Does applying in another state have a chance for higher SUB for Amex Gold?
So I was applying for the Amex Gold card but I kept getting the 60k SUB. I was trying to fish for 80k+ but got the “too many applications” message. People on Reddit said to wait atleast 8 days from last app to apply again. For me thats in 4 more days.
I’m going on a trip out of state in 10 days so should I wait until I’m there to apply again cus I heard applying on a different browser with incognito and a vpn can help get a higher SUB. Is that true? Does that actually make any difference? Or if I reapply and get offered 60k, I just bite the bullet and take it.
Cannot find the specific offers on my Savor card
I recently got approved for the savor card and I was trying to find these sorts of offers like on my Amex card and how Chase also has specific offers at different merchants. I looked everywhere on the capital one app and cannot find these sort of offers anywhere for my savor card. Do they not exist? Am I doing something wrong?
Haven’t gotten a targeted Amex Gold offer in over a year
I have been really eying the Gold Card recently and I got approved for it but only got the minimum 60k SUB. I saw the methods of using incognito/different browsers and i applied and withdrew 5 applications since they were all 60k offers and eventually got the message of "too many applications" and "provide req information"
I was hoping to use a targeted offer like the ones Amex emails you. I got one over a year ago but haven't received one since. I have the BCP card since July 2024 but have barely used it within the last year. Is that why I don't get targeted email offers? Should I start spending on my BCP to hopefully get a higher in offer SUB on the app? And how can i achieve a higher sign up bonus when applying or get my applications to not show the "provide req information" ?
I’m 23, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in IT in 2024, have my Security+ certification, and recently finished an 8-month contract as an IT Field Technician doing desktop support, break/fix, deployments, troubleshooting, ticketing, device setups, etc. I’ve been applying heavily to entry level type roles like help desk, desktop specialist , IT support specialist, etc. The market has honestly been much tougher than I expected. A lot of ghosting, rejections after interviews, and “entry-level” jobs asking for 3–5 years experience.
Some silver lining is that I recently got an offer for a desktop support role paying around $45k/year. Im mostly likely going to accept this offer as this is my only lead i have and nothing else lined up as in interviews or offers. Part of me feels grateful because I know the market is rough, but another part of me feels disappointed because I thought having a Bachelor’s degree, Security +, and some real hands-on IT experience would put me in a better spot financially.
My question is:
Based on my current experience level, should i feel grateful for taking on this opportunity of $45k/year and is this actually normal/reasonable in today’s entry-level IT market? Or am I underselling myself? If i jump on this position, how long do you think i should stay here for to eventually level up?
