A lil something different for this group. Not speed, not precision builds, just a dad with some PVC and scrap wood making shit up as he goes along. (Plus beer, power tools and a kindergartner with big ideas). Next up, a water tank for the truck bed.
Edit: this is purely for decoration. This is not structural at all, and it was never meant to be.
Kid has been big dreams, and his dad is here to encourage power tools and building shit. We got a JD Gator for cheap, fixing it up (thanks to all that responded to earlier posts this week), and adding attachments. So far I’m working on a roll cage, and a snow plow. I know I want an excavator arm but haven’t engineered yet. He also wants water tank and fire hose.
What else have yall done with varying degrees of success?
Got a cheap John Deere Gator and the tires are completely shot. Upon measuring the back tires are 14x8 and fronts are 12x6. How accurate to these measurements do I need to keep to? As long as they’re not bigger than originals. I may as well get rubber for the back tires. Should I get rubber in the front tires or not?
Driving conditions are Neighborhood sidewalks, gravel paths, small hills and light mud/snow during the winter.
Looking for a 12” bike for my 3 year old. Looking at things like Trek Precaliber 12, or Woom 2. I’ve tried Vulture Space, and Dream Bikes. And Marketplace has one down in Kenosha, hoping I don’t have to make that drive. Any other recommendations?
Don’t want to drive an hour out of town, don’t want to spend $300, help?
We have young kids, 3 and 5. They are a handful like all kids are. They do half day preschool and then with my wife from noon onwards. I WFH most of the time and help w kids after 5 PM. But I also take the occasional business trip which in ways is a company paid, part-time vacation: happy hours, team outings, sneak in an evening with friends in the city, etc. At the same thing, my wife is now having the kids without support for a whole week.
When I get back home tonight, I’ll take the kids for the whole weekend and she’s going to get a hotel room to decompress.
Is there anything else others have done?
