• PLAYOFF UPDATE •
We’ve been getting a lot of messages asking “what’s going on with the playoffs?” WELL, we finally have an update for you!
Our playoff game that was originally scheduled on Monday evening ended in a 2-2 tie, but unfortunately due to inclement weather, our game was postponed. We have official word now that we will travel on Saturday, August 1 to complete the penalty shootout with the winner moving on the same day to play the next leg of the playoffs against the Woodbridge Strikers.
If the men are successful in the penalty shootout, we have been told the game will be live streamed (we know how happy this will make everyone!) 🥳
That’s it, there’s the update. Everything on the line: Saturday night penalties. 🔥
Saturday's Game
Been a bit quiet here on r/KingstonSentinels.
Anyone else going to the game Saturday?
Supporters Group
I don't know if it would be up and running for this season but would anyone ever be interested in getting together before a game for a drink and to chat soccer? Get a little supporters group going? Might be something to gauge interest in especially if sentinels return for another season.
Thoughts?
We have the men playing away tonight, hopefully it'll be streamed online.
Women play at home Sunday. Anyone checking it out ?
The Borough FC - North Mississauga in Ontario Premier League 2 last Saturday (tier 3 or 4 in the Canadian system depending if you count MLS or not)
Who said nobody cares about pro-am local soccer leagues in Canada ?
The game is definitely growing and the pro/rel system in Ontario/Quebec makes it even more interesting
CPL execs should look into this pro-am markets with good local support for expansions first rather than trying to create new clubs from scratch
Big win last night for the sentinels! Anyone check out the game ?
Only team out there with two wins, sitting on top of the table.
Game 2 tomorrow. It's a bit later than last week but I'm wondering if anyone is going ?
I was at the Kingston Sentinels’ first match yesterday, and it was a great experience.
Good crowd, lots of families, great atmosphere, and you could feel people getting behind the team.
Men’s team won 4–1
Women’s team won 2–0
Both teams looked solid and it was fun to watch.
I was told they had 527 people through the gates, which is a pretty strong start for something brand new. If this keeps growing, it could turn into something really special for the city.
If you’re on the fence about going, it’s worth checking out.
