Learn from my mistake, do not give out personal number when starting even a small business.

Two years ago, I wanted to open a recruitment agency, like a small one that only has a few clients, nothing big. I managed to register the company, starting to contact clients here and there, and slowly got a few calls, but with almost no real leads. My biggest mistake - I didn’t use a business number or email - which definitely didn’t make me sound too professional. Anyway, instead of business calls and interested clients or candidates, I started getting tons of spam calls. Someone even called me to post about my business in a magazine lol. This continued until I actually asked here about a solution and someone recommended I can a business line or a VoIP, which I did finally. The calls didn’t stop of course, because everyone had my personal number already, but I just didn’t panic much as I only answered calls I knew the number for. So, if you want to save your mental health and not get spammed with calls every other hour (or even worse), do not list your personal number for business purposes.

can email warmup tools fix a damaged sender reputation?

We’re getting ready to run a large email campaign, and I’ve been trying to figure out how much sender reputation actually matters before scaling up.

The domain is not in a bad state, but deliverability hasn’t been completely stable either, so I want to avoid running into spam issues once volume increases.

We’re considering using email warmup as part of the preparation phase to gradually increase sending activity and make the domain look more positive before the main campaign. At the same time, I’m not sure how effective that is, compared to things like list cleaning, proper SPF/DKIM setup, and keeping rates under control.

For people who have done higher-volume campaigns, did email warmup actually noticeably improve inbox placement? Or did it end up being just one small part of a bigger setup process?

Is there something you've always wanted to ask someone close to you but never have - and what's stopping you?

Not anything dramatic. Just the question that sits there and never quite gets asked. Timing, nerves, not knowing how to start

Had a new furnace and AC put in last week. The installer put the filter grille in the hallway ceiling but the slot is sized for a 1 inch filter. The unit itself is a variable speed system and the manual says it needs a 4 to 5 inch media filter for proper static pressure. I asked them about it and they said a 1 inch MERV 8 is fine. But everything I read says thicker filters are way better for airflow and pressure drop. Am I overthinking this or did they cheap out on the install? Also the grille is really hard to open. The latch feels flimsy like it will break the first time I change the filter. Should I call them back to fix this or just live with it and swap in a better filter housing myself later?

I've been on a lot of Khruangbin, Cigarettes After Sex, and older Bon Iver lately and they hit close but I want more. Open to anything - genre doesn't really matter as long as the vibe matches

Im currently inland on a work permit, waiting on my express entry PR to finalize. honestly the psychological toll of just waiting for the ircc portal to update every day is brutal.

Got my medical request letter last week which should be good news, but it immediately sent me into a spiral because the deadline is so tight. everyone I know who did this recently in toronto said it was a logistical nightmare - having to book the panel physician, then physically travel to a separate lab for bloodwork, and then somehow find another place for the chest xray.

trying to coordinate time off work for three separate appointments when you don't even own a car is just too much.

I ended up just borrowing a friends car and driving up to clinic in Barrie since they actually do the xrays and blood right there inside the exact same office. getting it all done in one shot was literally the only part of this entire two-year immigration process that didn't make me want to pull my hair out.

but now im just right back to the waiting game. for anyone who recently passed the medical phase for canadian PR, how long did it take for your background check to clear after they received your results? i just really need some reassurance that the end is actually in sight because im so tired of my entire future depending on a loading screen.

Just received my reassessment letter for my Silver Spring home and I gotta say, I am totally floored. Residential property values in my area increased more than 12% during this cycle. With the extra taxes and the sky-high price of homeowners’ insurance these days, I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth it anymore. My house was built in the latter half of the 60s and now it's at the point where I need to replace major parts of it like the roof, windows and HVAC system. I was toying with a full reno to increase the market value but the prices that MoCo contractors are quoting are crazy.

I really don't want to have months of construction while living here but then again I don't want to put the place on the market as a 'fixer upper' and have 100 people underbid me because my kitchen is original. Yes, you can sell your property directly to a local cash buyer instead of the traditional route of listing it with a realtor. I heard of some company that buys homes as-is without the listing crap. I’ve heard a little about them around the area. We talking selling for a fair cash price or fixing things up?

I'm planning an extended trip to Iceland and thinking Vik could be a solid base to explore the south coast without moving around too much. The village is close to the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, Dyrholaey, and Skogafoss so day trips are easy with a car.

Central options like Hotel Kria offer modern rooms with soundproofing and an on-site restaurant which helps when you do not want to go out every night. For saving money over time self-catering spots stand out such as Black Beach Suites with kitchenettes and Vik Apartments that have full kitchens and space for small groups.

Some guesthouses and farm stays further out give more of a nature feel if that is what you are after. I checked the guide to Iceland for details on these places.

Has anyone stayed longer in the Vik area? Did you prefer hotels or apartments and any tips for long term travelers there?

Lately I have been looking for songs that have that calm, almost quiet feeling, like driving at night or just sitting with your thoughts. Not sad exactly, just peaceful and a bit emotional.

Some songs I have been looping: Pink and White by Frank Ocean and Space Song by Beach House

What are some songs that give you that same late night vibe?

I’m trying to be more intentional about my routine, but my work schedule makes it really hard. I have to wake up earlier than what feels natural for me, and it’s starting to affect my energy, focus, and mood during the day.

I know this is something I need to fix, not just “push through,” because better sleep would probably improve every other goal I’m working on too.

For those who’ve successfully changed their sleep cycle because of work, what helped the most? Did you shift it slowly, change your night habits, or just force yourself into the new schedule?

Also, how long did it take before it started to feel normal?

Would really appreciate any simple tips that actually worked for real people.

There is a very specific kind of haunting energy that comes from a massive hull resting where it was never meant to stay, especially when you realize that these giant machines were once the absolute center of someone’s world and the lifeline for entire crews, it feels like abandoned ships are these heavy and rusting monuments to a version of the past that the ocean is slowly trying to reclaim, and even in 2026 with all our satellite tracking and high-tech salvage gear there are still thousands of these "ghost ships" sitting in shipbreaking yards or rotting away on remote coastlines like the legendary brayka wreck or the skeletons along the skeleton coast
