Hello everyone! Recently I was trying to choose between Fangs of Fortune, Veil of Shadows, and My Journey to You. I discovered that all three dramas have Chen Duling in them. I have nothing against Chen Duling the actress, but I was put off by her character in Mysterious Lotus Casebook. Does her acting get better in any of the three dramas, and if so, which performance is the best? Come to that, which of the three dramas would you recommend? Thank you.

Late to the party but I watched this because it was recommended as a good non-idol drama.

This shows a good approximation of corporate life in China-- long hours, bureaucracy, seniority, etc. Plot was good, pacing was good. The only problem I had was I couldn't root for the main character. Everytime something came up, she would either solve it or something would happen to save her.  Other than her break up with her boyfriend at the beginning, she had pretty smooth sailing. Sun Li's acting is not bad, but nothing special, I don't feel that Su Xiao is struggling at all. At times it's like she's just going along with what's happening. She stepped up at the ending though. Honestly the minor characters have better acting than the main character.

I was much more drawn to the acting of Gao Ye, who plays the longsuffering Su Hongmei who is always caught between a rock and a hard place. With her I can feel the angst, I can feel the frustration, I can feel her envy, I can feel her despair. I was so impressed by Gao Ye's performance that I looked up her other dramas and movies and will watch those next (Under The Hawthorn Tree, The Knockout). I was happy for Hongmei because she got her life together at the end.

Another breath of fresh air was Yang Chaoyue who played the bubbly secretary Du Juan. I kept looking forward to her scenes because of her fun personality translating well into the quirky yet kind Du Juan.

Xia Ming played by Mark Zhao is also an interesting character because he's morally grey. But near the latter episodes he fades into the background only to make a grand appearance at the end.

Overall, this was only okay for me because there wasn't enough build-up towards the end and the ending is so meh. Like, "That's it?" It doesn't even resolve any loose ends, like >!what happens to the people on the agricultural land!< And the acting of the minor characters is more impressive than the main character. I am somewhat disappointed in this drama because it's not as great as it was described.

Please recommend me a great non-idol drama. Thank you.

35/F ADHD possible AuDHD with bipolar 2 newly diagnosed four months ago.

Everyday I struggle with doing most activities. I am obese (thanks for the additional weight gain lithium) and it's an absolute struggle for me to exercise. It's a small miracle when I do.

I stopped taking my Concerta a while back because of a mixed episode and also because of a shortage. However, when I tried taking Concerta again just for kicks, I became motivated again. No more stuggling to get out of the house, no more difficulty exercising. What gives? It's like I'm a different person. I plan to take Concerta only when absolutely needed since there's still a shortage.

Hello everyone. I just found out about non idol dramas and was advised to go here. For a beginner to non-idol dramas, what are the ones you would recommend?

Hello, everyone. I'm on ep 14 of Glory with Neo and Nezha as the leads. I'm thinking of dropping it because it hasn't shown any action and I feel my life is wasting away due to all the little side intrigues. Should I watch something else? Please recommend me something you think is better.

Ever since I was diagnosed I've been having trouble falling asleep. Even if I take Seroquel 25 mg at night as prescribed by my psych, I still have trouble falling asleep. I feel like not being able to sleep well is what causes me to be demotivated. I want to do so many things but I find it hard to get up in the morning. What makes you fall asleep well? (Only legal prescrption and non prescription meds please)

I watched The Heir and while it has some good points, ultimately I was disappointed.

First off, the cinematography was superb, the locations were gorgeous, the costumes were great, the actors were excellent.

Most of my issues are with the writing. The thing that irked me the most was that there were TOO MANY DIFFICULTIES. Just when the FL had got back on her feet, boom! another calamity strikes. For a series that claims to be about ink-making, we didn't really see that much ink-making on the screen.

Second were the plot holes. When >!the ML is sent into exile then comes back three years later!< they don't exactly explain how that happpens.

Third >!was the pesky aunt!<, they allowed her to stay so long and it was getting so repetitive with the difficulties.

Fourth was the episodes near the end... they made it too long and it got draggy. But this is from the same director of Yanxi Palace, so he had to make it 42 episodes.

You know, life just isn't the same anymore. I just wish I could go back to the 90s and early 2000s. Life was simpler and less stressful. Even if we didn't have that much, we were happy. Nowadays it's all about the money.

People were much nicer then. Kids were still respectful. Now everyone's glued to their phones and kids don't use honorifics. Keeping your word used to mean something. People didn't go crazy with the plastic surgery and still looked like people. Bills weren't so crazy expensive.

Is it just me, or di lang talaga ako natutong mag-adulting kaya hanap ko pa din ang 90s?

Do you ever feel like not going out of the house? I don't wanna see people, I don't want to talk to them and explain about my life, I just want to stay at home.

What household chore do you think is absolutely useless and a waste of your time? You hate it with a passion and if possible you'd avoid it at all costs.

I hate changing the curtains. It's dangerous, awkward,and boring.
