It makes even more sense why Lex hates him so much if that was just the common opinion about aliens. It also means they're gonna lose their shit when Brainiac shows up.

The switch-up has been wild, but the controversy probably helped it.

Can't friggen wait! Between this Peacemaker and Penguin, DC has been the goat when it comes to TV.

Relax, Hal doesn't stay dead in the show...

I've been saying this for months: Hal will seemingly die early on, and similar to True Detective S1, the case will be reopened in 2026, and what happened to them during their 2016 Rushville investigation will help John figure out where Hal is in the present day.

It's honestly a shame the creatives involved feel the need to subtly give away so much just to pacify fans who are preemptively raging over everything.

Honestly, could we all sit back and enjoy the tide now of what's likely a great Green Lantern story/HBO show?

I'm calling it first, Paul Ben-Victor is J'onn J'onzz in disguise

His character has been described as *"an extraterrestrial devoted to exposing the truth and exacting vengeance against those who wronged his people".* **Yes** , that description fits Atrocitus, but it also fits Martian Manhunter.

I already think there are enough clues from the trailer suggesting that Martians are being introduced. As some have pointed out, the Guardians modelled their robotic Manhunters after those of Mars. What if they changed it so the Guardians' Manhunters also wiped out Martians in the DCU, with J'onn seeking revenge?

In the comics, Guardian Manhunters don't shapeshift. In the trailer, Paul Ben-Victor describes Manhunters before the scene cuts to a shapeshifter, cross-strapped in a manner very reminiscent of Martian Manhunter.

I also have a hunch that "The New Frontier" comic heavily inspires this show. Which is a J'onn-and Hal-centric story, fitting the show's tone, and it's a favourite of Gunn. Tom King even mentioned it in a recent interview at the 8-minute mark as a recommendation before watching the show: https://youtu.be/3bs7Qkt5qaw?si=LgJ3HxIahoL4eXUK

What do you all think? I'm starting to believe it too. If it weren’t for many people confusing the Manhunters with Martian Manhunter, I might not have connected the dots. The showrunners might be aiming for that ambiguity.

If you wanna learn more about Manhunters, PLEASE do yourself a favour and go watch this masterpiece. They are a huge big bad in it.

If nothing else, watch this video; it's a condensed version of the whole season. The Manhunters are mentioned at 4:21 and then become the main focus. If Star Wars fans can get over the animation, so can you. It's a great entry into the universe, in case you feel like you're larping over the trailer thinking it's Martian Manhunter. The Manhunters are

Does any one else think they might be introducing Martians and not the Manhunters the Guardians built?

Not only is there a J'onn J'onzz looking cross-hatch straps on that shape-shifter, but they described them as "beings." That seems like an odd description for androids created by the Guardians. I don't recall Manhunters ever shape-shifting in the comics. Not to mention, it looks like a skull John is picking up on that planet, which looks an awful lot like Mars.

Gunn has also expressed how much he loved The New Frontier, and that comic kind of serves as a Martian Manhunter/GL-centric story. Maybe they've combined certain elements, or it's a bait-and-switch, but I'm starting to think there are hints that we might see him in this series.

I don't want to get my hopes up, it's going to be awesome either way, but it does seem intriguing.

Can Secret Wars begin filming and finish post-production by December next year?

Doomsday has undergone approximately 16 months of post-production. If Secret Wars begins in August with a comparable five-month production period, it will have less time to develop what could be the largest superhero movie ever. Given the recent struggles of comic book movies to stick to their release schedules despite beginning production, it seems like a quick turnaround for what might be the biggest superhero film of all time.

I'm calling it. John will be falsely accused of Hal's murder in 2016 and will uncover the truth about his whereabouts in 2026 to clear his name.

Many people assume Hal is dying, but they overlook that the show is deliberately misleading them this way. It feels too obvious:

My theory is that the show will literally start in 2026 with John in prison for the 2016 murder of Hal Jordan. This explains why he wasn't in Superman 2025. Similar to season 1 of True Detective, new evidence will reopen the case, and John will be asked to revisit the 2016 case from Nebraska, before Hal went missing. This will be the season's main tension, as viewers wonder what ultimately happened to Hal between 2016 and 2026. The tensions between John and Hal will increase, and quotes like Laura Linney’s "then go get it, John Stewart" or Hal’s "over my dead body" will serve as red herrings. In the end, John will escape prison, and the 2016 case will reveal Hal's whereabouts in 2026.

Whether it's Parallax, Spector, or something else, I believe Hal will survive, and this is all a clever bait-and-switch.
