Tandem Mobi— is it worth it?

I have been type 1 diabetic for around 17 years and for the longest time I had Medtronic and then switched to Tandem about 4 years ago. I really like my Tandem Tslim X2 pump despite a few ups and downs (like I feel like the quality isn’t super great on the plastic and I’ve had it crack before).

Anyways, the warranty on my Tslim X2 is soon over and I have the option to upgrade to the Tandem Mobi. However, I was honestly kind of shocked when I learned that the Mobi has no screen at all and instead food/blood sugar boluses are controlled solely by the phone. Idk if it’s just me, but that seems like a really poor design. I often am out and about during the day and don’t always have access to a phone charger, so having to rely solely on my phone if I go out to eat or anything really makes me nervous.

I was curious for anyone who does have the Mobi, what has that been like for you?

Ireland ruined diet soda for me; am I going crazy?

I’m from the USA and just recently got back from my first ever trip to Ireland and lemme say it was so wonderful in so many different ways.

However, there is something that has been slightly bugging me and I think I’ve put my finger on it but I want to see if I’m alone in this.

My first couple of diet/zero sugar drinks I had in Ireland (like Pepsi zero and Diet Coke) just tasted… different than they do in the US. Like when I first got Pepsi zero I was concerned because it tasted sweeter than normal and I was worried about being given regular Pepsi (I’m diabetic which is why it would’ve been an issue). Turns out there was just something about it. Same with the Diet Coke! And after coming back to the States the diet drinks just didn’t hit the same.

I did find out (through Google AI which makes me wary) that Ireland uses different chemicals/sweeteners than the US and also that the water being different may have something to do with it, so is there validity to this?? Or was the happiness and joy of being in Ireland simply making everything taste better?

I’m curious if others have felt/experienced the same.

Gel polish accident

For the more knowledgeable nail people, what should I do after accidentally putting gel nail polish on instead of regular polish? It caused pain which is when I noticed my mistake, and some of my fingernails and the surrounding areas are still hurting and feeling like there’s a slight burning/tingling sensation even after I took the polish off.
