Less Than ₱100 Electric Bill for the Last 6 Months Combined!

The best part, no more power outages!

Yes, the investment wasn't cheap (₱300K), but once I break even in about three years, electricity will be free moving forward.

The "Power" of Overpaneling

Location: Iloilo

Since my solar system was installed last November, this is the first time that I ended the day with only 80% SoC.

Most days, it would be at 95% to 100% SoC.

It was raining and cloudy for the majority of the day, but because I opted to maximize my roof space, I got to maximize the harvest during not-so-ideal weather.

The following morning, the battery was at 43% SoC by 6am.

Originally, my installer only recommended x10 panels, but I still requested to get x13 panels since it is still within spec. If I had the roof space, I would have gone with x16 panels since that is the max capacity.

My advice to those who are still planning to install solar, if you have the budget and the space, maximize the number of panels; it will be very useful during rainy and cloudy days.

Edit: I have manually switched to off-grid, so my battery must have enough charge for nighttime use.

My system specs:

13x 615W Canadian bifacial panels

1x 6kW Deye hybrid inverter

1x 16kWh LVTopsun G4 battery

Acer Predator Helios 16 (used)

Someone in my area is selling an Acer Predator Helios 16 for 50K with the following specs:

Intel i9-13900HX

RTX 4070 (8GB)

16GB RAM (single stick)

1TB NVMe SSD

*Battery is at 69ish Wh from the original 90Wh

According to the seller, it was purchased in 2023 and has not been opened, with the warranty sticker still in place. It does look good based on the pics sent to me with very minimal scratches.

This will be used for casual gaming.

Is this a good deal?

Our 6-month Solar System Update

Original post.

This is coming from an average of ₱6K to ₱6.5K (400-450 kWh) electric bill per month.

Total electric bill paid ₱70.66, breakdown below:

December 2025 - ₱5.60

January 2026 - ₱5.60

February 2026 - ₱30.61

March 2026 - ₱5.60

April 2026 - ₱5.60

May 2026 - ₱17.65

- A zero bill is not possible unless you have net-metering, and your solar system will produce more than you consume, or completely go off-grid. It will also depend on whether your DU charges a minimum amount.

- If you notice, every 3 months (quarter), I get billed more than the minimum amount of ₱5.60. I need to run my meter and consume at least 1kWh so that my account with my electric provider does not get tagged as inactive.

- I have manually switched to off-grid since my solar system was installed last November. Our house primarily runs off of the energy harvested during the day and from the battery during the night.

The best part? No more power outages!

Solar system specs:

13x 615W Canadian bifacial panels

1x 6kW Deye hybrid inverter

1x 16kWh LVTopsun G4 battery

Total investment was 300K last November (Iloilo).
