This is 60 (today)

I am still astounded that this milestone has happened to me. Turned 60 today. How is that possible?

Waiting to die

I turn 60 tomorrow and honestly the only thing keeping me alive is the fact that my son (28) would be homeless and my cats would die from neglect. I’m not useful to anyone other than what I provide financially or adulting for my son who is never going to grow up. There’s no point to my stupid life.

Driving after RTKR?

I had my RTKR on 5 May 2026. Recovery is going fairly well and I see physiotherapy on Monday 6 July. I’m only on Advil now and can walk with a cane more for emotional support rather than necessity. I am turning 60 on this Sunday. Wondering if it’s appropriate to ask my therapist or surgeon if I can drive again at this point.

Depression after RTKR

I had my RTKR on 5 May 2026. I am still in significant pain and am working with my surgeon’s office and doing my exercises. I went into this surgery with pre-existing major depression and it seems like the depression has gotten worse. I have not missed any medications for my depression but I’m really struggling. Just wondering if this is normal or not.

TKR and fibromyalgia

I had my RTKR on 5 May 2026. I’m still in significant pain and unsure if this is a flare of my fibromyalgia or I’m just not coping well with the postoperative pain. Any advice on how to relieve this pain would be appreciated.

Weight loss since TKR

I had a RTKR on 5 May 2026. Since then I’ve had virtually no appetite and off and on IBS symptoms and have lost 30 pounds so far. Anyone else have this happen?

Well, I’m sitting here in my hospital bed— my surgery was this morning on the right side. Nerve block is wearing off and I’m trying to just get by on Dilaudid. I was hoping for something a little stronger but I get it. They don’t have Journavx here in Canada. Will ask for Oxy as I also have fibromyalgia. Now the hard work of healing officially begins.
