I paid 4000 per course for registration

After the result, I registered for 3 courses and the fees was 4000 per course. I thought I got good marks (96% in qualifier) so i am getting some discount.

So I paid 12100 fees for 3 courses. 12000 for courses + 100 for some other fees.

Now It is showing 6000 per course for other students who are registering now.

Now what should I do ???

Join us in the GATE 2029/2030 prep !!

Hlo everyone.

I am pursuing IIT M BS Data science as standalone. I just gave quiz 1 on 19th so i just enrolled from the may term. My aim is to do masters in AI from IIT Madras or IISC and hence aiming for a really good rank in GATE 2029/2030.

So i have created a group of the students who are also aiming for GATE CS and GATE DA papers.

This is how we plan to prep :

First we will select a subject from GATE CS/DA syllabus, then we will find the best course available for that subject. We will talk to the previous GATE Toppers and research from the internet to find the best available course on that subject. Then we will arrange that course from somewhere like telegram or if i have to buy the course from PW/Unacademy/Udemy/GO Classes I will do that.

The first subject that we are going to do is discrete maths from GO Classes as it is the best course for Discrete Maths.

Then after selecting the course, We will hold live sessions in which I will share my screen and play the lecture and all of us will watch it together in the meeting/session and after completing the lecture we will discuss the homework of the lecture together in the meet itself. So in one session/meet we will do 1 lecture + its homework.

We will hold 4-5 such sessions per week so that we can complete the syllabus before 2029 attempt. Also after completing the syllabus, we will hold PYQ sessions in which we will solve each and every PYQ together.

Also all Sessions recording, Class notes, HW discussion pdf will be provided on a private telegram channel. So if someone misses the session, they can refer to the telegram channel and watch the lectures + HW discussion from the recording.

If you are also aiming for GATE 2029/2030 CS+DA, you can join us for the best preparations. The only thing to note is that it will be very time taking as we will study from the most detailed courses for each subject. We plan to hold 4-5 session per week, so it will be approx 12-15 hours of study per week. So join only if you can commit this amount of time.

You can dm me if you are interested. There is absolutely no charge or something. I will myself arrange all the courses.

Managing IITM BS Electronic Systems lab visits during NIT Hamirpur vacations — Is it practically possible?

Hi everyone,

My friend will likely be joining NIT Hamirpur for BTech ECE this year, and he want to parallelly pursue the IIT Madras BS in Electronic Systems. While the theory courses work out, his main worry is the mandatory lab component where we have to physically visit the IIT Madras campus for 1-2 weeks for the final lab exams.

For seniors balancing this BS degree alongside a regular BTech:

  1. Does IIT Madras provide enough flexibility during winter (Nov/Dec) and summer (May/June) breaks so that campus lab visits don't clash with NIT Hamirpur’s regular semester and attendance?

  2. Is it hard to manage the weekly at home hardware lab kit assignments while living in an NIT hostel room?

The Origin of Shinigamis : My fan Story/Theory

In the fictional universe of Death Note, Shinigami do not appear to have a divine origin because they do not have any purpose nor do they go to hellor heaven. Another thing is tht they depends on humans lifespan to survive and extend their life and this means that they do noy predate Humans.

Now, Here is my fan theory about their origin :

In ancient times, there was a Human who feared death above all else. He was obsessed with achieving immortality. He was a black magician and devoted his life to forbidden rituals and dark knowledge and created the first Death Note that was capable of taking a person's life and transferring their remaining lifespan to its user.

Then using this notebook, he secretly murdered people from his own community and extended his life again and again. Decades passed, yet he showed no signs of aging. Eventually, the people around him grew suspicious. They investigated and finally found the truth.

The community was horrified by what he had done. They placed a powerful curse of meaningless immortality upon him. He would never truly die, yet he would be stripped of everything that made life worth living. He would be banished to a dead and empty realm where he could experience no pleasure, companionship, or worldly reward.

Thus, This man became the first Shinigami : "The Shinigami King".

For centuries, the Shinigami King wandered alone in thw Shinigami realm. There was no sunlight, no growth, and no joy there but only endless emptiness.

But after that the curse did not vanish and was still in place. And the Humans who were obsessed with conquering death and sacrificed others, committed atrocities and pursued immortality through forbidden means used to endup in the shinigami realm after death as shinigamis. Lets say, Rem was a queen who used to drink blood of childrens to gain immortality, Ryuk was a priest who sacrificed his disciples for a ritual to extend his lifespan.

But the difference between these shinigamis and the first shinigami; The Shinigami King was that these new shinigamis did not remember their human life and still required the lifespan of humans to extend their life. Since, only The Shinigami King knew how to create a death note, he became their king and gave deathnotes to each of them so that they can survive by stealing the life of humans.

And the appearances of tge shinigamis reflect the nature of their sins and obsessions. The more horrible things they did as humans to achieve immortality, more monstrous the appearance.

And as the Shinigami population grew, the King established laws to govern them. But after thousands of years the curse became weak and stopped working and hence the population of shinigamis is same since thousands of years.

Why Ryuk was so interested in 'Eye Deal' with Light Yagami ?

Ryuk was clearly interested in the eye deal with light yagami. He offered it to light yagami several times. But why was he so excited about it ? This deal does not benefit him in any way for sure. On the other hand this deal would have taken the thrill of the cat and mouse game, the reason Ryuk was there for, as light would have killed L easily. And Light lifetime duration was Ryuk's entertainment duration, so eye deal would have cut the Ryuk intertainment Time in half too.

I know most of you already know about it. But This post is for new students who wants to know if they will be eligible for GATE and Mtech admission after completing this degree. Here is everything I know :

GATE :

-Bsc students are eligible for Gate from 3rd year onwards.

-BS Students are also eligible for GATE from 3rd year onwards.

ADMISSION IN MTECH :

-For MTech in all institutes via GATE, 4 year program like BTech/BE/BS after 12th class is necessary. So, Bsc students can appear for Gate but can not take admission in Mtech, Only BS students can take admission in Mtech.

-By law, This degree has to be considered equivalent to regular offline BS Degree. So all the institutes that accepts BS degree should accept this degree as well.

-Top Institutes of India, Like IITs, BITS Pilani, IISC Bangalore have freedom to choose their own eligibility criteria and can change it whenever they want. So These colleges may or may not accept this degree for their Regular Mtech program. Most Probably, More and more IITs will start accepting this Degree for MTech because many of them are themselves coming up with online degrees, so if they reject students on the basis of "ONLINE" mode, they will have to reject their own online degree students too.

What we know for sure ( as of now) :

- IIT Madras, IISC Bangalore, IIT Ropar, IIT Guwahati Accepts this degree.

- BITS Pilani do not accepts this degree. They accept only BTech/BE.

- IIT Kanpur till 2024 had explicitly mentioned on their eligibility criteria that online/distance degrees are not eligible for Regular Mtech Programs but there was a report about 1 student of this degree who got into IIT Kanpur Mtech.

About other IITs nothing can be said for sure.
