SDSU to CC

Hi guys, I’m a local incoming freshman for the fall and schedule orientation on July 10th. However I’ve thought about it for a bit and searched around, the path I wanna take that would be cheaper and quicker is for community college.

How should I go about withdrawing my admission? I’m really concerned about my financial aid being taken away as well. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Still get financial aid?

Hi guys so I’m planning to withdraw my acceptance to a 4 year university. I haven’t chosen classes yet but schedule to soon. I found a better path to take towards my career which is community college then transferring to a uni or getting an associates.

What will happen to my financial aid? Will I lose all of it, do I have to re-apply, contact someone about the changes in my circumstances? Any advice is really appreciated

Applying Now?

Hi guys I was originally committed to my local uni, SDSU, however I might withdraw bc of I’m redrawing my path for nursing. I preferably don’t wanna have to do ABSN so I can get in the field quicker and save myself from potential debt. So I’m instead planning to get prereq for ADN and go from there eventually to RN-BSN.

Should I withdraw and start applying to community colleges? I know applying this late will leave slim pickings for class but maybe I could get some prereqs.

Uni to ABSN or CC to ADN?

Hi guys, so I committed to my local uni SDSU for a psychology major (BA) cause my chances of getting into direct entry nursing wasnt great. I still wanna pursue nursing and planning to do a CNA program during break then picking up experience! I also have a lot of financial aid to help me with uni. Then I plan to get into (preferably) ABSN or ADN. But I heard going for community college then ADN is a quicker route.

Which would be better? Going thru 4 years of uni and getting a bachelors to ABSN or withdrawing, going to community college into ADN? I just feel bad about withdrawing from uni due to sunken cost fallacy and I’m picking classes soon. Any advice is appreciated :’)

CNA Programs

Hi!! I’m a local incoming SDSU freshman looking for good CNA programs, preferably affordable for certification so I can pick up some clinical experience. Healthcare Science Academy looks promising but I’m not sure. Any advice is appreciated :^)

Path to PhD

I’m gonna be an incoming freshman this fall to SDSU for psychology major and aim to apply for the SDSU/UCSD JDP as well, specializing in neuropsychology. I really wanna stay local bc I’m unsure if I can build up the funds to move for other programs. If I can, I’d wanna go from undergrad directly to JDP and I’m unsure yet if I want a MA in case.

For getting lab work and any type of research experience should I try reaching out to professors immediately during fall semester or is that too early? I’m aiming to get any professor but I think being taken under the wing by a professor who is also in the JDP is most desirable. I don’t have any experience except some hospital volunteer work so are my chances for unpaid research higher?

I haven’t even registered for fall classes yet, not until July 10th. I’m already stressing and trying to formulate a proper plan how to achieve it. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Starting a savings account

Hi guys, I’m (18F), recent high school graduate and planning to work part time alongside full time university. I wanna open a savings account so I could save a portion of my pay. Where would be a good bank? Should I stick with BofA? Since I have a checkings account and debit card with BofA my parents opened years ago for me. Any advice appreciated!

It’s on July 10 but where do I go to start the orientation? I’m not familiar with the campus at all 😓😓 Also I missed the deadline to submit a photo for my SDSU id card by a day, should I still upload it or can I take it in person once I’m there?
