I picked up this near mint technics SL-1700 mk1 and the bonus is it came with a shure m95ed cartridge and the original stylus, which has seen very limited rub time very happy with this combination.

I just purchased this Technics SL-1700 ml1 with the original headshell and paired with a Shure m95ed cartridge.
This is one of my favorite turntables from Technics. Semi automatic, suspended sub chassis, easy to tear down and service and the shure m95ed sounds lovely
This shure m95ed came with the Technics sl-1700 mk1 I bought. Is this cartridge worthy of a stylus upgrade?
Well, it seems I always go full circle on turntables. I just took delivery of this technics sl-1700 mk1. I spent a few hours completely tearing it down cleaning it. Removed all old factory grease and applied new. Re-damped the cue piston, flushed all pots and fine adjustment pots with deoxit, polished the dust cover, polished the platter, cleaned up the plinth and put it all back together with a full function test and I'm very pleased.
IMO the Technics sl-1700 is one of the best inter sl series Technics ever produced.
Paired with my nagaoka mp-110 and running it through a fully serviced technics sa-200 receiver into my EPI M-150 speakers, this setup sounds superb 👌
I'll be taking delivery of this excellent condition technics sl-1700 mk1 in a few days! It even comes with the original instructions and what looks like a record dust remover (?).
In any event, I had a 1700 a while ago and foolishly sold it. Now, I'll have it back in my possession.
So, I was going to get an sl-1300 but it sold out from under me, then I saw a sl-1400 and that sold from under me, started to get a little discouraged and honestly was really wanting to get a sl-1700. Well, I looked at some listing and lo and behold this sl-1700 popped up and was just recently listed!
Man, to say I moved at light speed to purchase was an understatement 😆
This one looks clean as a whistle 👌
I have been looking at the Technics sl-1300 and sl-1400 mk1
There are one of each available
The 1300 has had basic service done, the usual deoxit on pots, gears cleaned and re-lubed , the 1400 has not had any basic service done and the rejecr/stop nob is broken, the tab cracked but the piece is there so perhaps a little gorilla glue will set it back ok.
Both sellers asking $330
Curious which you would choose and why. I'm leaning 1400 as the 1300 seems like it may be more of a pain to get inside and service, I have read that in order to re-damp the cue piston you have to de-solder the tonearm.
I have attached photos of the respective options

I have a pioneer pl-516, but a technics headshell, the recommended overhang on the pl-516 is 49mm, the Technics headhsell does not have enough room to move my nagaoka mp-110 back far enough to get to 49mm. Does anyone have a suggestion for a headshell that will allow me to get 49mm?
Purchased a fully serviced Technics sa-200, and it arrived today. I'm officially pure analog now. The 25 wpc has to be underrated, or perhaps it's just true pure watts , not inflated numbers like in some modern amps/receivers.
The phono stage is really quite good, I've put my schitt mani 2 on hold for now.
The sa-200 may not win powerhouse awards, but for the money to performance it's a sleeper, IMHO.
My system is the following
Pioneer pl-516
Nagaoka mp-110
EPI M-150 speakers
Technics sa-200 receiver
I found a technics sa-200 that has been professionally serviced, in excellent condition, comes with a full 1 year warranty. I'll be pairing it with my pioneer pl-516, epi m-150 speakers and nagaoka mp-110 cartridge.

I had an sa-200 a while ago but had to sell it for bills, but now I got one back again. This sa-200 is "entry level" but it was the cleanest 25 wpc I've ever heard with a thd of .04 % it provides a very nice playback.
Between the three, at the same price ($200-$250), which would you suggest?
I'm looking to try another cartridge for my pioneer pl-516 turntable

I was thinking about something from the Grado line or Sumiko line

For reference, I currently run nagaoka MP-110, which I enjoy a lot. Maybe I should just upgrade the stylus on my Nag?
For anyone who owns or has owned the pl-516, is this normal operation for the auto return or should it be smooth and non "jerky"?

For the record, I did tear the entire until down and do a full preventive maintenance on it, including new grease, new spindle oil, new damping fluid, deoxit on speed controls etc.

I removed and cleaned the auto return cam and added a small amount of white lithium grease, but not sure if that is required.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Picked up this pioneer pl-516
She is in near mint condition, had been sitting unused for some time. Got it home , full tear down, cleaned up internals , cleaned pitch and fine adjustment pots, cleaned and re-greased auto return mechanism, re-damped cue piston, gave it a good wipe down and polished ths dust cover

She spins dead accurate and runs like a top.
Anyone know where I can get some NOS Braun Atelier Magic Smoke™️ to refill my PDS550? I tried to put the original stuff back in but couldn’t catch it all.
(It’s a notorious filter cap problem on these, should be a simple replacement)
As title states, looking for budget friendly replacement feet for my pl-516

What do you suggest?

A new to me Pioneer pl-516 paired with my nagaoka mp-110. Lovely sound and great player.

The entire unit is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. The feet are surprisingly still pretty good, but I may just swap them for some new ones.

Even the vinyl wrap is in excellent condition, with no peeling or lifting anywhere. It was well cared for.

New to me, Pioneer pl-516 I excellent condition!
I found this on my local FB marketplace for $150.
Got it home, tore it completely down, and did a full general service. Cleaned every nook and crany. Deoxit on speed switch, pitch pots, fine tuning pots. Removed and cleaned spindle and spindle well, fresh oil. Re-damped cue piston, oiled motor. Re-grease auto return mechanism. The feet are in surprisingly good condition but may get new ones at some point. Belt is only a couple of years old.
Polished dust cover.

She is looking and performing perfectly

Speed is steady and stable at 33 and 45.

Semi automatic, this is the way.
