversal risks

So my dad [58] had an ileostomy put in as a result of a perforated bowel and sepsis, and he’s probably having this reversed in a couple of months. He’s had it since late march and since then he’s plummeted in weight and hydration because he’s only using 2 metres of is bowel.

I’m terrified that he’s gonna go into septic shock again, or some other complication, and not make it this time because he’s so frail. Can people tell me what it’s actually like? I know there are always risks but do I need to be this worried about him dying?

My pills dry me out so much that I tear during sex, advice????

So I’ve [25F] been on Slinda since January due to dysmenorrhea and suspected PMDD, AND LIFE HAS BEEN SO AMAZING. I can make plans without having to work around my cycle, I can go to my classes every week, I can take care of my pets and myself, I have so much energy! I can’t believe that I managed to survive 13 years while turning into a fatigued and depressed monster for one and a half week every month, it’s unfathomable that we’re expected to live like this and perform. In other words, going off the pill is out of the question.

However, it’s really stunted my natural lubrication and I tear pretty much every time I have sex. Sometimes I even bleed. That along with how it’s affecting my libido negatively is making sex feel really off putting to me, and I think it’s starting to affect my relationship. What can I do about this? I use lube but I feel like it dries out too quickly. We engage in foreplay but I have adhd so I get bored, having more foreplay probably won’t be a solution unless it’s something new. And what can I do to increase my libido? I really don’t think about sex at all and most advances are from my boyfriend [25M] which are becoming fewer and further in between as well. He’s the sweetest and I really want to want intimacy with him again.

TLDR: Side effects make me dry and I tear every time during sex, as well as having no libido. This is starting to affect my relationship. Please help!!<3

How to fatten these guys up??

So these scoundrels are Poe (Allan), Freja, and Mae.
Poe and Freja are young, happy, and healthy, but are a bit on the lean side. I’d prefer if they had some more meat on their bones. Mae is almost 8 years old, has arthritis, a bit of bladder sludge, and is very picky. This means that she’s on a very strict diet chosen by me and (unfortunately) herself.

They’re all on a typically recommended diet for guinea pigs, and the two youngsters definitely aren’t underweight but I’m not entirely pleased. What are some healthy alternatives to fatten them up a bit?

Exotic vets in Malmö?

Edit: I know about Smådjurskliniken in Lomma, I’m looking for alternatives :)<3

Hi! I’ve lately really been struggling getting appointments to exotic vets in Malmö, they don’t really seem to exist anymore? I’m genuinely very worried, where am I even supposed to take my pets in an emergency? Does anyone have any advice on where I can take my exotic pets, specifically in emergencies? I don’t have a car so preferably in Malmö, but I’ll do what I need to. I have guinea pigs, so it’s not a rare or difficult pet but in an emergency they need care super fast.

Of course Smådjurskliniken in Lomma are the first ones I call, but for an entire decade I’ve never once managed to get an emergency appointment there. Arken Zoo in Toftanäs is my go to vet. They’re fantastic but I’m finding it increasingly more difficult to get emergency exo appointments there, and they often end up referring me to Lomma for continued diagnosis (EXPENSIVE!).

A few years ago I’d have to call maybe two or three clinics before getting an emergency appointment somewhere, but I was mainly turned down due to them being fully booked. About two years ago I started noticing a trend where my few select clinics I’d visited over the years suddenly didn’t admit exotic pets anymore? I called seven clinics before being referred to Trelleborg of all places (they did a fantastic job though). Now they don’t treat exotics anymore either. I’m genuinely so confused and disappointed at the state of exotic veterinary care in Sweden’s third largest city.

Extreme memory impairment, I’m so afraid it’s vascular dementia

My 58 year old dad had a stroke late march this year as a result of sepsis. This made him go completely blind and he also has extreme memory impairment. He can’t remember where he lives (he’s currently in a rehab facility), how old he is, which year it is, the fact that I’ve moved out of their house, and he’s started calling me by my mother’s name a lot.

I made the mistake of googling, and discovered that there’s a type of dementia you can get after a stroke. His memory has gotten better, but some things just aren’t improving. I’m absolutely devastated by my search results.

I guess what I’m wondering is if anyone has had memory loss this bad and for it to not have been vascular dementia?

Side note, I’ve been stalking this subreddit for a while now and I’m so proud of everyone<3 You’re all doing an amazing job
