I bought a 1999 9-3 over the weekend. It feels like reuniting with an old friend. I grew up in Saabs in the 90s and 00s. My older brother's first car was a green 900 coupe, and my mom had a black 9000 and then a silver 9-3 a lot like this one.

I had been on the hunt for a decent Saab at a decent price for a while, and in that time realized I didn't even see a single Saab on the road. I missed them. Now I get to see one whenever I look in the driveway.

I thought it would be fitting to take the first picture of my defunct car in a defunct mall to really make me feel like it's 1999 again.

Picking up this car in a few days. Mechanical condition is great, interior is great, no major rust, but the paint is rough.

If I just want it to look better but not perfect, is there anything I can do for $5k or less?

I was doing some yard work this weekend and I came across what seems to be the old dumping ground for the property. A ton of pottery fragments, metal, glass shards, shells, animal bones, etc. Thankfully, I was able to find and dig up 3 intact bottles (though one has a crack). I'm no expert, but that largest one looks truly old to me.

My family has been on this property since 1939 so I'm curious if these might have been theirs, or if they belong to the one other post-colonial family who lived here before us. Any other info would be cool as well.

Pretty sure the first two are the same car. Last one seems to be an abandoned truck in the woods. I've seen these photos my whole life and I'm curious to know.
