Even if you wouldn't use it, what is a mod that you are FLABBERGASTED doesn't exist?

There are 134.4 thousand mods for Skyrim Special Edition, but every day someone goes searching for a mod that doesn't exist. For example, I am just today shocked that an SKSE mod to simply disable the "is married" check for the player to enable polygamy doesn't exist.

Relationship Dialogue Overhaul - set NPCs as "married"?

Stumbled on this post today while searching for a decently functional polygamy mod. I've been encountering issues with Multiple Marriages and To Have and To Hold recently, and originally, I had actually meant to try to find an SKSE polygamy mod (shockingly, doesn't exist, lol)

According to this commenter, RDO can be used to enable spouse dialogue? How do you do this? I've been using RDO for a long time and can't say I've stumbled onto such a feature.

How do I turn off the stupid "mini window" thing when you touch your phone wrong?

I don't even know how to do this intentionally, I only know that it is bar none the most useless feature to ever come out of software development, and the Large Language Model is a technology that exists.

I scoured my settings and cannot figure out a way to turn this off. It primarily affects messaging apps, but it also happens with YouTube, discord, even doordash, seemingly when swiping down to open the notifications bar as a push comes in?

If anyone knows a way to get rid of it, I would be SO grateful. Much love <3

Someone please explain NPC equipment distribution to me.

I thought I had this all figured out, but life (Skyrim modding) had to go and get all complicated.

I am working on a mod that restructures the level lists (specifically for armor) in such a way as to introduce many more matching outfits into the world. As an example, instead of bandit drawing one set of gauntlets, one pair of boots, and a cutlass, they instead draw from a list of predetermined outfits, each of which features matching components. No more "dwarven boots, leather bracers, iron gauntlets" and instead "this bandit is wearing Dwarve Boots, Dawrven Gauntlets, and a Dwarven Cuirass."

I've gone through and built these outfits using Use All level lists, all flagged at level 1 so that the distribution happens regardless of player or NPC level. Most of these outfit lists include sublists I call selectors, which determine things like if the outfit does or does not include a shield or helmet using Calculate Once lists with a set Chance for None.

What I am lost on is distribution. NPC Templates seems like a good place to start, but they are all over the place. Like if I look at a Bandit Conqueror in xEdit, it is refrenced by a bunch of unnamed EncBandit and DunBandit records using it as a template, which sounds great, but the Bandit Conqueror itself is using a LNPC record for a template, which itself contains a bunch of encBandit records.

So first question is, who the hell do I give these outfits to? Combine all them and I get a few THOUSAND NPCs, so the difference between "give an outfit to all sub NPCs" and "give it only to records with a Full Name and the template will take care of the rest" is enormous.

Then, when scanning these records, I realized I didn't know the difference between the NPCs inventory under Items and the NPCs Default Outfit, then I thought I had figured it out when I looked at a dremora I know doesn't have lootable armor. Great, I thought, until I started to find records with both a Default Outfit AND armor in their inventory.

So second question is, how do I actually distribute these lists? In an ideal world, all the armor will now be lootable, even if it requires dealing with any of the NPCs' objections, but I don't want to run into an issue of taking an bandit's Steel Gauntlets and seeing Hide Bracers show up underneath.

Much love for anyone who can help. I'm not about to tear my hair out any time soon over this, as I have a long way to go testing before I publish, but it's still driving me nuts <3

Now more than ever, we need an L Cluster origin. So I thought of 2.

With the release of Nomads, we can finally live out our fantasies of wandering the stars in search of new resources, new knowledge, and new homes, but not every corner of the galaxy is as pleasant as others. One of the most horrifying aspects of space is the possibility of being trapped there, something that didn't exactly translate well to a 4X game like stellaris...until now.

Now, we have both somewhere to be trapped, the enigmatic and isolated L Cluster, and a way to "survive" while trapped there, the Arkship. In honor of this, I propose two new origins, one strictly nomadic, one not.

ORIGIN: From Distant Stars

From the moment our forebears first gazed across the seas of our homeworld, we have been driven to find more. In spaceflight, we finally sated our unstoppable drive to seek out the undiscovered...for a time. But as our galaxy grew familiar, it became the ultimate challenge to be "first" at something. So it was that we set our eyes to stars unknown and our hands to the Arkship before sailing across the void. We all knew it would be a one way trip. This place, the L Cluster we now know as home, is amazing—imagine what else this galaxy could teach us if we weren't stuck here.

Your Arkship will start in Terminal Egress with the Overworked Engines modifier, reducing your Sublight Speed by 35% and ensuring you can't go back. After researching Plasma Engines, you can use the Reconfigure Engines decision to spend a significant amount of Alloys and Energy to remove this debuff.

New Situation: Escape the L Cluster

Instead of researching 7 L Gate Insights, you will instead need to research 9 total projects in each of the 3 disciplines: Study L Gate Transit in Physics, Study L Gate Mapping in Society, and Study L Gate Design in engineering. These are special projects you can undertake at any time. Each has 3 tier, and completing one grants you a +5% research speed in that discipline per tier (so completing Study Design 3 grants +15% Engineering speed) for 5 years. After researching all 9, you can research L Gate Activation as normal. Activating the Terminal Egress Gate enables a hidden gate on the other end of the galaxy in the Enclave system, containing the final secrets of the Desannu and a new Legendary Desannu scientist leader. The L Gate event (Gray Tempest, Desannu, or L Drakes) will start in this system instead, regardless of if you or an outside empire activates the l gates.

Empire Modifiers:

In an empire that holds Elections, the current ruler is given a significant advantage.

Can settle orbital habitats without vassalizing yourself.

Empire Size from Arkships: +150%

Empire Size from Habitats: +150%

Your starting Arkship arrives in the L Cluster unarmed, unarmored, and unshielded.

Removed Starting technologies: Armor 1, Shield 1, and all weapons.

Ruler modifiers:

Initial Ruler Starting Level: +1

Initial Ruler Starting Trait: Champion of the People

Galaxy modifiers: L Cluster events are disabled for other empires. The Gray Tempest may spawn from the hidden gate after completing Escape the L Cluster.

ORIGIN: Sins of Our Fathers (CHALLENGING)

We had intended to innocently create the ultimate tool, a highly malleable form of anything we needed to created anything we desired. Fools that we were, we had not considered that a weapon is merely a tool of war. When our machines turned against us, it was all we could do to disable our Gateway, retreating ever further, unprepared, and pray that the fallen would forgive us. Now isolated to this single system, our leaders have proposed bold plans to retake our home cluster. Time will tell if these prove our salvation or our doom.

Start the game with one planet on the edge of the L Cluster. The Gray Tempest controls the rest of the cluster with space stations, decreasing in power as they take more jumps from the factory, and have few fleets. If you take these systems, the Gray Tempest will attempt to retake them. For every ship or station destroyed in the L Cluster, yours OR theirs, they Tempest will learn how to construct bigger fleets of better ships, but you will also gain insights into how to better defeat them in battle. Build your might and take back your home by destroying the factory, or complete a special research project at the L Gate to travel through it one last time before destroying it forever.

Starting Technology: Nanite Transmuter

Special Project at the L Gate: destroy the L Gate. Requirements: One arkship in orbit of the L Gate, 360 days. Completing this project will convert all habitable planets in all L Gate systems to Nanite Worlds with the Terraforming Candidate modifier, and incur heavy opinion penalties from the owners of these systems, heavily increased for pops killed on these planets. The L Gate network becomes inactive.

Galaxy Modifier: opening the L Gates always starts the Gray Tempest crisis regardless of difficulty.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Now, these may not be "balanced" because I don't really think you can touch the L Cluster and have it be balanced. It just takes one jerk in multiplayer to ruin everything. That being said, I do think they could be extremely fun, so I want to hear what y'all think.

There is a 0.00000000000001% that someone with authority likes my ideas, but that isn't 0, so I do waive any claim to the text or concept mentioned above or any form of credit for such.

Need a utility: Draugr actually wear armor

A mod I am working on would greatly benefit from draugr actually wearing armor I give them, if possible. I have spoken to one of the devs of Draugr Equip Armor, who says the feature is coming, but I'm wondering if it already exists.

Does anyone know of a mod that lets draugr actually wear armor and have it appear that way to the player? Much love for any help <3

Mod idea: The Emperor Visits Skyrim...or at least the Katariah does

This mod may exist, but I haven't been able to find it. After destroying the Dark Brotherhood, Vittoria simply cancels her wedding, which leads to the Emperor cancelling his trip to Skyrim. This is super suspicious! I, the human being writing this, know that the Emperor meant to come to Skyrim to die, but the Empire doesn't!

I have found Vittora's Alternate Wedding, thank you to AndrealletiusVIII, you always to amazing work. But I still want to rob the Katariah (Windshear and the Model White Gold Tower are both there).

It would be nice if after Destroy the Dark Brotherhood, the Katariah still came to Skyrim.

If this already exists, please let me know! Much love ❤️

IED NiNode crash?

I am going to preface this with something I need everyone to keep in mind: I know jack shit about fuck all, top tier grade A absolute moron. So absolutely everything I'm about to say could be, and probably is, wrong.

What is a NiNode and why does it keep crashing my game? It comes up all the time in my crashlogs, and since I am the aforementioned idiot, I use CLA to help me make sense of them sometimes, where I see NiNodes come up frequently as well.

Node is the part that makes sense to me, because I know that IED uses "gear nodes" to display items as equipment when not equipped. So when I started running into a consistent, replicable NiNode crash in the same area every time, my first thought was to test if disabling IED would solve it, and it did. No crashes since disabling it, just a not quite as cool looking game.

So question 2, is this a correlation≠causation situation, or did I actually fix the issue by removing the mod? And question 3, if IED is causing these crashes, how do I fix it?

Attached is my crashlog. Much love to this community for helping me so much over the years ❤️

How to fix Jarl Igmund?

For whatever reason, Jarl Igmund is refusing to give me his quest to kill the forsworn. I've experienced this bug in the past, and always thought it related to in-game time passing, as in those days I tended to go to Markarth later in my playthrough. Reinforcing the theory is that I installed Time Flies for this playthrough, and came to Igmund first on day 61.

I tried talking to him, and the dialogue "You're the Jarl? I'm looking for work." doesn't appear. Reloaded an earlier save in Markarth, still not there. Reloaded a save from before I ever went to Markarth, still isn't there. Started a nrw game, still isn't there. So it's clearly not related to the passage of time.

Nothing in my load order is overriding Favor151 at all. Not the quest, not the dialogue topics, not the dialogue branch. Not even Igmund himself.

Without that quest, Thane of the reach and all its displays becomes impossible. Anyone have any idea how to fix that? I don't think its a load order issue, as like I said nothing is overriding anything about this quest.

What is this type of blade called?

I have called this sword "my scimitar" since I bought it, but learned today that scimitar is a kinda racist word for any curved, non western blade, as opposed to a saber, a curved western blade.

When I asked what I should be calling my sword then, I was greeted with cries of "saber" and that is NOT a saber. Does this style of blade even have a formal name?

Note: the blade was not purchased for ANY degree of historical accuracy. While theoretically battle ready, it was purchased because it looks cool.
