Kona Kai Apartments

Just a heads up for anyone considering Kona Kai Apartments in Pueblo. Overall, I’ve had a good experience living here. The indoor atrium, pool, plants, and the location are all things I’ve genuinely enjoyed over the past three years.

That said, I think prospective tenants should know that the water has been shut off frequently during the time I’ve lived here. In the past, those shutoffs were typically communicated in advance, but more recently I’ve experienced multiple shutoffs without receiving any notice. I understand that emergencies happen and advance notice isn’t always possible, but the frequency and lack of communication have become frustrating.

This isn’t meant to be a rant or to discourage anyone from living here. It’s simply something I wish had been disclosed before I signed my lease, because depending on your work schedule, family situation, or other responsibilities, unexpectedly having no water can be a significant inconvenience.
Hopefully management can improve communication going forward.

Head Tour Satellite Midplus

Picked this up recently and thought it was too cool not to share. It’s a Head Tour Satellite TwinTube Midplus, stamped “Made in Austria” on the inside of the throat. It feels like an older version of prestige. I hit a few balls with it the other day and it is fun to hit with. It’s a 4 1/8 grip which I thought would be a negative but I kinda like how you can maneuver that racket a little bit more with the small grip. Anyways, anybody have any background or played with with this racket? What are your thoughts?

The Bumblebee

One of the most recognizable frames of the mid 90s. Stoked to add this one into the collection, especially all Andre Agassi styled.

Shipping - good, bad, ugly - seeking advice

Experienced in person FBM seller here - and I’ve started to list some very select items with shipping on FBM. My basic thought process is 1. Never list anything over $30 & 2. (Main reason I am trying it) is FB has groups for everything and I joined as many DVD/Blu-ray as I could find, and post my DVD bundles into those groups, and locally. This inventory was .15 a copy, so I am willing to take some risks with it.

What have other people’s experiences been using FBM w/ shipping to sell? Worth the risk on some next to free inventory? Especially inventory that is slow moving? Any good experiences? TIA

How I stay sane selling on Facebook Marketplace

I see a lot of posts about how frustrating Marketplace is — no-shows, lowballers, people not reading descriptions, showing up with less money than agreed on, etc. And honestly… all of that absolutely happens.

The two biggest things that helped me were:
I keep my expectations LOW.
I assume half the people messaging me won’t show up. I assume some people didn’t read the dimensions. I assume someone might say “oh wow, that’s smaller than I thought” even though the measurements are right there in the listing. Once I stopped expecting smooth transactions every time, Marketplace became way less frustrating.

I make people come to me.
This part has honestly been huge for me. My setup works well because buyers can meet me in my apartment lobby/parking lot without actually coming to my unit. That changed everything.

No-shows bother me way less when I’m already home. And when someone tries the “I only brought $40” move on a $60 item, it completely changes the dynamic. I have no issue rolling the end table right back upstairs. If they really want it, they can go get the rest of the money and come back.
Truthfully, I don’t think I would’ve had nearly as much success on Marketplace if I had to constantly drive items around to buyers.

I also realize I’m fortunate to have a setup where buyers can come to me without coming directly to my apartment. I know that’s not realistic for everybody, but for me it’s been the biggest stress reducer by far. Good luck out there!
