Are we all a sweaty mess with this heat? What do we wear to work?

I work in corporate and the last few weeks I’ve literally stank from sweat 🫩🫩 I am so embarrassed as someone who doesn’t usually sweat, it’s such an intense heat and humidity and no matter what I wear to the office (with AC!) I feel like I’m sweating out of every pore of my body by noon 🤣

Tax credits for married couple during maternity

Sorry this has been asked before but I can’t find an exact answer
Myself and my partner are getting married but are expecting a baby now.
Is it better to be married before we have the baby so we can be jointly assessed & I assign my tax credits to my partner?
For reference he makes gross 56k and I make 47k
Thanks in advance

Has anyone not gone back to work after maternity?

For example a marketer doing some side jobs to keep a bit of money coming in while staying on their own terms?

Coming to the end of my Matt leave and I’ll be working for a few months just to ensure the company don’t take my maternity benefit back but after that I’m really thinking - how can I make this work for myself? I want to be a stay at home mom with my baby but want to make a small bit of money just to keep things going while relying on my husbands income

It’s either that or wait a few months and then go on another maternity leave but then I’ll have 2 under 2 ish so that isn’t exactly ideal either 😭😂

Appreciate any responses or ideas ye had 🥹

What are we eating? I look forward to every meal and then either get the ick for it or feel sick after 🥲

Heard it’s better to eat less and more frequently? Any suggestions of what food ye have discovered that has been good? I’m at my wits end I loved my food before this 🥲

How to celebrate my bfs 30th birthday when he doesn’t really like his birthday?

Not to generalise but I think it is fair to say most men hate marking their birthdays, any suggestions for how to celebrate a man who doesn’t want to have a 30th?
Anything ye did that ye loved for a partner or for yourself? A 30th is so big I don’t want to not mark it

Going on maternity leave in 6 months but I hate my job 🥹 it’s making me not enjoy my time before the baby arrives

Is anyone else in this boat? I’m nearly thinking so far ahead to after maternity leave and being allergic to returning 🥹 i work in pharmaceuticals in an office based job, I just want to be a stay at home mom and enjoy family life… it’s so hard to have the balance

Is there any implications doing a back to back maternity leave in a company?

•Been in a company 3 years (permanent)
•About to go on maternity leave soon
•My company offer 6 months full pay and then the usual 6 months at half salary/statutory state pay etc whatever it’s called!

I need to make it clear I hate this place 😂 and my husband and I have always planned to have more than one child.

My question is, is there any issue for me or that they may flag that I can’t come back from maternity leave next year and tell them I’m due again in 2-3 months?

12 week scan with CUMH LMP dates

Hi everyone, I went to my GP to let them know I was pregnant & get them to refer me for my 12 week scan but I have PCOS / longer cycles so I ended up doing a private scan with reproscan to see if everything was alright or if I was actually not as far along as I thought

•My LMP would date me at 12 weeks on July 7th

•However through the scan I now know I’d actually be 12 weeks on July 26th (my cycles are around 40 days so I ovulate usually on CD 27)

The CUMH appt letter should be here soon and I’m just wondering should I reschedule for when I know I’m actually 12 weeks or just take the 12 week scan earlier than I’m measuring whenever they have it initially scheduled for?

Thank ye hope this makes sense!

Those of you that are self employed - what do ye do?

And how can I do it?

I need out of this 9-5 hell 🤣😭

Seeing alot of new types of jobs that are a bit quirky like wedding chaperone dog minders / wedding content creator’s etc (not trying to be wedding specific) but I find myself constantly dreaming of a more enjoyable job and the independence

Naming ceremony venue?

Not doing a christening but want to mark the day with some sort of naming ceremony for my baby, we don’t necessarily need a celebrant for the occasion we could just do some intimate family speeches etc but I can’t for the life of me find a good venue, we had our wedding in the anglers so not too sure do we want to revisit even though it was fantastic. Probs 40-50 people, ideally finger food

Is the outdoor area in white horse in ballincollig any good? I like flannerys in glasheen but it’s a very dark venue

Any ideas / inspo would be great

TIA

Asking a friend (business owner) to make you a job offer so your current employer can counter it?

Anyone ever tried it? The temptation from me in an under paid high stress role 🤣

Early scan with reproscan - late ovulation causing potential too early to show?

Hi everyone, I’m 8 weeks 1 day pregnant today dating from LMP but I ovulated on CD27 which technically means I’m more like 6 weeks ish ?

I have an early scan on Thursday with Reproscan and I’m worried it’s going to make me more anxious then putting me at ease! On the day of the scan I’ll be 8 weeks 4 days but technically more like 6 weeks 4 days gestational age.

My question is - Would ye still go with the scan or would ye try postphone by a week or two?
Is it likely at 6 weeks 4 days that nothing will be seen on the scan and I’ll just be stressed 🥲

Thanks in advance x

Why do some women/couples say their pregnancy ‘wasn’t planned/an accident’ when they were actually actively trying?

Disclaimer : I want to tell family and friends our baby was a suprise, my partner doesn’t like the idea of saying it ‘wasn’t planned’. He doesn’t get why I would prefer to say we always wanted a baby but weren’t currently planning on having one this year…

it just to portray more of a casual approach? Did you tell your friends and family it was a surprise/accident when ye were actually trying?

I don’t ask in a mean way I’m just curious I know it’s completely up to the individual

Alcudia or Cala Esmeralda?

HELP PLEASE cannot for the life of me choose a mini honeymoon spot in Mallorca, we are travelling with our baby (1 year old) in June 2027 from the UK. Is Alcudia actually nice or has it gotten very tacky? We love Spanish food and some bit of authenticity.

Currently looking at Innside by Melia in Alcudia or Inturotel Esmeralda Park

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance
